Arrived after midnight. Smooth registration. My rate included breakfast. Booked as an IHG member. Parking is free. There is local restaurants, a dollar store, liquor store, and grocery store all within 5 minutes walk. Bus stop to downtown is 1 minute away. Room was clean and comfortable. Elevators(3) were always available with no long waits. Pool wasn't busy at all. Washrooms were clean in all areas of the hotel. Room has a fridge and microwave...and there is an ice machine on all room floors. TV didn't have that great of a channel selection...mostly french, sports, and news. But I connected my Amazon HDMI to the rear of the TV and everything was fine after that. Internet signal was good in the room and throughout the hotel. The gym was small though and needed more attachments such as a tricep rope, a lat pull down bar, and maybe a straight bar(all can be obtained on Amazon for less than 50 dollars). That being said, the gym was never crowded and towels and water were available in the gym. Staff were friendly. The breakfast could use a few more items on the menu and they should set the food warming temperature containers a little higher if possible. As well, the 2 TV's in the breakfast area should be set to the news channel instead of being always on sports. I think that local and national news and weather would be of more interest to customers in the morning rather than sports scores. 2 computers are available for use for customers in the lobby area. 2 pay style washers and dryers were also available for use 24/7. This was handy and appreciated. Holiday Inn South also a great location for those who want to attend Winnipeg Blue Bomber football games and the bus on Pembina highway will take you straight downtown to within walking distance to the Winnipeg Jets Canada Life Center. All and all, I would not hesitate to recommend the Holiday Inn South as a property to stay at in Winnipeg. I will be a repeat customer in the future.

Holiday Inn Winnipeg South is located just south of the city centre and about a 25-minute drive from the airport, YWG. The is parking spaces around the hotel and for diamond elite there is reserved spaces just outside the door. The lobby is nice and big with the reception, restaurant and bar and plenty of seating. Around by the lifts is the indoor pool and relaxation area, and on the second floor is a nice gym with plenty of machines and weights. The rooms are nice and spacious with plenty of storage and modern amenities. Around the hotel within a few minutes' drive, you will find both shopping and restaurants. Overall, it is a good hotel for both business and leisure in Winnipeg

Stayed here for three nights while visiting a friend. Staff at the hotel are very friendly and welcoming. The lobby was nice and bright. The room was quite clean and spacious. Shower power is pretty good. The views outside the rooms are nothing to be wowed over. Some of the furniture inside appears to be a bit dated though, more specifically, the TV and alarm clock. Speaking of which, the TV in my room was not working as it consistently had a weak or no signal when I was trying to watch channels. This wasn't a big deal since I wasn't in my room for the majority of my stay, but it was pretty annoying to deal with, hence the one star taken off. Keep this in mind if you choose to stay here. Also keep in mind, I found the WiFi to be a bit on the slower side... not good for business travellers if you ask me! But, I will say that the beds were very comfortable to sleep on. That's very important!
Breakfast is roughly $15 if you choose to have it. It's nothing fancy, with offerings of a traditional American breakfast like potatoes, waffles, bacon, scrambled eggs, etc.
All in all, despite some minor issues, this was a good stay and I'd stay here again next time I'm in the Winnipeg area.

Truly loved this hotel. We were in Winnipeg from southeastern Ontario for unfortunate circumstances and our mornings and evenings there, after long busy days, were our saving grace. Check in/out staff were professional and friendly. The restaurant staff were incredible and would go above and beyond to make sure you were happy with your meals and service. Loved the breakfast buffet. It's ease and quickness was the perfect set up for our day. It had a great assortment of breakfast items. The pool area was wonderful with the exception that the jets didn't work in the whirlpool. The whirlpool was closed on our last day so I assume perhaps this was being addressed, but it's warmth was still appreciated after coming back to the hotel each evening. All in all this hotel is lovely, clean and safe. We couldn't imagine having been anywhere else.

We have been coming to this hotel for ten or so years. The price continues to go up, but the quality goes down. Toilet is broken, bathroom overall is neglected and needs maintenance. Everything just looks very used. I forgot a fork for my takeout and they wouldn’t lend me one because I didn’t order from the restaurant. We paid $200+ a night, please just let me use a fork !! I know this is very minor, but I was hangry! Bed and pillows are clean but not the comfiest. Our heater was also making some very strange noises and shaking. I think this place just needs some extra maintenance. Staff was very friendly and besides the fork, very helpful!

I’ve stayed hear a few times and the hotel is always consistently good. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are always very clean and comfortable. The restaurant has decent food and although the location is a bit remote from popular Winnipeg attractions, there is a grocery and a good selection of restaurants within a short walk. A couple suggestions: Please fix your printer. This is very important to me as a business traveler. Coffee is complimentary in the lobby, but during my most recent stay they only seem to have these tiny little cups and oddly enough, half of them leak. These are minor gripes and I would stay here again.

The room smelled it had been a smoking room previously and had not been properly cleaned to get rid of the smell. The bed was pretty hard. The staff was nice and checked us in and out quickly. Parking is convenient. We asked for extra pillows and they were brought quickly.

We decided on this property for our Winnipeg stay due to location and past reviews. While usually past reviews are a good sign of what to expect, in this case it wasn't.
Common areas of the hotel had stains from food and sticky beverages (which were not cleaned for several hours - over night in the case of the elevators).
Loitering in the foyer of the hotel was not discouraged as groups of inebriated individuals were present during both days of our stay. Enhanced security was visible in the hotel lobby, but the uniformed staff did little to discourage this activity.
The hotel parking lot at the back (second level) has not been maintained in recent months with a collection of dirt and leaves from last fall in place.
The room experience was good, but getting there in less than acceptable surroundings significantly took away from the experience. Change is needed by those responsible for these significant short comings at this property.
We would not recommend this property under current circumstances.

A very nice hotel, the best business hotel in south Winnipeg. Very tidy, updated and has a very good restaurant. Good location if you're visiting the University of Manitoba, Assiniboine Park or the Seasons of Tuxedo area. Several quality restaurants within walking distance (or there is a no-frills grocery store directly across the street if you want to save on meals). Rooms have fridges, microwaves, coffee-makers. This was significantly better than i was expecting for a suburban Holiday Inn location.

Excellent Pension. We had booked by expediency and had no worries, had the room we had booked with King size and on the 10th floor. Parking relatively convenient because several floors. All the staff is very friendly, welcome, cleaning staff. Bedding and impeccable cleanliness. On the other hand we added an extra night paid on expedience and they billed us in addition, so we had to call them, it was difficult to communicate via expedience because expedience masks the emails between the customers and the Pension but we ended up recovering the refund of this night probably billed in error by the hotel and not out of malice but to watch, it is better to pay everything in the same way. Otherwise another downside for us, no outdoor pool.
