Hotel's Favourite
We had a great stay at Tantalus. It was a friends and family get together and we had 4 rooms booked for one night. Location is amazing and room size was wonderful. We only met one staff during out stay and she was the one who checked us in. She was amazing. (sorry missed her name). Would be back soon. We unfortunately could not use the pool and other facilities of the hotel.

Stayed here for a short Whistler visit in late September, we have stayed in many Whistler hotels over the years and this was our first time in this resort that is tucked away out of sight and away from the village noise, yet a short 5 minute walk to Skiers Plaza. The little ones may groan at the small bump of a hill and it won't be the easiest trek in ski boots, but definitely a 'walk to the lifts' place in winter. Pros are location to the village, quiet, and pleasant staff on the front desk. I see a note that new management intends on keeping the bits of ski nostalgia and I think that is a great idea. The bed was also comfortable. Parking is $25 which is reasonable for the proximity to the village. Cons are that it is a very dark and dated property, and the swimming pool is smaller and adjacent to the parking lot, and you have to walk across the main driveway to access it (we did not, despite bringing our suits). Appliances in the kitchen were low end basic stuff. If you are looking for a true resort experience, a place you'd be proud to take your family and hang out there in the evenings, I'd recommend you pay a little more and go elsewhere at least until the property is updated. If you don't plan on spending time on the property and are just using it to sleep and make your own meals while you enjoy Whistler, then grab it at a good rate!

Hi Leadershipcanuck, Thank you for your review. We are happy you enjoyed your stay. As you indicated, we are in the process of up-dating the hotel. In fact, you will be happy to hear we have renovated the lobby while keeping our vision to bring back the property to its nostalgia ski lodge look and feel. We have also added a barrel sauna in the pool area and renovating two demo rooms. I'm sure you will be pleasantly surprised with just a few of the amazing changes and additions we have made on your next visit to the Tantalus Lodge and we look forward to showcasing the changes. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Great sized two bedroom self contained suite. Everything you needed and only a short walk to the village cafes and restaurants. Location is far enough away from village noise but there is some road traffic noise. Heater in the suite worked very well, room was warm in no time. Great sized balcony. Almost time for a refresh/update.

The property is a bit run down and the outdoor deck seemed very flimsy. The living room is massive! Good for hosting! The room deco is unique and if you like the old school sports decor you’ll be fine but most people will probably not like it. The bed was very hard and I did not enjoy it. If you need a soft bed you won’t find it here. The washroom is very small and cramped. While dated, the best feature of this property is the full kitchen. You can cook you own meals and save yourself some money that way.

Hi djn3mo, Thank you for your review. We are delighted you stayed with us and enjoyed most of your visit. I am the new GM for the property and we will be moving forward with changes to the hotel in the months to come. The property is one of the oldest hotels in Whistler and we have kept some of the nostalgic decor from the 2010 Olympics which is symbolic for Whistler. We look forward to welcoming you back to Whistler and staying at the Tantalus Lodge Resort.

Good hotel, our suite was clean & comfortable & was well equipped. Also great location as just a short walk from Whistler centre. One little gripe was we gave our key to the Receptionist when checking out. Went to get our car from the parking garage but you needed the key to get in & so had to go back to reception.

We have just come home from 2 weeks here and had an amazing time. The apartment was spacious, well-equipped and spotlessly clean. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, and we can't wait to come back. Thanks for a brilliant holiday!

This was our second stay here-the first was cut short due to COVID and we couldn’t wait to get back. Apartment had everything we needed for our stay. Comfy beds and pillows. Housekeeping staff were very good and if we felt we didn’t need services there was no problem. Reception staff helpful when needed. Located a short walk from main shops, lifts etc which can be an issue in ski gear but a great shuttle service is available and Jaques, the driver is fantastic. If we travel to Whistler again we will certainly choose to stay here; UK based travellers. Thanks to all staff.

We had first stayed at the Tantalus Lodge about 13 years ago and had a wonderful experience. The facilities are somewhat dated, but very clean. They provided the proper bed configuration for our family. By mid afternoon of the first day, we still had not received housekeeping services, even though the website states daily housekeeping and there was the usual card in the bathroom about reusing your towels. I called the front desk, and was told that housekeeping is only provided on the 3rd day. Since we were only staying 4 nights this seemed a little silly, but I did not say anything. However, no one ever showed up to clean our room. The trash was overflowing by the time we checked out. There is a full kitchen, and we only cooked breakfast. Imagine if we had cooked dinner too! Guests should be notified at check in what the policy is, and a procedure should be implemented to handle trash. In addition, the towels were extremely flimsy, and difficult to use so many days in a row.

I’ve never seen this place looking so good. The cleanliness and tidying. The house keeping team and cleaning manger in the last year has really improved everything. Cant wait to go back again through the winter.
