We stayed at the Crystal Lodge in July 2020 for a couple of days during a family road trip to get away for a little while and try to feel normal again in these crazy times. We’d never been to Whistler before. The hotel is in a convenient location, right in a busy area of the Village so you can walk to all of the stores and attractions. We did a walk-in booking. We were given a great deal, put in one room the first night and moved to another for the remainder of the stay the next day. The 2nd room was huge, overlooked the main walk of the village and very comfortable, clean and mostly quiet. Pets are very welcome here, given a welcome pack of a blanket, poop bags, treats, a “do not disturb” door hanger and bowls to use. We had 2 dogs, they each got one of these packs. When we moved rooms, we assumed we’d have to bring our original packs with us but the staff had the new room set up for the dogs already waiting for us. Nice touch. The hotel does not have meals included which sucks but there are restaurants and cafes inside the same building & close to many other options that are walking distance. Parking isn’t free and can be an issue so be prepared to have to pay or walk to a parkade.

The only reason we gave this 4 stars was due to the cleaners being extremely loud when in the hallways. We had our door hanger up to Alert that we had dogs inside but it didn’t matter. The noise level made our dogs whimper at hearing them. One day we went to explore the village briefly and dogs were permitted to stay in the room (nice touch as most hotels won’t allow this). Shortly after we left we got a call from the front desk telling us the cleaners reported that our dogs were making a lot of noise and upset that we were gone. We know our dogs and that they would whimper quietly at hearing someone but that’s it. But we returned since we don’t want them to bother anyone. We approached our room quietly and all the way from the elevator to our room including quietly standing outside our door, there wasn’t a peep. The front desk takes the word of the cleaners instead of verifying before calling so we felt targeted by the cleaners and judged by front desk for leaving the dogs. If the cleaners didn’t act like they were at an outdoor football game yelling loudly at each other, there would be no issue. We recommend being a little more cognizant of the voice level as people may be napping or there may be pets.

Otherwise great stay, would recommend & stay again

We had a wonderful wonderful holiday in Whistler at the end of February/beginning of March for 10nights.

We've stayed at the Crystal Lodge before and really loved it yet again. The staff were fantastic, every member of staff always says hello when you pass. We were in a King room at the back on the first floor with a large balcony; my husband loved it as we could see the hot tub out the back and if it was busy or not!

The room was spotlessly cleaned every day; we made use of the boot drying room and used the Crystal discount card in the shops.

The Crystal is in the perfect location at the heart of the village centre. Our only negative is that the breakfast restaurant closed in October and they hadn't found a new occupier, however this made us explore elsewhere for breakfast and we enjoyed a bakery across the road.

I put through a brief review immediately after we left through the Crystal's automated feedback but unsure if it went through, I feel it is important, now especially the resort has closed for the ski season to recommend the Crystal unreservedly for those looking for next season. We hope we are lucky enough to come back in 2021.

Victoria, thank you very much for taking the time to post your feedback following your 10 night February visit. We are delighted that you had such a memorable experience and very much look forward to welcoming you back when it is safe to do so again. Our temporary closure has allowed us the time to complete an extensive renovation of the North Wing guest rooms and corridors. Despite stringent social distancing protocols needing to be followed the project is moving along well. Warmest regards, Ian Lowe

Absolutely loved our stay at the Crystal Lodge. We loved the fact we were so close to everything and we loved walking around whistler village. Everything you need is right at your doorstep. We travelled to our hotel from Vancouver airport using the Luxbus service, once we arrived we were greeted with a gorgeous lobby and friendly staff.

The staff at the crystal were extremely helpful and always pleasant, from collecting our skiis at the end of our day and storing them for us to greeting us with fresh apple cider most days, one day I was greeted with a hotel chocolate with a nip of Baileys :)

Special mention to Celine who was always happy and helpful and did a great job at cleaning our room.
Other staff mentions we must say thank you to were Stephanie who made the whole booking experience a great one with organising our lift tickets, ski hire and transport from the airport and to our next location. Lachlan, Robbie, Sarah and Connor, wether they were working the lobby desk or simply giving us guidance on things to do in whistler we really appreciated the help your staff provided

Your team of staff really make the hotel worth staying at. These guys were always so accommodating and helpful it just made our stay easy and a great memory for the whole family.

If we make it back to whistler we will definitely be booking back at the Crystal lodge.

Thanks guys.

We stayed here in 2016, 2018 and returned in 2020 expecting the same standard of cleanliness and service but were disappointed to find that both were to a lesser standard. - very little cleaning was undertaken in the rooms and other services had been 'clipped'.
The location and rooms were obviously the same as they are unchangable but all other controllables were to a lesser standard

Thank you very much for caring enough about our business to provide us with focused feedback from your recent visit. Although disappointed that you felt the cleaning standards to have slipped, I can ensure you we have not scaled anything back and instead have increased our resources especially with the recent COVID-19 Pandemic concerns. I will share your feedback with the team in an effort to ensure that we are not losing our strong reputation for providing an exceptionally clean product. Kind regards, Ian Lowe

We stayed at the Crystal Lodge for a family member’s milestone birthday and it was a great stay. Staff were helpful and polite and texted ahead of our arrival to see if they could help with anything.
We stayed in a newly renovated deluxe king studio - very spacious & clean & new, loved the décor including the lighting in the bathroom.
Other members of our party had the 2-level loft suites with village views, which were very nice.
Located right in Whistler Village, we were close to everything, with a Starbucks & Old Spaghetti Factory conveniently on the lobby level.
Covid precautions were in effect but we could still enjoy the pool or hot tub by calling the front desk to reserve a time.
The only thing we were surprised by was the $24/day for parking - obviously most people drive to Whistler and we feel it should’ve been included with our stay or at least, not so pricey 😐
But the staff & service & location were fantastic!
We would stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay in the Crystal Lodge (again) from 26th February, returning 7th March 2020. We think we got a room upgrade as we ended up with a balcony which was nice (we used it a few times despite the snow). The hotel is excellent value for money, especially given the location and we made use of the boot drying room most days given the weather on the mountain. We made use of the complimentary discount cards in the shops associated with the Crystal lodge and had a nice drink at Basalt. Unfortunately the Wildwood closed in October so we couldn't eat breakfast in the hotel. We would definitely return here.

Thank you very much for returning to the Crystal Lodge last month. We are pleased that you had another positive experience and that you felt there was strong value for the money. We are looking for a new breakfast tenant where Wildwood used to operate as we agree this offers a key service for our guests. We look forward to welcoming you back again in the future. Stayed 10 nights. Nice lobby. Friendly welcome. Useful ski valet for ski and pole storage overnight and heaters on each floor to dry boots and gloves. Laundry on each floor also very helpful. Super comfy beds and powerful hot showers. We found storage very limited in our rooms which were functional but adequate. Very well located for ski hire and restaurants and there is a small Starbucks just above the lobby area which was useful for speedy breakfasts. Close to the two main gondolas to access Whistler and Blackcomb slopes so great as a skiing location. Good lounge for apres ski with excellent food ((their BBQ wings are exceptional) and lots of big screens showing a range of sports and extreme skiing. Noisy but not too much. The Old Spaghetti Factory in the hotel is also reasonably priced and popular for dinner.

We originally booked a Deluxe king studio through Expedia but upgraded to a 1 bedroom king suite as I need a walk in shower and space to park my mobility scooter. After speaking to the reservations staff about my concerns they suggested the room we booked. It exceeded our expectations giving us ample room for visiting with friends (also booked into this hotel). This hotel has recently been upgraded. All furniture was comfortable, the room very clean. Where we were it was a quiet place to rest our head after a busy day. The staff was friendly and courteous. If you book a package parking is free other than that there is a charge to park your car. A happy place this is to stay. Our next stay in Whistler will bring us back to the Crystal Lodge.

My husband & I stayed for 4 nights with our 6 month old lab puppy and an adjoining room was given to us. We were worried that our puppy might occasionally bark and the guest next door might complain. Mitch from Reception was really helpful to find a way to transfer us even if I feel that they're fully booked. The staff from the reception, people at the offices near by to the housekeeping are friendly and greeted their guests. Knowledgeable staff to answer our questions. The bike package is really superb on our needs for the good price that we paid for. The hotel is classy compared to the other hotels. I love the location too, few steps away from the bike park, The Old Spaghetti restaurant, a hair salon, and Starbucks are just within the viscinity, that add up to the value of the hotel.

One thing that I could comment about is the room. It is a bit small and tight for guests but it is clean and tidy with extra neccessities provided for guests. We had a limited access with the pool because it is tight for a number of different guests. So we decided not to go swimming as covid-19 precaution and not to join the crowd in the area.

Overall, our stay is excellent. I would definitely be back and recommend Crystal Lodge to my friends and family.

Juna, thank you very much for taking the time to provide us with a detailed review from your recent stay here at the Crystal Lodge. We are proud that Mitch and our service team highlighted your experience. Should you be looking for a room that offers a larger floorplan, I would recommend one of our Deluxe suites as these recently renovated rooms are significantly larger than the Crystal single, double or king rooms. We thank you for your recommendation! Sincerly, Ian Lowe

This hotel really excelled in all aspects, especially during Covid. It was spotless and disinfected regularly. It was very easy to book pool/hot tub and gym sessions that were cleaned after every use. Our room met expectations and was quiet during our entire 2 week stay. This hotel is right at the base of Whistler on the village stroll beside everything you could possibly want or need. My daughter loved the robes they supplied for your stay. This hotel has such a warm and welcoming atmosphere with extremely friendly staff that will go out of their way to make your stay as best as it can be. Will be returning here!
(I actually hope they continue with booking hot tub sessions as it prevents visitors "overstaying" and thus allows everyone to enjoy!)
