An excellent room featuring a comfortable bed, convenient parking, accessible transportation links, and situated in a tranquil neighborhood not far from the city center. The friendly staff ensures a pleasant stay, with bi-weekly room cleaning. The amenities are top-notch, earning a perfect 10/10, including a coffee machine in the room and a cozy, comfortable bed. Undoubtedly the best budget-friendly option in Winnipeg.

Good average hotel. Good reception clean room. There was what appeared to be water damage in wall and roof in one corner. Repair was a little questionable. There is no fan in washroom There was construction across parking lot, on 4th floor we did not hear it

This hotel has everything. It is easy to access from all directions, and especially a good place to stay if you're going to a hockey game. It has McDonald's across the street, a good lounge on-site, and a beer vendor in the parking lot!!!

I honestly can’t believe how we were treated at this establishment. They do not make any accommodations what so ever to people with disabilities or special needs. I’m not even kidding you, at the beer vendor that they own their employee called one of us a “retard”. I have never seen a business treat someone like this before, horrible horrible service. Can’t eve stress it enough, do not go here unless you want to support a business where the people and managers discriminate against those with special needs.

We stayed here the end of November before a morning flight. The room - especially the bathroom was very dirty. We also asked for a wake-up call which we did not receive. The parking is behind the hotel on a fairly busy road. We did stop in the attached pub for a quick drink. It was nice.

Overnight stay on a longer road trip.

Hotel staff made all the difference at this hotel. I booked on-line. When getting to the check in, the staff informed me the hotel was over sold. I should not have been able to book the room. The front desk staff worked diligently and eventually got me a room at the hotel.

Dinner at the Asian restaurant on the first floor was very good.

The smoking room was a dump when we got there. It had what looked like urine stains on the lampshades, burn marks on the carpet, with cheap brown blankets on the bed, you know the ones that you get as extra blankets in a real hotel. And of course it smelled putrid from smoke. To my dismay, after I left, they charged my credit card $1057 to clean up a coffee stain they claim. They didn't have their staff wipe it down, instead they charged me 300 for deep cleaning and 700 to paint the ceiling and 60 for new lamp shades. Now no matter what happened it is clear they are extorting me for as much as their greedy thieving hands can get. Preying on the Holiday traveler they don't think will come back or complain. They are pathetic as they are disgusting, please don't fall prey to their predatory practices.

Had a suite with a queen size bed and small kitchenette for 6 nights. We chose this hotel because it was within reasonable walking distance of the PanAm pool and had a kitchenette so we could cook our meals. The location was ok for us, but its far from downtown if thats what you're interested in.

The building overall was clean. The main floor has the lobby, a thai restaurant and a bar (Winn city pub). The other floors have rooms on them. Everything looks clean to us.

Check in and out was quick and everybody was polite.

The suite was divided in two parts, the living room and bedroom, but there was no door separating them, just a doorway. The kitchen is basically a small counter, a toaster oven, a microwave, two stove burners and a small fridge. That was ok for our needs, but there was barely enough space for us to eat (at the counter). No table.

The mattress was comfortable, but the sheets were not. They were so old that they had small lint balls all over them, which made them rough. The AC unit is about 20 inches from the side of the bed, so it can be cold for the person sleeping on that side. They really should replace the sheets and put deflectors on the AC unit. There are 2 AC units, one in the bedroom and one in the living room. Both worked fine if you left them on "auto" mode, but stopped working if you put them in any other mode.

The bathroom had the basics, nothing fancy. The shower curtain rod is curved, so the shower curtain keeps sliding down, which then allows water on the floor. Water pressure and temperature were good. The fan did not work at all.

The Thai restaurant is great. Good food, large portions, good service, and very reasonable prices. Thats also where breakfast is, which is a warm continental breakfast (eggs, bacon, pancakes, waffles, etc..). Breakfast was good.

The bar in on the lobby floor is more than your typical hotel bar. Its a full blown pub with pool tables, video lottery machines, dart boards, etc... That might be appealing for some, but not for us. On two occasions when we returned around 19:00 the bar was so loud you could hear it clearly from the lobby, and on one occasion the desk clerk had to scream at some customers to return to the bar when they had decided to continue their fun in the lobby.

All of the above was disappointing enough, but not terribly bad. Had that been it I would have probably given it a 3 star.

The problem came on the Friday night around 2:00 AM when my wife and I were awoken to people fighting in the lobby. They were screaming, pushing against walls, slamming doors, etc.. Around 5:00 AM the noise stopped and we could finally get some sleep. When we got up at 7:00 to go for breakfast we opened our door to see the room directly across from us guarded by two armed police. They were sitting outside of the room to prevent anybody from going in. I dont know what happened and dont care. When I voiced my concerns with the front desk clerk, all she could say was "sorry" and that there had been an altercation. There were two armed policeman in front of that door all day and still there when we went to bed that Saturday night. Sunday morning they were gone. I know thats not the hotel's fault, but they did nothing at all to make it up to us.

I wont be returning.

Just south of "Confusion Corner", this hotel has an excellent location. Even during busy periods, it takes less than 10 minutes to get downtown. It is very reasonably priced and is close to restaurants and coffee shops!

Winnipeg's Quality Inn is a lovely small hotel in a super location. The staff is friendly and professional (special thanks to Keith), the rooms are clean and very well designed. The location is terrific, with many buses to choose from and an easy location if you are driving. The breakfast is more than adequate, and there are a good selection of restaurants nearby.

Does the bar still have the full swing golf? How was the free breakfast?
Answer from somegalfromcan
Victoria, Canada248 contributions92 helpful votes
I have no idea what you mean by the full swing golf? I can answer the part about the breakfast. I was more than satisfied by it. There was a better variety than I have encountered in other, similar hotels. There was waffles, muffins, sausages, bacon, bagels, fruit, yogurt, cereal - and probably a few other things that I am forgetting. The only thing that I felt it was missing was cream cheese for the bagels - so I bought some, put it in my fridge in my room and then started bringing my breakfast up there to enjoy.
