Detailed Reviews
At the start of our Maritimes trip we stayed at St.Thomas University's dorm. The place was very pleasant so were the people who managed the place. You have to go to the nearest Timmy's for breakfast but one does not want to stay in the dorm all day long anyway.

Stayed here for one night on our way out east. Very accessible location and quick to downtown Fredericton to make the most of our one night! Incredible value. Adequate space for two. Shared bathrooms (dormitory style). Clean. All the essentials were there! Definitely will be returning if I need a budget accommodation.

Another decent stay..nice & quiet and a little cooler than last year because room 154 in Chatham had a good cross breeze going. Again, we recommend bringing your own towels and fan if you're staying in the summer. Rooms are clean and spacious. The only major issue was with the lock to the main door breaking, and apparently there is no other keyed entrance so if nobody is inside to let you in, you're out of luck. Would likely stay again, although it's unfortunate they won't match UNB's group rate so our entire band could be together.

We stayed here two weekends in a row (one in Chatham and one in Rigby). If we had our preference, we'd definitely go the Rigby route next time along the same side of hall as 218 (great breeze off the water, balcony, large rooms, larger bathrooms) and much quieter than Chatham (we were at the end of the hall in Chatham and the stairway door was banging all night with people coming through...also the showers are tiny, and the air doesn't move through as well when it's warm in the summer). We had no hot water in Rigby the first morning but it was fixed by the next day. Internet speed is only fair, and the beds are about the same as any university. All in all a decent experience for what you pay. We found one staff member to be fantastic (? Peter-Paul) ~ very friendly and helpful.

Wow, $60.00 for a quiet room 2 single beds and private bath, and balcony, just like a hotel, minus the tv. Wi fi was very slow, couldn't get a movie to download. Quiet area, secure, staffed 24/7. Centrally located. Never tried this type of accommodation before, but will definitely try other universities in other areas! Cheapest clean hotel was $137.00 plus taxes!Maybe no one else stays at these places unless its a conference, because we only saw 2 other couples there.. Try it if you don't mind single beds. No a/c either.

Accommodation was clean, friendly, lots of parking and close to everything in Frederiction. A great option to a hotel, and just the right price! The hotel is easy to find and we were pulling a trailer for later in our trip, so the parking was excellent.

Drove from Toronto to Fredericton, took 14 hours and just wanted a clean and quiet place to stay as we were not arriving till 9pm. Thought we would try this as it was not too far off the Trans Canada. It was good basic student accomodation, overlooked the river had a private bath, communal kitchen, 2 single beds, good fast internet. No TV in the room but had one in the common room. It was $60 including tax. Also not far from the downtown area of Fredericton, drove around before we left and was impressed with all the beautiful old homes along the river, wish we had more time to spend checking it out/ Note; I would check to make sure there are not large groups of kids visiting as it could be noisey, as the receptionist said this sometimes happens, but was very quiet when we were there.

The St. Thomas University summer hotel is a great place to stay on a budget. You stay in a typical university style room - mine had it's own bathroom. The mattress was hard, the pillow was utilitarian as was the sheet and blanket, BUT for it's location near the downtown Frederiction area (by car) was absolutely perfect.
The room had a bed, desk & chair, and a closet area. My room also had it's own door leading outside to the parking lot.
The bathroom had a small tub/shower combo, sink and toilet (of course). Hand soap & towels were provided.

Yes, you need to use a credit card to secure the room, just like any other hotel. You can pay with cash or debit though when you're checking out.
