We arrived, my friend and I, for the Whistler film festival— dead of winter; and the heat didn’t work in the hotel. Multiple guests were in the lobby complaining their rooms had no heat. And when we tried to talk to the owners about it, hoping to find a solution, they immediately antagonized us, being blunt and rude telling us the heat worked and started raising their voices and got aggressive with us. Never experienced anything like this in my life. We tried to talk calmly with the owners but they got so heated and aggressive that we no longer felt comfortable staying in the hotel and after they refused to give us a refund despite their attitude and the heat not working we left anyway as we felt so uncomfortable. Do not stay here.

The location and the friendly staff in my opinion are the good things about this hotel. The check in is extremely late! 4pm is an absurd. They don’t even have a properly lobby or bathrooms if you wanna wait until you can go in your bedroom. The bedroom is fine for a 3 stars hotel, but I found dirty dishes so made me wonder if they actually cleaned the bedroom, I hope at least sheets and towels were fresh. AC is too noisy. Pool, hot tube and sauna are good but there is not enough space around them. They say that you can message them but they never answer you back. They charged $250 on my credit card as a security deposit but I never got the transaction canceled, I already contacted them 3 times but no answer. They said was going to be only a pre authorization but I was actually charged, and since I didn’t break anything I shouldn’t have been charged!!!

I had originally booked my overnight stay on Expedia. I contacted the hotel to book a second night, and that’s when the guest service nightmare began. I was quoted $100 higher for a second night - in November on a Sunday and then the manager got aggravated when I was explaining to him that every other hotel that was in the same category was $150 cheaper. He then proceeded to tell me he “didn’t care” where I stayed, and that any other hotel in the area was at least 45 minute walk to the village, which is an absolute lie. the only reason I stayed was for the ease of not having to move hotels- as I had an event to go to and needed to get ready. Upon check-in at the hotel, he yelled at people who were passing through the hotel, and then explained to us how frustrated he was about the people passing through while we stood there for 10 minutes, listening to him VENT just wanting to get to our hotel room. We were then told that they were absolutely no visitors allowed in the room at any time. Which came is an absolute surprise. I was told that I had to come and switch keys the next day because one reservation was on Expedia, and one was made with the hotel. But he was “doing me a favour” by keeping me in the same room so it was a win-win for all. The next morning, we got an aggressive phone call at 10:45 from the front desk agent to let us know that they were charging us extra money because we had not checked out at 10 o’clock. I then had to explain to the front desk agent that we were staying an extra night (had a reservation ) and we were in the same room so we did not need to check out. The manager got on the phone to tell me that I had to come downstairs and get my keys right away which was not possible so I told him I would get my keys when I got there. Every interaction with the manager was awful. Overall, it was a very hostile environment. Not relaxing and I would never ever ever ever stay at The Blackcomb Lodge again. I am a long time local of Whistler and have lived and worked in the guest service /restaurant /hotel industry for 40 years and this is the worst service I’ve ever had, and I am embarrassed to even think what a tourist would ever think if this was their first experience in Whistler.

Excellent location, it’s the best location I have ever been in Whistler. The customer service was excellent too. We had a large and comfortable room. The pillows and the bed was so comfortable. We had a kitchen with all the necessary appliances, the manager was very friendly, polite and gave us an upgrade. I’ll definitely going back to Blackbomb Lodge.

Perfect location, right next to everything you need. My family and I felt very safe. You have to buzz to get into the hotel but when you’re checked in they give you a key card for easy access in and out of the hotel. It’s 2 minutes walk from the gondola. Great bars and restaurants around the area that were suggested by the really friendly front desk staff. The rooms were spacious with a full kitchen and very clean. The indoor hot tub and pool were a great touch as we were coming in from the cold weather.
