The Inn at the Forks was the hotel used by Fronitiers North Adventures while in Winnipeg and I must say I was not disappointed! This gem of a hotel was conveniently located across from a railroad station turned shopping mall with great little stores, draft bar and places to eat. Ice skates were available for renting and the scenic location of the Inn was an added bonus! The Smith restaurant inside served excellent fare...breakfast and dinner were to die for! Their small bar had a variety of local brews on tap and the bartender Dylan was friendly and welcoming. The room I had as a solo traveller was perfect, well appointed with comfy bed (much appreciated after long flights) spotless bathroom and all the amenities a guest could want. I did not have enough time there to check out their spa but will be saving that for a future trip. Their concierge Ivy looked out for me and made me feel most welcome. I must say that this hotel is worth a stay and would come here again when I find myself in Winnipeg.

With the state of international travel these days, we booked a little staycation instead for our anniversary and were very pleased with our stay. The ladies at the front desk of the hotel were kind enough to let us check in 20 minutes earlier than check-in time so that we could already be parked and settled in and could simply enjoy our 3:00 appointment at the Riverstone Spa. We really enjoyed the Riverstone Signature Head-to-toe Massage and the ladies were fantastic. Throughout our stay, the hotel staff was great, especially the front desk. They were very warm, friendly, and accommodating with our requests. Everytime we passed by, they greeted us warmly and engagingly. With the public restrictions on dining, we thought it might be a downer on the dining experience, but the two restaurants in the area that we ordered dinner from did all they could to make the meals feel personalized. We ordered for "pickup" from The Old Spaghetti factory, but we barely made it past the front desk before we ran into the restaurant manager who decided to beat us to the punch and ran it over for us. The next evening, the folks at Smith made sure we were set up properly with plates and cutlery, and even a charcuterie board, so it felt more like eating out than eating out of plastic containers. Its the little things that matter, and quite simply, everyone we encountered during our staycation did all the little things, and it made our stay truly enjoyable. Great job!

We stayed here during the COVID19 pandemic (we had an unavoidable move to Winnipeg and had to stay somewhere while we waited for our effects). The safety precautions were thorough and, yet, the staff still managed to make us feel welcomed and exceedingly comfortable. We were given a very affordable upgrade to a suite (probably unusual) and the experience was incredible! I've stayed at many luxury hotels, but the bathroom setup was the best I've seen. My only criticism is that I couldn't cast to the TV with my phone and had to connect my laptop with HDMI.

Gordontait, Please accept our gratitude for your recent review of our property. Valuable feedback like yours truly affords us of the opportunity to gauge the experiences of our guests, even more so during times like these. We are glad we were able to make your unfortunate circumstances, that resulted staying with us, to be an enjoyable experience and we appreciate your commentary about both our safety precautions and our engaged staff. We were nearing the final stages of installing a casting solution in our guestrooms when COVID-19 put that on pause in mid-March. We hope to proceed with this project later this year. We hope we can welcome you back in the near future. Regards, Joel W General Manager

Worst experience. I called the front desk asking to change rooms as there was noise coming from the A/C heating system. They couldn’t do that for me. I then asked if someone could come up and have a listen as I felt it was unreasonable for them to expect anyone to sleep through the noise. I felt like I was sleeping beside a Mac truck with the engine running all night. Needless to say I got very little sleep. Speaking of sleep when I pulled the bedding back to climb into bed I found a crumb of some sort. If it wasn’t so late and I had an appt I would have bolted then. I went and got the blanket from my car.
BTW you are also expected to bring your own face cloth the hotel does not provide them. The only good experience I had during my stay was with Christine at in-house spa.

The view was great but we went on a nice weekend in winter and the Forks was insane with people. The front desk people were really hard to understand. I had to ask the poor girl to repeat herself many times. Not her fault just her accent was so thick. The beds are absolutely amazing on the 5th floor. Our room was $220 a night a bit pricey but nice views and it is very quiet on the top floor.

Great hotel! Friendly staff, great restaurant.
Only negative review is after spending $250 per night (plus tax) on a pretty comparable room to other hotels, they still hit you up for $21 to park at a hotel your staying at.
I’ve stayed at plenty of downtown hotels that are significantly less expensive, rooms and hotel are very comparable or better, and they do not hit you up with their little tin cup at the front desk for extra $21 like they did here. Again, awesome place! But beware of this extra charge.

Dustin b, Please accept our gratitude for your recent review of our property. Feedback like yours is always appreciated. It was great to read that you enjoyed our property, including dining experiences in SMITH Restaurant and our friendly team members. Annually we poll all of the parking charges for all downtown Winnipeg hotels and ensure we remain competitive. It was new year's eve that we stayed, from the check in to check out, it was smooth - rooms looks big , location wise : it is very ideal in the sense that if you have your family with you, they will definitely enjoy as most of the activities are just walking distance. I liked the sms service , our request was fulfilled . Overall a very nice stay

I am really not impressed for how much we paid. My boyfriend and I booked a staycation at the Inn to celebrate our anniversary and I was thoroughly disappointed. We booked a breakfast package and paid about $340 just for 1 night, which included $21 self parking which was ridiculous considering parking was nothing special and was just right in front. The rooms and atmosphere were quite nice in appearance, however, you can’t judge a book by its cover. Our rooms were very nice and tidy, but the sound proofing on the main door is atrocious! You can hear in perfect detail, every single conversation happening in the hallway and as well as the room next to us. We heard women laughing and yelling all night next door and I guess we were above a ball room cause all we could hear was a dj yelling “put your hands up!” And blasting club music. There has to be better sound proofing if you’re hosting events like that! Our room had a radiator type unit that would intermittently buzz and woke me up at 8am and stayed on for an hour! Not a great way to wake up in an expensive room. To top it all off, we checked out and went to the restaurant to have our breakfast (that was part of our package that we booked WITH the hotel) At 10:00am the smith staff informed us that there are no spaces available until 1:30pm. After everything that has happened, I was upset and explained that we had a breakfast package booked with the hotel and that it was only good for one day. The hostess was not friendly at all and was visibly irritated and huffy as she said they could make it work. There were no apologies or anything. If we’re booking a breakfast package, we should already be scheduled… I feel like that makes most sense. I was not impressed at all with the service, amenities, rooms, or the dining experience (although our server was very kind and helpful!!) The whole experience was so overrated and I hate that we wasted our money on that one night. Would not book again sadly, I was hoping for much better.

I enjoyed everything about my stay except for the quality of my sleep. The bed itself and bedding was great, but it’s like the walls were thin. I could hear people coming in and out of other rooms and i could hear showers being run too. I was hoping to have a great uninterrupted sleep that night without my kid around, but that didn’t happen.

jdcbineau, Please allow us this opportunity to thank you for recently providing us with some valuable feedback about your stay. It was unfortunate to read that your rest was disturbed by noise from other guests. This is not commonly expressed by our guests. Were your concerns brought to the attention of our guest services staff during your stay? We potentially would have been able to execute upon a room move for you. We look forward to welcoming you back soon and invite you to contact us directly with any additional questions or concerns. Regards, Joel W General Manager

Love the location of this hotel. And have stayed a number of times. I would put it as my number one recommendation for anyone coming to Winnipeg. This was a weekend stay to celebrate our anniversary.
HITS: Front desk staff were friendly and seemed eager to give guests their full attention. A nice personal touch was the hand written anniversary card and chocolates. -Thank you Engel, it was very thoughtful of you!
The beds and pillows are wonderful. I find the rooms are spacious (stayed in a King), the shower has great pressure, and the upscale amenities (soap & conditioner) are really nice.
MISSES: our room had some cleanliness issues where it was obvious the counters had not been wiped, and large breadcrumbs(?) from previous guests were on the coffee table and this made me wonder what else had been missed and not sanitized before our arrival. I just grabbed one of the face clothes and went about cleaning all surfaces myself.
We had stayed during the pandemic before and been impressed by the cleanliness and safety precautions, some of which were missing this time round. Previously there had been signage for ‘only people in the same party’ on elevators, also there was a sticker guaranteeing your room had been cleaned on the door- both are no longer the case)
We had requested a quite room and we were put beside a suite hosting a wedding. Sadly I did have to call down because of the noise, I think staff can only do so much to quiet a wedding party! Wish we had been put in a quieter area of the hotel.
So a few important ‘Misses’ on this visit.

But we stay at the Inn at the Forks for the close proximity of ALL the other great restaurants (Passero), lovely walking paths, and updated decor. I am not sure if I would have booked the hotel, had I had this experience the last time. Cleanliness is always a top priority so to experience these kind of mistakes during this pandemic, is really disappointing. I truly think this is the best hotel in a Winnipeg.

IDreamofDisney, Please accept our gratitude for your recent review of our property. It is through valuable feedback like yours that we are able to truly gauge the experiences of our guests and correct service deficiencies for future visits. It was great to read that you were engaged and impressed by Engel and the rest of the team during your visit. We appreciate your ongoing loyalty to our hotel. It was disappointing to read about the cleanliness issues you observed during your stay. Short of sounding like I am providing excuses, we continue to face massive staffing challenges in our industry as a result of the pandemic - this may have been part of the cause for the fails here. We continue to employ a number of measures related to keeping staff and guests safe during these challenging times, while also looking to strike a balance around some return to normalcy. We still treat our rooms with an electro-static sprayer, but have removed the stickers from the doors. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Regards, Joel W General Manager
