We normally chose to stay at the Holiday Inn Winnipeg-Airport West when we have a short stay in Winnipeg. We find the location convenient to many restaurants, the highway & a 10 minute drive to the airport. Driving in from Calgary, we had hoped to take advantage of the underground parking but with the hotel being so old, the height to enter is only 6'2", so our Nissan Xterra SUV wouldn't fit. Also note that no trucks or vans are allowed either. The hotel is older but has had some renovations over the years. Because of Covid-19, housekeeping does not enter your room during your stay. We had an east facing room on the 7th floor & it was quiet during our 3 nights there. It was nice to have the mini fridge to store our cooler items. Our room was comfortable & clean, although the air conditioning was a bit loud. There is a pool & hot tub but we have never used it & not sure if it was even open during this time. The lounge was closed but you could bring your own food in & sit at the tables to eat. The main restaurant opened for breakfast on the Saturday we left but we just picked up a Tim Hortons as we headed out of town. Reasonably priced, we will likely continue to stay at the Holiday Inn Airport West.…
It is a good, clean, comfortable hotel. It has a free shuttle to the airport and Polo shopping center. But the breakfast place in NOT good. Came down in the morning and waited for 14 minutes for a waitress to take an order...didn't happen.. so I left without breakfast
We drove through and spent the night here! My 2.5 year old loved the play place ! And the free breakkie of eggs Bennie was great! Staff were amazing! They even gave our girls shirts from holiday inn and every staff member we chatted with was very friendly and knowledgeable! The suite we stayed in was big and clean! And next time we driving through, we will be back for sure!
Recently dined here with the family for Christmas Day breakfast. Server was not overly friendly and I can't remember her name. Food was very good and well priced. Would have given 5 stars if the server was happy to be there.
We have gone here for many years with our family during the Christmas break. Each year we have experienced a great time, without any major issues. We bring our kids with their kids. The grandkids ages 1 to 9, 5 of them, just love this place. They love the pool, the hot tub and the huge climbing apparatus with air guns that shoot sponge balls. Each year we ask them if at all possible to put our rooms in the same area, and it doesn't always work out totally, but this year it did. We each got a room we were looking for, and they were all side by side. One family had a suite, the other two beds, and us one bed. Awesome! The rooms are tidy and clean, including the washrooms. Everything looks new. Check in was fast and friendly, as was checkout. The free meals for kids helps offset the higher prices of breakfasts in the restaurant. Have only experienced breakfasts here. They are presented in a very appetizing way. Only drawback experienced was that the sausages tasted like warmed up in the microwave, and the scrambled eggs were not scrambled, but came as an omelette, so that was disappointing. Service in the restaurant was fantastic. Indoor parking in the middle of winter also makes it so much easier to pick this hotel. From parking to room, under 5 minutes. God willing, we will be back again next Christmas.…
