We stayed as a family for a week during the summer from the US. The booking process was a bit odd and I recall that we did not really know what to expect. Well, we ended up with a beautiful 3 bedroom 3 bathroom 2 story apartment with a great view, and just loved it! The apartment was attractive, modern, clean and comfortable. Ours had big windows looking at mountains with clouds rolling in etc. We had a rental car and preferred the location outside of Whistler and still found it convenient to everything. It was very convenient to have our own washer dryer and we used the common hot tub and pool almost daily. There is daily housekeeping and a front desk in a nearby building but otherwise these feel like self serve apartments. With the US - Canada exchange rate at the time these were a big value for the money. Hope to stay here again another summer to enjoy all of the fun outdoor activities that Whistler has to offer.

We stayed here for a family skiing holiday because most of the reviews for the Village suggested nighttime noise issues (external noise from other venues, or other guests) or else were super expensive. While Creekside is a bit out of the action, if you are planning on eating in for a few nights (there is a supermarket) then there are enough meal venues to cater for the other nights without having to travel into the Village. The lodge was pretty busy but we never heard any noise from other guests. The rooms are big and really solid. The beds even the sofa bed were really good. If you have kids in ski school other than really little kids, then be aware you will need to drive into the village each day as you can’t get up the lifts and down to the village by 8.30. We found parking in the village really easy ($10/day). Only thing to suggest is that I would ask for a room facing the spas rather than the ski lifts, because on Friday and Saturday night there is noise from Dustys bar (why Whistler insists on allowing venues to play loud music to completely deserted outside seating areas which are too cold for anyone to sit in until the wee hours is something I’ve never understood).

Everything other reviews have said about how wonderful this place is is true. We have been coming to Whistler/Blackhome since 1985. Our grandkids are now all out of ski school. All this to say, we wished we had stayed here before this year. The rooms are much larger than the Greystone, Woodrun, etc. Both the 2 and 3 bedroom units had large dining tables so all 11 of us fit comfortably. If you needed something, it was there in 10 minutes. We had a problem and the management " made it up to us"without asking. Where do you get treated this way in this day and age. Fabulous place and of course the Peak to Creek run is the best on both mountains!

isn't in Whistler...'. When my wife told me that I said I really have to hear this for myself!

When I called I explained that the Canadian government has set aside a billion$ for firms to claim losses during this time, and this has been declared a global pandemic, Alona said their policy allowed us to rebook but no refund. So I tried a different way.

I said look we have stayed there before. We plan on staying in the future. We just don't know when so we are asking for a refund.

What I got back was this: '...You are at low risk of catching this virus in Whistler. No one else is closing down and it is business as usual.'

(Keep in mind this is over a month and a half in advance of the booking)

My advice to anyone booking here: They have decent accomodations, but obviously very poor customer service. We will not be staying at their properties regardless of their 'customer service' reps extolling their medical knowledge to assure us everything will be fine, but no we will not in any circumstance refund your money.

The laughable part of this is that as I explained to Alona, we will just call VISA anyway if they don't refund. This is all over nothing and you are losing a return customer.

We called VISA- and wow they said no problem we will cancel that.

In the meantime, other Whistler entities shutter operations (sensible move).

To First Tracks management: fire Alona and we will return. But not until then.

Cheers all

This would be a 5-star review if it was just about the quality of the property. Attractive with good amenities, and an outstanding location right near the gondola. Skiing in each day was a treat. you had your skis in the locker within a minute of finishing your last run.

The issue with this property is that a portion of the units face the little city center area. This means noise until about 11pm most nights from the (totally unnecessary) amplified outdoor music coming from the BBQ/Bar place across the street, and snow removal rigs starting to clear the streets at about 5:30am each morning. The problem is resolved if you can face away from this side of the building. we also had major music coming from the unit above one evening, were in unit 311, and the people in unit 411 were playing music at a level that permeated our entire unit. We called security, and about 45 mins later they must have told them it was not OK, but by then it was quite late and we had been kept awake.

It is a hotel where almost apartments are rented out. You have everything you need. There is also a washing machine/dryer. Parking spaces are available in the garage for around 15 CAD per day.

In the room I missed a short instruction on how the coffee machine works. Operating the washing machine is also not entirely self-explanatory. It is also unclear how the fireplace can be turned on.

There is a grill. But the instructions there are not helpful either. The housekeeping service had to be called. In the end you had to turn on the gas on the grill, lift the grate and light the grill that way. I find this a bit dangerous.

I recommend having the grills overhauled.

We love staying in Creekside- quieter at night, next to Dusty’s for apres, and better lodging for your dollar than in the Village. We’ve stayed at Legends, Lake Placid Lodge, and First Tracks. First Tracks is our favorite- next to the gondola, and less noise from Dusty’s than at Legends. We must have had the granddaddy 2 bedroom… first floor with gazebo window, tall fireplace, and rustic chandelier over the full sized dining table. The kitchen was huge. We could walk from our patio to Dusty’s and the gondola. Ski locker was right down the hall. Walls are solid, mattresses great. Dusty’s doesn’t currently have outdoor patio service, so I imagine during non-Covid times it could be louder on the weekends for rooms facing the gondola. Check in is at Legends, but super easy. Love this place.

BEWARE!! This is NOT a hotel. It’s individually owned units that vary in condition. The lobby is LOCKED and there is NO staff to assist with check-in, problems with the unit, or anything else that may come up. Nothing, not even the size of bed, is guaranteed. If you don’t like what you get when you arrive there is absolutely NO RECOURSE.

Excellent location at the bottom of the Creekside Gondola. Ski lockers are just a few feet away and the lodging was excellent. When the creekside gondola was not open we had free shuttle service to the whistler village and got a stamp to skip the main line. The lodge was quiet and there were 2 outdoor hot tubs (one for adults and second for families) and a heated pool. We were there during the arctic dump down to -4F so the hot tub was a necessity!!! We would go back in a heartbeat. Also, there is a market walking distance away and a few nice restaurants as well as Japanese noodle house (yum)! So although it’s not AT the main village, we had all the amenities without the crowd. There was also an EPIC counter at the bottom of the gondola. For those who don’t do blue and black runs, you can ride the gondola back down.

This was our first visit to First Tracks Lodge in Whistler. We popped up to Whistler Creekside for a mid-week getaway before the summer crowds arrive. We checked in at the Legends front desk that is next door, and we’re greeted warmly by Marie. She was very informative and friendly. Our room at First Tracks was really clean, elegant, and spacious. The property was very well maintained, and we quite enjoyed the pool and hot tub area. The lodge seems to geared towards adults, was very quiet and relaxing. We plan to return to First Tracks in the future.

has anyone else during this time of COVID-19 been refused a refund?

Often common sense logic is overlooked by those behind the so called scene. If a cancellation is in the best interest of a rental party my suggestion is to accept a future booking without restrictions. Should this option become unavailable make a stink as public info is certainly a guide to keep track of.

As far as we were concerned we were very happy with our room accommodations. Our unit overlooked the mountain and chairlifts. Our unit had 4 bedrooms and the whole apartment was very well equipped including a large flat TV. I would suggest that a request directly to the front desk about what you should expect would be the route to take.

The hotel does not provide transfer. With 4 of you you can take a taxi or bus . Bus fare is $2.50 per adult one way not sure about children. Waiting time longest for us on a cold cold night was 15 minutes. I would think average waiting time is less than 10 minutes. You can check bus schedule with concierge. Bus ride is 10 minutes to Whistler Village. Where you get off is an easy walk to most restaurants. We dined 4 nights on Creekside and 4 nights at Whistler. Creekside has many nice restaurants, including Dusty's BBQ, Red Door Bistro and Rim Rock Cafe. We also went to the Southside Diner for breakfast. By the way the Concierge will contact you a couple of weeks before your arrival to recommend restaurants per your taste. Most good restaurants ,like Red Door and Rim Rock needs to be booked Weeks in advance or you can't get in. First Track service is marvelous so trust them.
