As noted in previous reviews, the location of the Listel is one of its main draws: only about 5 minutes walk from the Whistler and Excaliber gondalas but behind the main thoroughfare so very quiet. Also as noted previously, the hotel is very clean, both in public areas and in the rooms. The decor is somewhat tired but not in a battered or broken way, just jaded. The beds were very comfortable. However, the walls are paper-thin so the clump of ski boots is very audible, as are the conversations in the corridors or the room next door. It wasn't helped that we had a large crowd of young adults trying to have a rave both in the corridor and in the room next door. The staff did, however, deal with it very quickly. One of the biggest issues was the heating, or lack of. Heating is supplied via a large fan heater arrangement that looks like it has been there since the 1980s. It does not warm up the rooms and is very noisy and drying and it has to be on all the time as the heat dissipates quickly. We were there during the cold spell when it was about -26 degrees centigrade and there was ice on the inside of the windows. Which, it turned out were only single glazed. There is no radiator or heating rail in the bathroom so nowhere to dry ski clothes. Not even a rack to put them in front of the fan heater. It also seems a bit of a retrograde step not to have any breakfast provision at all. Especially as there used to be at this hotel. Not much is needed - just pastries, fruit and coffee possibly. Trying to hunt around for breakfast before skiing is not ideal. We ended up just buying pastries from the supermarket the night before. The ski valet is good in that its somewhere to put the skis but nowhere to dry out/warm up boots. All in all, if I was visiting Whistler again, I would happily consider this hotel. But I won't be visiting Whistler again.

Great little hotel away from the hustle and bustle of the main drag. Room was adequate, and a good size. Close enough to walk to restaurants and main activities. Close to golf course if you want to have a hot

Super great value, especially for the size of the room and the location. Such an easy walk to the gondola and so close to all the restaurants and shops in the village, yet the hotel does not directly face the village so you are spared from the hustle and bustle on the streets. One thing to note is that the doors/walls facing the hallway are rather thin. We were woken up every morning by people talking loudly in the hallway, having speakerphone conversations, etc… which actually worked out well because we wanted to wake up early for the mountain anyway. Being able to hear all hallway activity is just something to be mindful of. Ski/snowboard valet was convenient and service was also wonderful. Parking costs ~29 CAD per night, which really isn’t as bad as some other places. It’s a secure, underground garage, big enough to find a spot but small enough that bringing all our gear to the elevator wasn’t hard at all.

We have stayed at the Listel many times over the years, and it is usually quite nice. On this trip I upgraded to a junior suite so I could work in the afternoons. Room 237 is a disaster: Instead of charging a premium, think I should have received a discount. There is a sofa and coffee table set up directly in front of the bathroom door. Lighting is minimalist at best: Three table lamps with low wattage bulbs. No desk. One electrical outlet in the room with two old style USB outlets. Had to quit skiing early to charge my boot heaters so I could charge my phone and watch before bed. There is another outlet in the bathroom that I had to use to warm tea water. Avoid room 237. On the plus side, Listel staff is great, the location is excellent, and most rooms are laid out in a proper manner.

Clean rooms and a great location right in the village centre. 5-10 minute walk to most everything you need to get to in the town. 5 minute walk to the gondola up to the peak2peak. Also has a fantastic bistro in it which is one of top 100 restaurants in Canada.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Rooms spacious and clean, beds very comfortable. It’s really well located - 2 minute walk to the centre of Whistler but tucked away enough to be quiet. Parking very handy given the central location. Would definitely stay again if in the area

This is a solid value and well-run hotel. The counter staff are courteous and helpful and the rooms are well appointed, comfortable and exceptionally clean, if a little dated. There were plenty of pillows and a coffee machine (hooray! Not everyone has these, surprisingly). One of the nice touches was the bedside clock with the charging pad on top – much appreciated. The facilities are good and it’s a relatively small facility and there are some ‘resort’ features but I didn’t use them. It’s a little off the main village path but still only a few minutes walk from everything. I really liked this hotel and recommend it. If it wasn't for some of the wear, I'd have given it five stars. Thank you!

Hello Colin, Thanks for the positive feedback regarding our hotel! I'm happy to hear the coffee machine was an appreciated amenity and I hope your morning coffee in the room was a great first step to your day in Whistler! It sounds like you enjoyed the location! A few steps off the village stroll can definitely be helpful on some of those very busy weekend nights in the village. We look forward to seeing you again on your next visit to Whistler!

Very nice hotel, convenient location, comfortable and clean rooms. Hot tub's and sauna area very nice, but a little small. Overall good experience. We didn't have time to partake but they have an interesting ice vodka room on site.

I was in Whistler visiting family and the mountain and stsyed at The Listel for 8 nights. There is a lot to like about The Listel being: - cleanliness - comfortable - helpful and very personable staff - top location 2 minutes from the Gondola and even less from the shops and restaurants - drying room - value for money. A good value choice.
