We had been driving a while, it was late, driver needed to stop and so we came upon this motel. Not thrilled with it's dated exterior and interior appearance but there were many vehicles in the parking lot, it was clean, we were only staying one night and it was inexpensive. You could smell cleaning products upon entering the rooms (we checked out the rooms prior to registering) and the beds and linens were clean. Good point: great views from this perch on top of a hill.

Very dated. I wanted somewhere just to sleep. No frills. That's what I got. It's very out of date. Small and musty. I was there out of season. I turned up and negotiated a better price. (and was willing to walk away). I asked to see a room before I paid. I took room #3. Park right in front of the door. Small room, even smaller, way outdated bathroom. Towels were clean (but not luxurious!), bedding was clean. I slept with the window open to get fresh air. The room smelled as if it had been cleaned with an overpowering chemical. Basically if you just need a place to rest your "not very fussy" head, you are okay. If you want a "nice" place, go to the Travelodge a little further down the road. Want to spend a lot of money, there are other hotels better suited! No. No breakfast/alarm call/room service, but it did have WiFi.

We stayed in this motel for two nights, at $65+tax per night. The room had a full kitchenette, including dishes, and was clean. They used to serve breakfast, but now they just have coffee in the main office.

There really is a nice view of Manawagonish Island, although not visible from my window, but from outside of the motel. The owners were pleasant and helpful.

I'd stay there again.

First of all let me say...THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING IN THE ROOM! We stayed in August, not even thinking to ask upon check-in if there was one because I mean, WHAT KIND OF HOTEL DOESN'T HAVE ANY A/C?! No fans either! It was stuffy in the room with both available windows open, even though it was cool outside. Couldn't figure that one out! The room was ummmmm "interesting" to say the least. Mismatched almost comical furniture, outdated decor. It looked fairly clean on the surface, but we weren't there long before we realized this was just an illusion! If you are down to your last penny and just want a place to sleep... sleep outside. I won't be giving any of my hard earned money to a foregin owned hotel either. Thanks but no thanks.

We got off to a bad start when they charged me $5 more than the rate quoted when I made the reservation by phone. The room had a foul odor to it. There were mold and mildew in the bathroom and around the windows. When we pulled back the covers on the bed we found black hairs on the sheets. The owners were less than pleasant when we expressed any disapproval.

Believe the bad reviews! This motel is not worth it. They will want your money and you are not worth it as their customer. I am a frequent traveler and this is the only place where Reception has given me a room (and a warning not to use the second bed). I initially asked for a quiet room but eventually had to change rooms as I had neighbors upstairs who got up at 5 in the morning and woke us up at the same time. I asked for a new room and I was given a two-bed room. Guess what? I used the two beds in the room and my credit card was charged with an extra $10!! Reception never told me this and they said that they had to charge a few more dollars because they had to clean the second bed (which was not supposed to be used). Things did not start well from the moment I had to pre-pay without knowing what I was getting into.

WORDS OF ADVICE: There are many more hotels and motels in the area. For $10 or $20 more you can get a more decent and comfortable hotel...It is definitely worth it, believe me!

This old motel is cheap and that's about all. It doesn't look like it's been renovated or updated since the 1950's.
The bed is old but appears to be clean.
The room is musty and there are several areas that look like mold is starting to grow.
When I walked into the bathroom, I saw a large black spider in the sink.
The room is no smoking but I would bet that someone smoked in it.
I didn't ask for an efficiency room but it came with fridge, microwave, dishes, cutlery and kettle.....as if I would use any of them.
Do yourself a favour and stay at the Econolodge down the street.

OMG ... where do I start? The complex looks 'iffy' when you pull in, but we've had such great experiences with 'iffy' places that we just paid without checking it out. MISTAKE!!!!! We are driving across Canada, and economy comes into play when you have that many nights on the road so we've learned to trust TripAdvisor commentators. Neither of us can remember, but apparently we skipped the 'checking reviews' part and did we pay for it - oh yeah and it's not even that cheap being close to 100 bucks Canadian after taxes. Back to the room - filthy fridge, filthy stove, filthy microwave, super filthy under the microwace, walls yuck yuck yuck. We were so lucky to have dishes, utensils, pans and pots with us. I took out a spoon from the unit drawers and immediately dropped it - I cannot begin to describe the feeling but slimy comes to mind. We never touched anything else in the kitchen except the sink to wash our own dishes. Now surprisingly the bathroom was not bad - except we had to roll up a washcloth and stick it under the bathroom door to keep it open. The shower head was dangerous - one spray point with pressure - you get the idea. My husband showered, painfully, and I decided I could wait until we were in a lovely clean spot tomorrow night. All in all this place should be condemned UNLESS there could be someone standing over the cleaners and pointing out HOW to clean. It's disgusting. It's scary. It's horrible. Yuck.

Upon arriving seemed typical for a drive in motel. The staff pleasant and accommodating. Room was very fragrant and not of bleach or cleaning products. Needs renovation desperately. The decor not really the issue. Cleanliness is key. The furniture stained floors filthy especially in corners. Paint peeling. In a nutshell wouldn't go back. Along the way 2 other motels that look nicer for the same $.
