Family suite was very spacious and comfy! Great customer service, and very friendly staff. Hassan is a very nice guy, was making sure we were not missing anything. Conveniently located, about 10 min walk to downtown. the lodge provided access to swimming pool, hot tub and Sauna Would definitely recommend the place to a friend!
This is a great hotel only a few minutes walk from Whistler Village with nice, spacious rooms with great facilities. We stayed here as a family of 5 (4 adults and one 15 year old) and found there was plenty of space for us all. The kitchen was great and the dining area/lounge had plenty of room to eat and prepare food. Staff were great - friendly and courteous. One nice touch for the hotel is they waived the usual parking fee as we had a disabled traveller with us. Not all hotels (where they charge) have done this before. As mentioned the location is fantastic - it took 5 minutes to walk into the village yet the hotel is very quiet at night. Overall we would definitely stay here again if visiting Whistler.
This property is unique with all suites being at least 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. We found our suite to be spacious with a full size kitchen, dining and living room. It's perfect for two couples or a family. For a couple, the hotel can lock up one bedroom and one bathroom then only charge you for a 1 bedroom. We found the rates to be good value during the height of high season. The decor is basic and the carpet is dated by everything else was clean and comfortable. They even had robes. One of the advantages of this hotel is the location. It's at the edge of the village - only a few minutes walk from the center - which is perfect when you want a quiet night's rest. Other advantages: ample covered parking, huge outdoor pool and hot tubs. Best of all was the staff - very accommodating and welcoming.…
We stayed here for a family ski holiday end of February 2022. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite for 4 adults. It was everything we expected and was as described. It provides a comfortable stay in a good location. The ski bus was a fantastic plus to the experience. There isn’t any housekeeping provided probably due to Covid which didn’t bother us however there could be a little information leaflet to explain how to get rid of the rubbish and how to change the towels as we were there for 11 nights. The hot tub and pool was also a positive addition after a day skiing. You won’t be disappointed.
Stayed here for 2 nights and was very pleased with our stay. The lodge is positioned very close to the whistler gondola - a brisk 5 minute walk or 10 minute walk with equipment. While the lodge isn’t in the village, it’s lower price and proximity to the gondola more than make up for it. There are hotels in the village that are much further away from the gondola. The two bedroom suite was comfortable with a full kitchen, living room, dining area and two bathrooms. While it wasn’t the newest suite it was perfectly livable. Would definitely stay here again if we were to come back to whistler.
My husband has been staying here for 30 years for his annual guys golfing get a away. We have stayed there a few times as well over the years. Good location for easy access to the village. Rooms are spacious and provide good options when staying with friends.
I think I first visited the Tantalus Lodge about 20 years ago; since then, I have visited several times. I have tried other places in Whistler village but always come back to the Tantalus. Not a lot has seemingly changed in those 20 years; I pretty much remember the same carpets, furniture, fixtures, and fittings in the rooms, and the facilities are the same, IIRC. That's not to say that it is tired (maybe a little frayed around the edges 😊), just perhaps a bit dated. I think that is potentially my only criticism and maybe why I can't quite bring myself to give it 5/5 (I will say 4.5/5.0). For that slight negative, there are plenty of positives… For me, traveling from the UK, its the best value accommodation in the village – I can be closer, but pay an awful lot more money for a smaller room. It has everything I need to have a great time on the snow. It's a short walk (or use the shuttle bus if starting/ending a day on the slopes) to the centre, and that is fine for me (helps walk off some of the apres-ski beer). The rooms are warm and a good size (although I wish the single beds could be a little larger). The kitchen is sufficient enough for a decent daily breakfast and occasional evening cook (when Whistlers restaurant choice gets overwhelming). All the staff I have met over the years have been cheerful and helpful. I will be coming back again (and probably again after that..)…
We have stayed here for 4 weekends so far this season. Old school but well run and maintained lodge near the village base with nice sized suites We like the hotel but the reason we will keep coming back is the staff. Always friendly and helpful. They give this place a great vibe and my family loves it. The Tantalus team is five star.
I had booked a one night stay with my girlfriend for January 2, 2022. One of us came down with Covid 19 symptoms a couple of days earlier and on the 2nd was still showing signs. I called the hotel and was told " that's too bad" no refunds no change of dates, lost $461 by adhering to the rules set by BC Government and taking the responsible action of not submitting other guests and hotel staff to potential infection. I asked if we could change dates but was told, no. Will never use this resort in the future due to their irresponsible and poor customer service attitude.
This review is based on service of the hotel reception staff and the work ethic the hotel appears to be operating under. My wife booked a suite for 5 days starting 17/12. Deposit was due to be taken 45 days before hand. Deposit was never taken, we checked and was told don’t worry and now 4 days before we were due to take up residence our family coming from the UK have had to cancel due to COVID restrictions My wife phoned the hotel and informed them and the reservation was cancelled without any request for payment or loss of deposit. So without even staying we just felt it was right to give the 5* write up for the courtesy and professionalism in these trying times. Thank you Tantalus Lodge and we hope to see you in 2022
