My son and I spent three fishing days in paradise except for a few mosquitos! Would highly recommend this lodge!!! The friendly staff including the dogs, the excellent food, the right fishing tackle, plenty of fish, and comfortable accommodations made the whole experience well worth the trip from Phoenix! The shore lunches prepared by our guide, Josh, were delicious! Catching 25-inch Walleyes and a trophy 22.5-inch Whitefish were exciting. The bottom line, they treat you like family at Aikens Lake!!!
It is hard to say what is better - the fishing, the accommodations, the food, or the service. The fishing is better than anywhere I have ever been, 20+ inch walleye were very common (even right off of the dock). The cabins were clean and comfortable, with AC and heat as well as a large bathroom with full sized shower (we were in Master Angler's Row). The food was fantastic, starting with a huge breakfast with many choices, shore lunch that included walleye caught minutes before prepared. Dinner ranged from steak to chicken parmesan - all were excellent. The service was off the charts, whether it was our servers at our meals in the lodge or our guides on the lake. You can tell that all of the employees have pride in their jobs and it shows. We have been to Aikens several times, and the experience is better every time. Can't wait until our next trip!…
On my first trip to Aikens, I took my son and had a great time. Just recently, I was able to finally get my daughter there and again (after covid delay) another great stay. Great accommodations. Great food. Great guides (and they make great shore banquets). Great service. Great Happy Hour and after dinner R&R. Big Molly's Bar, Billiards, Shuffleboard, Card games. Oh, did I mention the the fishing was great also. My daughter (after a 100 fish day) actually said she was getting a bit tired of catching fish. Shame on her! We'll talk later.
Absolutely incredible lake and lodge. The fishing is outstanding - world class north woods fishing. You will catch plenty of big walleye (and small/medium pike) and maybe even a monster lake trout or pike, all while being surrounded by stunning scenery, bald eagles, bears, and moose. It is still fishing, so don't think that this lake will not challenge you at times. The rewards are worth it! On the shore, Aikens stands out even more... Luxurious and modern accommodations, delicious and plentiful food, a full service bar, hot showers, daily housekeeping, fast wifi, and top notch boats, gear and guides. We stayed in Master Angler's Row in the smaller two person rooms and they were fantastic for a small group. You spend the vast majority of your day on the water so there is no need for anything more than the comfortable beds, bathrooms, showers and furnishings these small rooms provide in my opinion. Next year we may try the larger cabins just for fun, though. If you like to fish, enjoy the finer things in life, and have a hunger for true wilderness without having to sweat the logistics of planning your our excursion, it does not get better than this! These guys treat you like family and think of every detail... Before you even know you want it, they have it waiting for you. We will be coming back!…
We have enjoyed several good fishing lodges in Canada . For the past two years we hit the mother load with Aikens fly-in fishing resort! Pit and Julie have created one unique wilderness experience with a personal touch. The facilities are excellent, the service is remarkable, and the lake provides world-class walleye and pike fishing. This place is, quite simply, the best!
We have been up to Aikens Lake Wilderness Lodge for the past 5-6 years and it just keeps getting better! The guides and staff are all top notch and they all make sure your experience is one that you won’t forget. We stay at the GGO lodge and our meals and drink selection are tailored to exactly what we are looking for. Each and every year you catch world class Walleye and Pike and this year for me it was a Master Lake Trout! Pit & Julie keep up the great work!
I travelled with my son and grandson and we stayed in Park Place which provided us with 2 rooms and a common screened in porch. The fishing was first class as was the rooms and meals. All the staff from the restaurant and bar, maid service, fishing guides and dock people were superb. The management is great and wants everyone to have a great time. The lake is pristine in water quality and scenery. Looking forward to next years trip!1
The experience was perfect. The staff, the setting, the fishing, the food, the lodging, were all 5 stars. We would highly recommend this fishing lodge. We caught so many fish and experienced wildlife firsthand. This something that should be on everyone’s bucket list!
The experience is first class from accommodations to food to service to fishing. The staff are friendly and attentive. The scenery is world class. If walleye, pike and lake trout are your game, this is the place to go. You will always cherish a trip to Aikens.
From start to finish it was an amazing experience. Pit and Julie were very helpful from the first email until we got on the plane to leave. The guides and staff were super helpful and earnest. Shore lunches were a highlight. Can't wait to go back.
