As a family of four we had a great time at Tantalus resort lodge. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite. Compared to the other rooms available in Whistler village, we had plenty of space (two bedrooms and a large living room/kitchen) for a similar price to smaller rooms at other hotels more centrally located. The second bedroom also had two single beds which was perfect for the kids.

There was pleasant view of trees from the balcony and a log fire in the room. My kids loved the spa/pool area. There was short walk to the ski lifts and a shuttle bus was also also available for the days when the walk to village felt too much.

If you want to experience a laid back ski lodge atmosphere rather than the central, compact and more modern hotels in the village then I'd recommend Tantalus lodge.

This property is unique with all suites being at least 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. We found our suite to be spacious with a full size kitchen, dining and living room. It's perfect for two couples or a family. For a couple, the hotel can lock up one bedroom and one bathroom then only charge you for a 1 bedroom. We found the rates to be good value during the height of high season. The decor is basic and the carpet is dated by everything else was clean and comfortable. They even had robes. One of the advantages of this hotel is the location. It's at the edge of the village - only a few minutes walk from the center - which is perfect when you want a quiet night's rest. Other advantages: ample covered parking, huge outdoor pool and hot tubs. Best of all was the staff - very accommodating and welcoming.

Excellent value for money
Everyone is nice and helpful
The rooms are spacious and well equipped. The decoration a little Veillotte but it is not shocking.
The shuttle service between the hotel and the bottom of the slopes (2 minutes drive) is very appreciable morning and evening. It allows you not to wear the skis
And in the evening we are 5 minutes walk from the center of whistler with restaurant, shop, atmosphere ..
The hot tube after the day and perfect.
We had a great time.

We had first stayed at the Tantalus Lodge about 13 years ago and had a wonderful experience. The facilities are somewhat dated, but very clean. They provided the proper bed configuration for our family. By mid afternoon of the first day, we still had not received housekeeping services, even though the website states daily housekeeping and there was the usual card in the bathroom about reusing your towels. I called the front desk, and was told that housekeeping is only provided on the 3rd day. Since we were only staying 4 nights this seemed a little silly, but I did not say anything. However, no one ever showed up to clean our room. The trash was overflowing by the time we checked out. There is a full kitchen, and we only cooked breakfast. Imagine if we had cooked dinner too! Guests should be notified at check in what the policy is, and a procedure should be implemented to handle trash. In addition, the towels were extremely flimsy, and difficult to use so many days in a row.

This was our second stay here-the first was cut short due to COVID and we couldn’t wait to get back. Apartment had everything we needed for our stay. Comfy beds and pillows. Housekeeping staff were very good and if we felt we didn’t need services there was no problem. Reception staff helpful when needed. Located a short walk from main shops, lifts etc which can be an issue in ski gear but a great shuttle service is available and Jaques, the driver is fantastic. If we travel to Whistler again we will certainly choose to stay here; UK based travellers. Thanks to all staff.

Stayed here for 2 nights and was very pleased with our stay. The lodge is positioned very close to the whistler gondola - a brisk 5 minute walk or 10 minute walk with equipment. While the lodge isn’t in the village, it’s lower price and proximity to the gondola more than make up for it. There are hotels in the village that are much further away from the gondola. The two bedroom suite was comfortable with a full kitchen, living room, dining area and two bathrooms. While it wasn’t the newest suite it was perfectly livable. Would definitely stay here again if we were to come back to whistler.

I think I first visited the Tantalus Lodge about 20 years ago; since then, I have visited several times. I have tried other places in Whistler village but always come back to the Tantalus. Not a lot has seemingly changed in those 20 years; I pretty much remember the same carpets, furniture, fixtures, and fittings in the rooms, and the facilities are the same, IIRC. That's not to say that it is tired (maybe a little frayed around the edges 😊), just perhaps a bit dated. I think that is potentially my only criticism and maybe why I can't quite bring myself to give it 5/5 (I will say 4.5/5.0).

For that slight negative, there are plenty of positives…
For me, traveling from the UK, its the best value accommodation in the village – I can be closer, but pay an awful lot more money for a smaller room.
It has everything I need to have a great time on the snow. It's a short walk (or use the shuttle bus if starting/ending a day on the slopes) to the centre, and that is fine for me (helps walk off some of the apres-ski beer).

The rooms are warm and a good size (although I wish the single beds could be a little larger). The kitchen is sufficient enough for a decent daily breakfast and occasional evening cook (when Whistlers restaurant choice gets overwhelming).

All the staff I have met over the years have been cheerful and helpful.

I will be coming back again (and probably again after that..)

This is a great hotel only a few minutes walk from Whistler Village with nice, spacious rooms with great facilities. We stayed here as a family of 5 (4 adults and one 15 year old) and found there was plenty of space for us all.
The kitchen was great and the dining area/lounge had plenty of room to eat and prepare food.
Staff were great - friendly and courteous. One nice touch for the hotel is they waived the usual parking fee as we had a disabled traveller with us. Not all hotels (where they charge) have done this before.
As mentioned the location is fantastic - it took 5 minutes to walk into the village yet the hotel is very quiet at night.
Overall we would definitely stay here again if visiting Whistler.

Great sized two bedroom self contained suite. Everything you needed and only a short walk to the village cafes and restaurants. Location is far enough away from village noise but there is some road traffic noise. Heater in the suite worked very well, room was warm in no time. Great sized balcony.

Almost time for a refresh/update.
