The Homeport Historic B&B is a fantastic place. The food and entertainment were great. The Inn is beautifully decorated, very clean and easy to move about. I Karen and Ralph Holyoke are terrific hosts. You will not be disappointed if you go there.

We stayed in Saint John for only one night but decided to try the Homeport Historic B&B. It really is a beautiful Inn, steeped in history and filled with eclectic antiques. We were greeted by the hosts, who were very friendly and full of interesting information about the house and the city of Saint John. We stayed in the Fundy...

This large bed and breakfast is showing some wear. The central area is impressive with beautiful furnishings and an active cocktail hour where guests get good dinner recommendations from very friendly and helpful hosts as well as detailed explanations about the workings of the tidal bore. Rooms are spacious and well outfitted with comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast. Be sure to...

We had a bit of difficulty in finding this B and B in the dark of night as it is poorly lit. Lots of parking in the back. This is a large B and B consisting of two houses connected together via an interior courtyard. Nicely done. The owners are congenial hosts. Breakfasts were very good. Omelette the first day...

Hi GP Calgary Thanks for the review. Sorry you had the concerns and rest assured we looked into them all The extra roll or two of TP is always close at hand in the sink vanity , closet or wicker basket that is found in every bathroom sorry if it was not obvious enough for you this time around. the Inn is beautiful; every corner has something of interest or beauty. Hosts are wonderful and very knowledgeable about the history of the area. Breakfast is superb. Each bedroom is appointed differently, with comfortable sleeping arrangement. St. John New Brunswick has a lot to offer. Always wish I had more time to spend there.

I almost hate to mention issues as the Inn is lovely, Ralph & Karen can not be beat as hosts, and the breakfast is excellent. The beds were very comfortable, the sitting room down stairs was excellent & the matching of guests in the breakfast room was very pleasant. There are a lot of things to like and we were...

Thank you for your review The historic nature of our property lends itself well to the old style claw footed tubs. they are of standard tub size and have proven to work well for us over the past 19 years although I do appreciate it can be difficult for some to adapt. we have 6 claw foot tubs with 3...

Homeport is a 10 room B&B right outside downtown Saint John. The inn itself is something to behold, comprised of two mansions dating from the 1800s now renovated and joined by a large common room. The bedrooms are amazing, all large, immaculately decorated and well kept. Each morning we were greeted with a fresh baked pastries, selection of cold cereals,...

We gathered for a wedding at the Homeport Inn, two conjoined buildings dating from 1858. It was turned into a charming bed & breakfast inn in 1997, with construction to connect the two buildings, creating a party venue space with lovely views. The rooms in the North wing (#60 Douglas Avenue) were newly refurbished in 2000. The widow’s watch in...

We stayed in the Rose Room, which is very attractive and comfortable. It should be noted that the bathroom is one step up, which can be inconvenient at times. Ralph and Karen were very friendly and helpful. The new sitting room is absolutely beautiful. It is full of light and the view to the harbor is terrific. Breakfast was tasty....

I stayed there for 2 nights and it was a great. The location is great - only a couple minute drive downtown. The view can't be beat either. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Set high on a hill with a commanding view of the Bay of Fundy, and the Historic Port and Skyline of Saint John the Homeport Historic B&B/Inn c1858 provides the perfect setting to relax and enjoy the gracious ambiance of Canada's oldest incorporated city. The twin homes were built in 1858,and were constructed for a prominent shipbuilding family whose boat yard was located a few hundred yards below on the harbor tidal flats. Its unique Italianate architecture reflects the opulence of the time with very large bright windows and rooms, 10 foot ceilings, free standing spiral stair cases, and detailed wood work rosettes, finials and columns. Of particular interest is a pair of carved figure heads that have stood sentinel in the formal twin parlors for nearly 150 years. Come stop for a while and enjoy these magnificently restored Mansions and be pampered in Five Star luxury. ... more   less
