We just returned from a lovely, four night stay at the Polar Inn and Suites in the heart of Churchill, Manitoba. The rooms are comfortable and cozy. The Inn itself is in close proximity to the main area of town, many of the Seawall Murals and the best part of all the beautiful community beach park! An amazing place to grab a coffee or a glass of wine and watch the majestic Beluga Whales frolic in the Hudson Bay.

The staff at the Polar Inn are down to earth, accommodating and knowledgeable; in our opinion they are the biggest assets to the Inn! A BIG shout out to the front desk staff Aubrie and Erin, who always greeted us with a warm smile and happily answered my countless questions. Thank-you for making our stay a memorable one!

The Inn offers a lovely continental breakfast but, be sure to get there early if you want to sample the delicious fresh made waffles. Some rooms also have a kitchen to cook your own meals if you are looking for a more budget friendly option. However, be prepared that groceries in Churchill or food in general is expensive due to the mode of transport used to get it there. There are some lovely restaurants close to the Inn as well, the Tundra Inn being our favourite. The homemade vegetarian borealis and bison burgers were delicious.

The Inn is also home to Sea North Tours where you can book a variety of amazing tours and get a firsthand experience with the town of Churchill and it’s awe inspiring nature/wildlife. They are an eco friendly company and the only ones that have protective prop guards on their boats to protect the belugas from injury. Something that was important to us when booking our tours. We booked the kayak and zodiac tour with the Belugas and both exceeded our expectations! We loved the kayak tour so much that we booked a second time but sadly Mother Nature had other plans that day and it was cancelled due to inclement weather. However, getting the chance to spend a couple of hours amongst these beautiful creatures, on our first tour, was heaven on earth and something we will treasure within our hearts. Oh and did I mention the guides… Nikia was our fun spirited, home grown zodiac guide who hands down made our trip even more amazing. We enjoyed hearing about her experiences growing up in Churchill and her love of the wildlife that call Churchill home. Her special, secret treat was one of the highlights along with getting to see our first polar bear in the wild. Unfortunately, we can’t reveal her secret treat so, you will have to go on the tour to experience it for yourself. Sea North Tours… hang on to this girl cause she is a Churchill gem!

Thank-you to the staff at the Polar Inn and Sea North Tours for making our first trip to Churchill one we will never forget. We hope that one day, we will be blessed to once again get the chance to visit this beautiful piece of Canadian wilderness!

Due to Covid, we decided to stay in the kitchen suite which was very clean, updated, large and had all the amenities needed for our stay. We cooked a majority of our meals and enjoyed the cozy room reading or watching Netflix after long days of touring in search of polar bears which did not disappoint! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. It is located in the heart of the town with the grocery and Liquor store next door and restaurants nearby. I would consider this as one of the better accommodations available in Churchill as most others are more basic. The Polar Inn will not disappoint.

We were super thrilled with our experience at the Polar Inn. The staff went above and beyond for my family. They show genuine interest and care for their guests. It's owned and operated by a really lovely family who are very knowledgeable about the area.

We rented a suite and a standard room and both were great. Decor was cute and the kitchenette suite was really handy. The hotel offers shuttles and has a tour company on site which is fantastic for people without vehicles. You never have to worry about transportation and the tours offered are worth the money! We managed to see polar bears and whales all on the same trip!

The hotel is centrally located with the train, restaraunts, and a grocery store only a few feet away.

Due to Covid-19 the kitchen area for breakfast was closed, however the Giftshop was stocked with amazing treasures to take home with you.

If you're looking for the best place to stay in Churchill, this is the place! I can't wait to come back and stay at the Polar Inn again soon! Our stay here made our trip a dream come true!

We had such a positive experience at the Polar Inn! Shuttle from the train station was prompt, check in was welcoming and smooth. Staff were prompt and pleasant to attend to any concerns or issues- like cleaning up after my spill in the lobby. The room was very clean, beds comfortable. Our grandkids loved the beluga and polar bear pillows. The continental breakfast had good variety, waffles, yogurt, cereal, fruit and muffins. The breakfast room was super clean. (Due to covid there were only 2 restaurants in open in town and neither served breakfast).
Our stay here helped make our adventure to Churchill a grand success.

We had a great stay in the kitchen suite. Well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, great wifi, and wonderful hospitality. We rented a truck and saw belugas and polar bears. The museum is a must to see carvings and to read the fascinating stories that go along with them as well as kayaks and weapons.
There were fewer restaurants open in September so the kitchen was great to have. September is off season so self touring is necessary but easy enough to do so.
The landscape was colourful and powerful. Go visit, it’s a trip like no other.

This is one of only a few hotels in “downtown” Churchill and we were more than satisfied with our room. Staff from front desk and housekeeping were all friendly and helpful. There is no cable tv - we were told the cable company pulled out a number of years ago so they only get 8 channels now. But some of these 8 were never on; some had the same program on every time we checked. The only ‘regular’ channel we got was Global TV from Toronto, so each day before going out to look for polar bears we got to watch the sky chopper traffic report from Toronto LOL. The hot continental breakfast each morning was good - it says it’s available starting at 7 each morning, but if you have a tour pickup at 7, the food is all laid out by 6:30 the days we were there. Keurig coffee machine in the room and we had no difficulty getting as much coffee and tea as needed. Good location as you can walk to a number of restaurants and stores. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This gem is a clean, cost effective, and comfortable Boutique Hotel conveniently located near restaurants and the Northern Store. It is owned by a wonderful and friendly family who go out of their way to offer all the conveniences of home which can be very challenging for businesses in the North. The continental breakfast had lots of choices and was well stocked. This family went above and beyond in making me feel welcomed and comfortable. This trip was a bucket list vacation I had been dreaming about for a long time and it was everything I hoped for thanks to Louise and her family. I will be back but in the meantime I will highly recommend Polar Inn to family and friends. Thank you! Keep doing what you do!

My partner and I traveled to Churchill in July. The rooms were clean and the hotel was nice and quiet despite many people staying long term. The family who owns the hotel was really nice and was more than happy to answer any questions and offer advice when we wanted it! The shuttle from the airport was helpful, also. It is a short walk from the train station and is centrally located so its a short walk to get anywhere. We didn't have any complaints and really enjoyed our stay here!

My husband and I had a kitchenette room last week and it was worth upgrading to the larger room. It was nice to have a small living room and kitchen, plus two tvs. There is no AC, so the bedroom got a bit warm in early August, but it helped to open the window in the kitchen (maybe they have a portable fan if you ask, but we didn’t). The staff is very nice and the gift shop has unique items. The breakfast is mostly cereal, pastries, bagels. waffles, yogurt-but it definitely works if you have an early morning tour to make (starts at 7). The location is great and you can walk to restaurants and stores. All of the Sea North Tours leave from this hotel also. A nice place to stay.
