This hotel hides behind doing the minimum stipulated by BCHA Tourism & Hospitality Best Practices Guidelines for Accommodation. While this sounds sufficient, what is quite clearly missing when entering the establishment is any type of policing to ensure guests follow appropriate social distancing best practices.

I was booked for a 3 night stay with my family and within about an hour of check-in, I was forced to check out due to my personal concerns for my family's safety. While the hotel has posted signage encouraging social distancing, there is no real policing of these policies. The hotel's stance is that they expect guests to be responsible. The failure here was never more clear than regarding elevator use. We experienced multiple situations where unrelated parties were crowding into an elevator together. No masks were worn by patrons in these cases (or anywhere on the premises). Why is it appropriate for the hotel to step in and enforce noise policies but not so for health.

I was not comfortable having my young children in that environment. I checked out of the establishment and asked that my monies be refunded. I was refunded 1 of 3 nights on my booking. Sad that in times of a pandemic they would not respect my concerns enough to issue a full refund.

Dear mikeH3979ZR, Thank you for sharing your opinion in this forum. While we appreciate and respect your opinion and decision, I must clarify that we take the health and safety of our Guests and Team Members seriously, therefore adhering to the provincial and municipal guidelines as they evolve; there is no option stipulated as minimum guidelines to implement. Previous to check in, at arrival, and in strategic places around the resort, we have posted guidelines for our Guests to follow. Our Clique Confident and Clique Clean initiatives are clear and in line with all provincial guidelines. Our Health & Safety Ambassador conducts walks to kindly remind guests of social distancing guidelines and pool time limitations. Considering your unique case, and always striving to satisfy our guests every request, we proceeded to refund you fairly. Unfortunately, after you have checked in your spacious Suite, we had to clean, disinfect and sanitize it, thus preventing other Guests from renting that Suite for the night. I am positive you did not have the intention to leave out any details in your review. Therefore, I want to make the public aware that you took advantage of our unique promotion, which provides Guests with the third night completely free when booking direct through our Website. You were refunded one night as we cannot refund a free one. We are deeply sorry to see you and your family leaving our Resort, and sincerely hope to have another opportunity to serve and impress you and your loved ones in the future.

The units are nicely sized and equipped and in a super ski-in/out location on the Blackcomb side.

Checkin was not allowed until strictly at 4pm at which time there was a huge queue to check in.
Parking spaces are tiny and difficult to fit a car into, so many people are parking in two spaces making the crunch even tougher.
One of the two elevators was out of order for most of our stay. Long elevator waits.
The property is very scratched up and dated, very much in need of a major renovation.
Hot tub time needed to be reserved for sanitation theater although reservations did not seem to be enforced despite many posted admonitions to the contrary. It was not too hard to get a reservation.
Parking $20 / night.

My summary is that it has its pluses and minuses but for the right price I would return.

Dear PaulSEA1, Thank you for sharing your review. Indeed, our ski-in, ski-out location is superb! We apologize for not having your Suite ready before 4pm. We indeed start checking in Guests as soon as Suites become available after cleaning and sanitizing them. In your particular case we had a large amount of Guests arriving at the same time, which of course could be perceived as adhering to a strict policy, which is definitely not the case. The elevator was being upgraded, while other 2 were fully operational. Upgrade has been concluded. While the property receives top-notch maintenance, we continue upgrading the public areas and Suites. Parking is actually $23. We appreciate your kind review and look forward to having another opportunity to serve you again soon.

It is one of the few places in Whistler, that provides you with a complete kitchen. That is a good sign. The rest of the room is fashioned like a junior suite. A niche for the bed and a small salon for sitting and watching TV and a small balcony off the bed side.
The entrance is beautiful to look at and the staff are cheerful and willing to help.
They also have a laundry on each floor and that's great for families with kids.

Remember, the hotel charges for parking $23 for a night. The rate is mentioned in the web page but, you need to search for it. The receptionist ca;;ed it out to us after we had dropped off the keys and moved away from the reception area.

Laundry is a great facility and I would love if they have a soap and softner dispenser somewhere so that guests can do the laundry.

Dear Samson T, Thank you for your review. Our Team is definitely here to make sure every guests is well looked after, and we are happy to learn you noticed them. The parking is one of the most fairly priced in Whistler, at $23 plus tax, your car is parked underground, protected from the elements; by far a great deal considering the other options and hotels in town. We sell detergent and softener at the Front Desk; based on your feedback, we'll make sure that our Team lets guests know about it at check in...thank you. We certainly look forward to having the opportunity to serve you again in the future. With appreciation,

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights over a weekend. We called before booking to check on how busy the hotel was and was told they did not have many bookings but in actuality the hotel seemed very busy. One of the two hot tubs was not working. The one that was working was not that hot. There was a rule that only 5 guests were permitted in the hot tub at one time but it was not followed by most guests, nor enforced by the staff. The pool and hot tub were extremely busy on Saturday and Sunday and we could hardly use them because they were too crowded and we didn’t feel safe. Our room (2 bedroom bunk bed suite) was partially renovated with new countertops, backsplashes and some furniture, but it could have used a total makeover. It was also extremely dark. The fireplace was nice but it was not working the first night and we had to wait until we were not in the room the next day to have it fixed. The bedroom with the bunk beds was very small and only fit the bed and one nightstand. On the Saturday night there was a lot of noise from people partying outside past midnight and it was difficult to fall asleep. The hotel is not walkable to the Lower Village unless you walk down Blackcomb Mountain, which is fine until you have to walk back up it. It was good to have extra space and a kitchen during Covid but next time we will stay somewhere else.

Dear AmandaV301, Thank you ro taking the time to share your review. Perception might differ from actual bookings. During your stay we were quite busy and had very high demand thanks to our renowned service, ample suites and unbeatable location. While the resort was certainly not full, seems like families were enjoying the amenities provided. The hot tub had a maintenance issue which was addressed within hours, we needed to close it to guarantee the safety of our Guests. While we ask Guests to act responsibly, by informing them verbally and through the highly visible signs at the pool deck entrance, we also conduct rounds to ensure all Guests are responsibly enjoying their experience. We certainly experience some large families enjoying the hot tub, and they were reminded and respectful of the time limit. Being located in a secluded and quiet location just minutes from the Village, it is certainly noticeable when any family decides to carry on with the excitement of their wonderful vacation experience. When this level of excitement occurs after 10pm, our Team reminds Guests to be conscious about others. In this particular case, we had to act accordingly and certainly apologize on their behalf as this was certainly not the case that the large majority of our Guests experience. We are delighted to hear you enjoy the extra space of your spacious two bedroom Suite. We certainly hope to have another opportunity to serve and impress you. Please feel free to contact us directly.

We stayed at the Blackcomb springs for 2 stays of 11 days each in the past 2 months. The hotel has been through multiple management companies over the past few years. It had been our place of choice for the past 12 years. The hotel has seen better days, there is no longer a free breakfast included, room cleaning is on request only and at most once every 3 days. Parking with taxes is 26$ per night which adds up for longer stays. We arrived at noon and planned on hitting the slopes for the afternoon, we checked in as we needed to park and we’re told that for an extra 20$ we could have our room right away… I couldn’t believe that on a stay of 11 nights they would not give us our room that was already cleaned and ready for us. Petty and enough of an annoyance to make us stay elsewhere going forward. For the price there are nicer and larger units available that are within walking distance to the village with free parking! Heading to the Horstman House for our next stay.

Dear Jacqueline K, Thank you very much for sharing the details of your recent stays. While we acknowledge that seeing similar decor for the past 12 years would have a visual impact, we must mention that the upkeep of the property is something we pride on. Our Suites are being upgraded with new stainless steel appliances and large HD TVs in most Suites. While free breakfast is no longer included, we offer breakfast options that are delivered to your Suite; we are sorry to learn you did not take advantage of them. Parking is one of the most affordable in Whistler, at $23 per night, your car is always covered and protected from the elements. We sincerely hope to have another opportunity to allow us to make it right for you on your next stay so you continue choosing us for the next 12 years.

We have stayed here for years but are sad to say it will be our last unless things change. We arrived from the UK to find that the hotel no longer did breakfast but as we had deferred the holiday due to Covid we had actually paid for it. The hotel weren’t interested and we had to contact our travel company who fortunately paid for our breakfasts. We spoke with the manager who kindly provided a breakfast free on our first day as we had arrived late at night and had nothing to eat or drink.
We were then told about the transit strike. This hotel is on Blackcomb mountain and so a bus journey is needed to get in to Whistler. The hotel provided a minibus which only ran until 8:30pm and could only carry 11 people for the entire hotel. We had to either use the gondola or get a taxi back unless we wanted to be back in the room early, not something we do on holiday.
There are two hot tubs and a pool, which you now have to book and can only use for 30 mins. I understand why this was the case during Covid but no one really room any notice of the bookings and the tubs were often full of groups preventing others from using. None of the staff monitored the area so it was totally pointless.
We had to book a room clean or a towel change which during Covid I understand but not now. It was clearly a cost cutting exercise with the excuse of Covid. I don’t see things returning to normal here.
We found the rooms to be dark and dated, all of the suites back directly on to the mountain so there is no view other than the hill and lots of trees which make the rooms dark. The balcony’s are a waste of time and would be better removed to make the room bigger and brighter.
We are so disappointed with this place, the new owners Cliche are cutting costs at the expense of the guests and using Covid as an excuse - it’s not good. There are much better hotels in Whistler village and we will stay there in future.

Dear ClaireP, Thank you for sharing your review. We are deeply sorry to learn that your expectations were not met. Under the recent covid-related climate, we rapidly adapted to the orders issued by the provincial health authorities. During your stay, we had to face an unexpected BC Transit drivers strike, to which we reacted rapidly by adding a shuttle that runs constantly on a loop to the Village, and which has been a total success. We understand that not all Guests go at one time, therefore the capacity has worked very well. I must clarify a misunderstanding, as the reservation system for hot tubs was not in place during your stay, while the 30-minute self-managed limit was, which will continue in place in an effort to avoid our guests from overheating. Our Housekeeping Team continues providing service, which unfortunately is not performed when the do not disturb sign is left outside the Suite door. We look forward to having another opportunity to welcome and impress you with our renowned location, service and hospitality.

We stayed here for 5 nights, a couple in the studio suite. The main advantage of this hotel is the location for skiers - on the slope, a true ski in—ski out experience. The staff at the ski rental were also super nice and very professional, and gave us great rentals.
Everything else about this hotel is slightly disappointing. The hotel looks very outdated, and because everyone take their ski boots with them to their room, the floor is wet everywhere and smells like mold. Although we were told during check in that rooms our cleaned daily, no one even picked up the trash during our stay, so our garbage bins were overflowing. The hot tubs were nice, but always super crowded. The biggest issue of them all, is the shuttle. The hotel is not located in the village, so there are no restaurants next to it. To get to the village, were you can get dinner or hangout, is a shuttle going every 30 minutes. But the shuttle is small and contains only 10 seats (especially compared to other hotels’ shuttles that we’ve seen here), and is always packed so we ended up waiting for about an hour most of the times. All in all, probably not the worst option out there, but definitely not the best…

Dear Dannarose, Thank you for sharing your review. The shortcomings mentioned regarding our housekeeping services are absolutely not acceptable. Therefore, in addition to extending our profound apologies, we have taken your review to the appropriate Team Leaders as this inexcusable lack of service is not a representation of the world-class service that we are known for. Being a ski resort, we understand and know the challenges that come with it, therefore we conduct daily cleaning and constant deep cleaning of the common areas and Suites. While the positive comments about the welcoming scent in our lobby and common areas are overwhelming, we are terribly sorry you did not notice it. While our shuttle operates on a set schedule, with departures on the hour and minute 30, we increase frequency to every 15 minutes during busy evening hours to better serve our Guests, who prefer the quiet and secluded location of our hotel to the noisy rooms in the Village. The Team at Blackcomb Springs Suites sincerely hope to have another opportunity to serve and impress you.

As the title states of this review, we had the most AHHHHHHmazing stay at the Blackcomb Springs Resort & Suites this past weekend!! This mini belated Christmas getaway was perfect in every way in addition to being so very relaxing! Every staff member we encountered whether management, front desk, ski shop or housekeeping was very friendly, welcoming, and happy to help with a great big smile! Our pet friendly room was both warm and cozy. It was nicely decorated with stunning canvas photographs of Whistler landscapes. After a long cold day outdoors, it was nice to come back to our room and enjoy warming up by the fireplace, and making our plant based dinners in our own fully equipped kitchenette. It was our first time staying slopeside in Whistler, and it was AWESOME!! You walk out the backside of the resort, and you’re literally right on the ski run that takes you directly to the new Blackcomb gondola! Also, when you decide to call it a day, you ski right back down to the resort! - it truly doesn’t get any better than that! Heartfelt thanks to the entire team at Blackcomb Springs Resort & Suites for making our stay such a wonderful and memorable one - we hope to return someday soon! :)

I heard about this property from a co-worker. We spoke with Dwayne to make our reservations,
and incidentally Dwayne was the agent to check us in. He did an excellent job making us feel welcomed, he was couteous and professional. Our family booked a studio loft; queen bed and pull out sofa. There was sufficient space and we even had a small balcony. The suite was clean and inviting, with just the right appliances for our stay. Due to Covid we didnt have Housekeeping services but a single call was all that was needed for additional amenities. Overall our stay at Blackcomb Spring Suites enhanced our holiday experience and we look forward to staying at this property again some time soon. Highly recommend.

The place is extremely clean and equipped with good facilities overall. Only downside being a lack of kitchen in the hotel for breakfast etc. However, you can get things from the store nearby and cook something for yourself. Clean, affordable - If you have a vehicle, it is perfectly value for money as you then save those 10 dollars for the 5 minute cab ride to whistler village square.
