Thoroughly enjoyed out stay. Spacious, clean, well-appointed room. Walking distance to everything there is to do in Shediac except for the big beach. They are very accurate with their check-in times though! We were early and so had some time to kill. Would stay there again for sure.

We had great hopes for this, our first stop in Canada's Maritime Provinces. The Inn is owned by the chef and run by his brother. Room was lovely with a water view. Restaurant was about a 7/10.

We arrived just after a rain storm so the plastic awnings were down but we chose to sit in the patio area. We soon had to raise the awnings which made it perfect for dining.

The restaurant was comfortable and the service good while a little slow. We were 5 adults for dinner. The escargot were terrific. If I show the picture, there is only the dish left. We enjoyed a few glasses of white wine including the happy hour special. Our food choices ranged from fish & chips, scallop salad, seafood casserole and lobster. All dishes were very tasty and prepared well.

All in all, we had a great family dinner and stayed until sunset which was visible to the side of the property. The total bill came to $230 before gratuity including drinks food and taxes. At $46 per person that was well worth it and we would dine there again.

I am at the point that I am embarressed to be from Atlantic Canada. This isn't the first time I have been fooled by some tourist's gushing description of one of our Atlantic Canadian Inns being full of 'traditional charm'. No, this was NOT charming at all, it was shabby and cheap looking. (Contrary to popular belief, we Atlantic Canadians do not live in crummy old places with bare floorboards and cheap furniture, )The room I was given was small, sparse, and more in keeping with a dorm room, than something that should cost $125 a night (it looked like a $85 special that might be rented cheaply because the rest of the place was full). The mattress was just plain worn out, and there was hair on my pillow cases. I don't know where the antiques (see brochure) were in my room, unless that was the bed. However, there is a difference between old and beat up, and an antique. As for a 'view', my room was on the street - and the place was NOT full. (what ever happened to 'best foot forward'?) And I have to ask, does that place deserve to be full, with value (or lack thereof) like that?

I had bad experience when I travelled to Shediac NB on Aug 6th lunch @ L'Auberge Gabriele Inn. They brought me & my husband to patio and we sat there more then 10 minutes but no one came to help us. They had 2 waitresses kept passes us but no intention to help us to taking our order even any drink. After 10 minutes I talked with one of the waitress she told would like someone to help us. Yes they did, but only served us 2 glasses of water and passed to the other table who came after us 5 minutes later. She served them a glass of water and took their order. When I thought she might return us to take our order, but she wasn't she went to the farther table to help the other customer and went away again. We were so mad and decided to left this restaurant. I felt they completely insulted us. I would love to told everyone here don't even go dining or stay in the rough and impolite restaurant.

Small room, two single beds both with rock hard mattresses. Lovely wooden floors through which let you know every time someone is moving in the building. Every time someone flushes a toilet on the third floor, it sounds like a bucket of water being poured on the outside of the wall. Heavy smell of fabric softener on the linens. But the breakfast was nice.

The food is good, the veggie burger is great, the mergez burger is also super good.
The only thing I could say for that place is
1- the waitresses are mostly amateur (which is too bad... because they are nice)
2- the wait is sometimes very long

but other than that, the most important thing being the food, everything is good.

You wait. Wait. Wait... To see what will come. It comes good in the end. But only 10 tables there and you wait for an hour.. Tip: If you may ask, they serve bread and butter. Tou consume your wine with that.. after so long waiting no comment on the food though it may be OK...

Second time staying at the Inn. The first room we got had an awkward layout with the TV in the top right hand corner of the room. I explained this to the staff and they were very helpful to move us to another space. Very Comfortable place to stay with a delicious breakfast.

Very close to some of the best lobster rolls I've ever had.

The air conditioner was very loud.

Together with my wife we took 5 days vacation specifically to see "Lobster Capital of the World". We are from Toronto, Ontario - so it has been a lot of driving for us: we went thorough US on the way TO (had to cross 4 states) and returned through 3 Canadian provinces to Toronto. We had to stay overnight at different places and L'Auberge Gabriele Inn happened to be the worst value of all.

When we arrived there was nobody at reception to meet us. It looks like the restaurant located on the first floor is their main business, so they don't care much about their hotel one which takes the whole second floor of a small 2-story building. There was a small sign at reception informing that on your arrival, if there is nobody at reception to "meet and greet you" - you should let restaurant staff know about your arrival - they would call appropriate person to let you in (we have booked a room in advance). We did exactly that... After ~ 15 minutes we had to remind them again. ...and again when our patience was over. Eventually we "caught" the right person to talk to who arranged our stay.

There are quite a bit of other things to watch for if plan your stay at this place:
1. Few rooms are facing the main street in at Shediac. So if you happened to get one of those - quality of your sleep would be below average.
2. I guess we were not as lucky as other people who wrote favorable reviews about the place. The queen bed we've got in the room was very squeaky. So if would decide to have a little fun in the bed with your girlfriend or wife - it would make everyone in hotel envious.
3. When we order rooms at different places we always make sure that it has a bath or shower. ...and we've got it here too but there is was ongoing stop-n-go problems with water - quite a frustrating experience.
4. They provide you with "free" Wi-Fi access but it doesn't work on the second floor where you need actually it. ...it does in the restaurant though.

Our experience at their restaurant was as mixed as all reviews about the place. The first dinner we had at the restaurant was great - we had lobsters freshly cooked with some side dish. The second one - we had a lo-o-o-o-o-ng wait (more than 45 minutes) and at the end they brought spoiled fish which I couldn't have eaten. We also noticed few signs that they treat people differently at the restaurant. Be aware that it is quite an expensive place to eat either.

So overall - there are a lot of other places to stay in Shediac which would be much better value.
