BTW you are also expected to bring your own face cloth the hotel does not provide them. The only good experience I had during my stay was with Christine at in-house spa.
Only negative review is after spending $250 per night (plus tax) on a pretty comparable room to other hotels, they still hit you up for $21 to park at a hotel your staying at.
I’ve stayed at plenty of downtown hotels that are significantly less expensive, rooms and hotel are very comparable or better, and they do not hit you up with their little tin cup at the front desk for extra $21 like they did here. Again, awesome place! But beware of this extra charge.
HITS: Front desk staff were friendly and seemed eager to give guests their full attention. A nice personal touch was the hand written anniversary card and chocolates. -Thank you Engel, it was very thoughtful of you!
The beds and pillows are wonderful. I find the rooms are spacious (stayed in a King), the shower has great pressure, and the upscale amenities (soap & conditioner) are really nice.
MISSES: our room had some cleanliness issues where it was obvious the counters had not been wiped, and large breadcrumbs(?) from previous guests were on the coffee table and this made me wonder what else had been missed and not sanitized before our arrival. I just grabbed one of the face clothes and went about cleaning all surfaces myself.
We had stayed during the pandemic before and been impressed by the cleanliness and safety precautions, some of which were missing this time round. Previously there had been signage for ‘only people in the same party’ on elevators, also there was a sticker guaranteeing your room had been cleaned on the door- both are no longer the case)
We had requested a quite room and we were put beside a suite hosting a wedding. Sadly I did have to call down because of the noise, I think staff can only do so much to quiet a wedding party! Wish we had been put in a quieter area of the hotel.
So a few important ‘Misses’ on this visit.
But we stay at the Inn at the Forks for the close proximity of ALL the other great restaurants (Passero), lovely walking paths, and updated decor. I am not sure if I would have booked the hotel, had I had this experience the last time. Cleanliness is always a top priority so to experience these kind of mistakes during this pandemic, is really disappointing. I truly think this is the best hotel in a Winnipeg.
"The restaurant is good but expensive. I would eat at the Forks food stands, and the original pancake house for breakfast."Read full review
"Do a spot check for cleanliness...bathroom looked clean, because of the tile, was far from clean. Try to by-pass the Reservations department"Read full review
