We loved our stay at the Iceberg Inn. We stayed for 4 nights in early March of 2020.
We are very independent but love getting suggestions from locals and Bill was very accommodating and made our plans go even smoother. The inn is a super short walk from the train station, just watch the icy roads all over town in the winter. Our room was clean and cozy, we also had a simple private bathroom, and a very convenient coatrack for all your winter gear. The heating was great and we slept well. The main lobby/ living room/ dining room was like a small cozy lodge and perfect to chill out in the evenings. Bill had some nice options for breakfast and for a small fee can wash and dry your laundry, which was totally worth it, since we were living out of our backpack for a week. This was also in a great location for other activities in town. Would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay with Bill and Angela. They are friendly hosts who make you feel at home and are happy to answer all your questions. The hotel itself is very basic accommodation. Some might even say rustic. There are no televisions in the rooms but they are clean, the beds are comfortable and we slept like a log the three nights we were there. Considering the rates for the other hotels in Churchill, the Iceberg Inn is a bargain. For some reason there are no stoppers in the bathtubs so you my wife was not able to have her nightly bath. We were also surprised that there were costs associated with very basic services that are usually covered by the nightly rate. For example, Bill offered to pick us up at the airport when we arrived, not a big deal, since Angela was on the same flight. But it was only when we arrived back at the hotel that he told us there was a $5 charge for picking us up. The price is not the issue, it is very reasonable and fair. The issue is that we weren't told up front that there would be a charge. Similarly, Bill said there was no place in town to have breakfast but there would be toast and coffee available every morning. Toast, yes, but if you want jam you have to bring your own. The coffees so weak you could see the bottom of your cup. Then, at check out time, we were informed that there was $5 per person per day charge for breakfast. Again, no complaint about the price, but it would have been nice to know up front. Maybe it was a misunderstanding on my part, but on the way back from the airport Bill said that Angela would take me out to take photos during our visit. However, this was never mentioned again which seemed odd since, the day we left, she was taking other guests out for sight-seeing after dropping us off at the airport. All in all, I just found the communication a little confusing, even though the atmosphere was very friendly. I recommend staying at the Iceberg Inn because it is reasonably priced, comfortable and friendly. But be sure to ask up at the beginning if there are extra costs associated with the services provided.

Bill and Angela were a friendly couple, however we were advised we would be collected at the airport. There was no one looking for us and had to get some to ring them. They told us to take a taxi. The room was comfortable but nothing fancy, which was fine by us, however the prices in Churchill are expensive due to the limited tourist season. But when you take away the bear season, the beluga season the northern lights season, I was wondering that the only down time was one season so very pricey for basic accommodation. Our initial contact with Bill, was that there was no breakfast supplied, you would have to go across the road to the cafe, not the best option at 6.00am in the morning to then make a tour. This time of the year is heading into winter. However we found out there was toast available, so that was good. We were told $5, then told no it’s free, then told he would collect the breakfast money before we leave. Then didn’t!! Very confusing. The tours offered were pretty much the same - chasing bears around the area looking for them. No room service is offered, we were there for a week. You have to get in early for a hot shower, I think the system only heats up once in 24 hours. Angela did come and get us one day, when a bear was sighted just near the airport, that was kind of her.

The fresh mural in the hallway was a lovely touch and the room was clean and comfortable. Owners Bill and Angela were friendly and accommodating- they looked after our every need, including storing our canoe out front. A very funny and warm couple- they made our stay very memorable! We had just finished up a 25 day canoe trip and it was the perfect landing place for a little R&R and to explore Churchill. Bill made great recommendatioins about local restaurants and things to do. They even have a piano in the lobby if you have an urge to play, and a nice comfortable lounging couch. Highly recommended!

ʕ•͡ᴥ•ʔ Fantastic in every way. It is the best place to stay in Churchill. Excellently located at the center of town within a short walk to everything. It is the closest hotel to the train station and across the street from Northern, the only store in town where you can get groceries, dry goods, houseware, toys, etc. Very convenient, especially during a blizzard.

The property is clean and simple. The rooms spacious with very comfortable beds. We can make use of the microwave oven in the common room that is equipped with tea, coffee and breakfast cereals and a cosy corner where guests can relax and enjoy each other’s company, especially with Bill and Angela, our amazing hosts whose kindness, attentiveness and generosity is far beyond description. Bill even offered to do our laundry. Both Bill and Angela are also avid photographers who share their expertise with no reservation.

My husband and I came to Churchill as strangers. We have found friends who opened their heart and home to us like no others. It was our second trip to Churchill, and Bill and Angela made this trip truly special. I loved Iceberg Inn and Bill’s and Angel’s hospitality so much, I went back two months later for polar bear viewing. This trip was even more special for I encountered 54 polar bears. And the polar bear tours with Iceberg Inn were the very best of all.

Highly recommended.

Barely a step above camping - no amenities. My room had a boarded up window, a bucket hanging on the faucet in the shower, and it was used for storage of linens and cases of toilet paper. I made sure my room was locked before I left for the day and when I returned it was unlocked. No area to gather and relax. The location was the only good thing about it. We talked to several people who stayed at other hotels that were less expensive, nicer and they had breakfast included.

I did this trip (with my husband 88 yrs old and my granddaughter of 10 yrs old) with barley planing for it. I was very stressed out because I didn’t have time to book the tours, so I didn’t know wether there would be availability at reasonable cost. That worry went away when I called Iceberg Inn , and they told me not to worry about anything , they will take care of all those details.
Bill and Angelica are the owners of a centric inn; they are wonderful people. She is a great guide and photographer. The tours they provide , at a reasonable cost, includes: the Aurora Borealis , polar bears, others and the can coordinate for the dog sled rides. ( We took all of them in two days).

The inn is pretty simple but the interior paintings/ murals are amazing. We really enjoyed our stay. The rest is for you to find out.

P. S. Notes: Vegetarians beware of the food, very scarce.
Also most of the time the Aurora Borealis is hard to see, need potent camaras, phones and binoculars. Come prepare to the Artic.

From the moment we walked into the Iceberg Inn we were greeted with warm, friendly and hospitality from Angela and Bill; by the time we left we were friends. We stayed 1 week with Bill and Angela and they are so knowledgeable, welcoming, outgoing and wonderful hosts. Angela took us on her bear watching and photo tour; it was the most fantastic time that we could have had and will remember our time finding beautiful scenery and wildlife forever. It was so special. We saw many bears and other wildlife; she is dedicated to making sure you have a memorable time on her tour. The room was clean and comfortable with hot showers, clean bathroom, comfortable clean beds, a window that opened for fresh air and a fridge. Most restaurants are closed on Sundays so we stocked up and had our food in the fridge to eat. Bill had coffee ready for us every single morning with such a lovely, happy face and Angela baked delicious scones one day for us. There is a gathering space to meet other guests also. We had much down time in Churchill so we just stayed in our room to catch up on reading and playing cribbage; we felt comfortable and often asked for afternoon coffee and they were always ready to help us. Bill and Angela are such hospitable and warm people and they are very knowledgeable about what to do in town, where to find treasures to see and how to stay safe. I really can't say enough about our stay. We will be back to visit them again. We wouldn't stay anywhere else.

All the furniture was dusty. Never emptied trash can in room we had to empty ourselves. Everything filthy. There were NO AMMENTIES at all. You made your coffee and provided your own creamer, sugar. Nothing but a room was provided. Talked to other people in different hotels and they paid less than we did and were provided a hot breakfast each morning and a TV in their room. This was just a half a step above tent camping! Never would recommend Iceburg Inn.

We stayed at Iceberg Inn during the first week of August, 2023. If we could award Bill & Angela (owners) six stars, we would, without hesitation! You are not only treated as guests, you are invited in as family. It is impossible to feel more comfortable and welcome!

From the moment we met Angela and her assistant, Braham, at the train station, their positivity and excitement was contagious. We were greeted with open, welcoming arms, and instantly, we knew we made the right choice for our hosts in Churchill.

Throughout the week we were treated to fun extras. Angela was taking in her recyclables and observed a mama bear and cub on the shore en route. She immediately called us and Bill back at Iceberg. She picked us up to see a wonderful sight! The added perk about staying at Iceberg Inn is that Angela is a professional photographer. All of our experiences with her were recorded not only on our iphones, but with her camera equipment and 800 lens! She graciously airdropped all of these magnificent photos at the end of the day. Other guests on our daily excursions commented how fortunate we were to have her as a host as they, too, became accustomed to her presence and tripod at our daily drop offs/pickups : )

We recommend with utmost confidence staying with Bill & Angela at Iceberg Inn. When you are traveling all the way to Churchill, you want a top notch experience and a great value. This is exactly what Bill & Angela offer their travelers. If we designed our itinerary all over again, (now after experiencing Churchill first hand) we absolutely would not change a thing!

Do yourself a favor and stay with friendly faces that listen and go the extra mile!!
