Previously lived in Winnipeg, but return every so often to visit family. Have wanted to stay at the Inn at the Forks for a long time, so decided to splurge on this trip. Big disappointment. The hotel itself is in a great location, close to the Forks, Museum of Human Rights and a terrific small restaurant (Promenade Cafe) just across the river in St. Boniface and the James Street Pump House for dinner. Also, everything in downtown Winnipeg, including the Canada Life Centre (Winnipeg Jets) is an easy walk. The hotel itself is quite nice. Public areas are well-maintained and very clean. Then, there was the room - specifically Room 1. Probably the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on - memory foam bed that had long ago lost its memory. Room was extremely cold and thermostat was not working properly. Never done this before - but took a towel, wet it, and wiped a section of the floor in the bathroom. Dirt and pubic hair. Asked to change rooms. No comment from the front desk staff about the temperature, cleanliness, etc. The staff is hit and miss. Some were very professional and some, could barely give you the time of day. Would not stay there again. The Mere Hotel, a little further afield in a gentrifying area along the river is a much better hotel in the same price range. Staff are efficient and friendly and the rooms far superior to those offered at the Inn at the Forks. The only reason to stay at the Inn would be the location - probably the best of any hotel in Winnipeg. Enjoy the city. It has matured since I last lived there and has become a terrific travel destination within Canada.

A solid option for a visit to Winnipeg. Standard room and bathroom was clean and reliable although beds not firm. Nice river view and easy access to Forks market. Restaurant and spa on site however would have appreciated hotel guest discount to these amenities.

This is a great hotel. The rooms are clean and spacious, the bathrooms as well and the water pressure is good. What really sets this hotel apart is the location. There is a nice walk along the river and chairs to sit on under the trees or on the "beach". The Forks Market is just steps away and gives you so many delicious options for lunch and dinner. There is also plenty of parking, although it is not free.

The Inn at the Forks is in a superb location in Winnipeg. There are a lot of nice restaurants and shops within short walking distance and the river offers some nice scenic walks. It's very close to other points of interest like the Winnipeg sign, the Human Rights museum and the Manitoba museum which we were all able to visit in the day we had at Winnipeg. Our room was clean, spacious and well appointed. Service at breakfast was a little slow though the food when it did arrive was good and in very generous portions. Check in with the front desk staff could have been a little better. We were supposed to have vouchers for our breakfast included with our stay bit on arrival we were only given a voucher for one of us. I initially queried this and was told that it was right that we should only have one 25 dollar voucher to cover breakfast for both of us. Realising later that it was clearly a mistake I went back to the front desk the next morning and it was quickly rectified.

We booked a suite here as we were attending a wedding in Winnipeg (even though the wedding party was staying at a different hotel). I think we made the right choice. The suite was clean and extremely spacious. Although not super close to the core of downtown hotels and restaurants, I think this location was perfect for families (with the exception of the lack of a pool). You have access to all of the independent shops and food options of the Forks, you are right next to the Children’s Museum, a playground, and a very short walk to the Museum of Human Rights. Don’t expect to be close to a pharmacy however. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

This is a great hotel! The location at The Forks is obviously great for exploring The Forks itself (lots of great food options) but it is also walking distance to other great downtown attractions. The hotel is comfortable and very clean. But it is the staff that made our stay truly outstanding. We were there for a special celebration and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay extra fun and memorable. This was our first stay here but we will definitely return!

Hotel is conveniently located at the Forks tourist destination. Easy walk to the shops as well as the magnificent Human Rights museum. AC is a bit noisy. Suggest you obtain a room on the north side with a view of the city and the HR museum. Shower is overhead with plenty of water. It would be nice to have a wand or telephone Shower added. Good service by staff and housekeeping.

Really enjoyed my one night stay. Room was large and had a great view of Human Rights museum. Appreciated the full iron and ironing board, which I had to use. The check-in desk is small but was efficient. One thing though - there are no cabs stationed in front of the hotel. I would have thought there would be one at least...but was able to call an UBER which came in less than 5 minutes.

I have reviewed the Inn at the Forks a number of times in the past. While the hotel is very pricey, it is located in a prime spot at The Forks. My same issue remains - absolutely horrible air quality and air control in rooms. I never stay here in the summer because the air conditioning and air circulation in non-existent in the hotel rooms. I decided to give December a try. My error. Stuffy rooms, boiling hot common spaces. The desk staff fumbled through a story about ‘pushing the thermostat’ harder to get the air temperature down. Compete malarchy. If air quality matters to you, stay nearby at the Mere, Fort Garry, or Humphrey Inn. The rooms are as nice (or nicer) and not sweltering. I want to like staying at the Inn at the Forks, but I have given up.
