This motel and everywhere else we saw in Shediac was beautifully maintained. What a pleasure! The Gaudet Chalets and Motel is classic accommodation. It’s not fancy. Our motel room had two double beds, a little table with four chairs, a fridge and microwave, a basic shower stall and AIR CONDITIONING, which we were happy about, during a heat wave. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were pretty soundproof and we had a great sleep. I would recommend this motel to anyone who wants a basic, clean and safe place to stay. We would stay again.

Motel and cottages in the heart of Shediac. Many restaurants nearby. I booked late so could only rent a room with a queen size bed in the motel. I really wished I had booked earlier to get a cottage (but they are rented by the week). The room was clean and of a good size, with a small table, chairs and a sofa bed. The furniture was outdated but met the need for a short term stay. The AC was a new unit that worked well. The mini fridge/freezer had a convenient size. The internet was free and a bit slow at times but it worked. No coffee machine in the room but Tim Horton's and others are nearby. It's a typical motel for the area.

This motel is great! It is VERY CLEAN, and the owners are so nice and helpful, they recommended great places to eat. The motel/chalets are right off of main street, close to everything. Love Shediac and this will always be our top choice for staying in the Shediac area!

We booked the Motel for a 3 night stay(2 couples) after the first night we try to check out because the beds were so uncomfortable either couple got all but a couple hours of sleep. We approach the owners to see if we could change rooms but was told there was no other rooms, after going back and forth we were told if we wanted to leave our key they would try and rent them and give us our money back (Perfect) We found another room Went back and checked and our rooms were rented Both nights But they wouldn’t give our refund Because they still had vacancies But our rooms were rented still no refund I called one last time to see if they were going to refund us and the owner hung up in my ear ... Beds very uncomfortable ,rooms musty ,shower very small and owners very rude

We stayed in cabin 4 July 10-18. Cabins are very nice and spacious and have everything you need. The only thing is you must check out by 9 am and the office does not open till 10. Before check out I washed all the towel and went one step further and stripped both beds and had them in the wash . We got a call from Gaudet 2 hours later saying there were 2 pillows missing. We told them there was 1 extra pillow in each closet with a blanket and two on each bed with 2 pillow shams. They said no there was 2 extra in each room. So my mother in law who is 77 yrs old went over to try and solve the issue who stayed in the 2nd bedroom was told she could not see the room and what is done was done. Why would we take 2 pillows when we were flying to Alta. that day. We are 61 and 56 years old and are we going to throw our clothes out to steal pillows in our suitcases. They should go in with their customers and go over everything and ensure nothing is missing so this does not happen to someone else. This has given us a bad experience and will not stay there again. They are going to charge our MC for the pillows and I am anxious to see the charge!!

Just came back from a trip throught the East Coast and have to say that after I read the last review about this place I was kind of worried. After having overpriced, small and smelly accomondation both in P.E.I and NS we were sooooo!!!!!! happy when we arrived at the Caudet cottage. We were 4 adults and 1 child. The cottage totally surprised us with the huge kitchen/living room space and the more than spacious bedrooms. It had everything we could have wished for and ,more and was extreamly clean.I am wondering where the last reviewers were staying because NOTHING was like they discribed it.Thanks to that last bad review my whole family was worried if we will ever get a break with good accomondation after what we had to endure in the last 2 provinces. Thanks to Samantha (the owner) for her advice ,(where to go and what to do )we had at last an enjoyable last few days, despite the bad weather. The only thing we had to complain about was the weather and that the location is a bit far away from the beach (you kind of have to drive)but central enough to walk anywhere else.So whoever is thinking about spending time at this establishment....go for it!!!!!
On a different note I will have to say that I am in no way related to the owners as the other reviewer is claiming about evrybody who has something nice to say......I just felt that I had to add my 5 cents because I do think that my good opinion counts just as much as the bad one

From the people to the chalets, Gaudet Chalets and Motels was absolutely fantastic! We were going to stay only for a night or two then drive onto Nova Scotia, but we couldn't. We had to stay the week - it was our honeymoon and we couldn't have asked for anything better. The Chalets are perfect. Fully furnished with full sized appliances and even had all the cuttlery, plates, tea kettle, and washer and dryer. It's like home away from home. The area was quiet and yet everything is just accross the street - restaurants (Tim Hortons and an ice cream parlor too - perfect!) within walking distance. The staff were amazing. Samantha and Richard always made sure we were taken care of. Top Notch! We highly recommend Gaudet Chalets and Motels and will gladly drive the fourteen hours it took us Ontarians to get there, again and again. A honeymoon we will always remember and plan to relive in the near future!

My sister and I spent a couple of weeks in August and really enjoyed our stay. The chalet was clean and ALLERGY proof (ceramic floors). There's also nothing like being able to toss your stuff in the washer/dryer after a full day at the beach. The neighbourhood was quiet and felt safe. Timmy's and McDonald's are right across the street. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. We both loved it! It's where we'll be staying on future trips.

Let's start with the positive things:
- very clean
- pet friendly
- checkin staff very friendly, helpful, courteous
- quiet at night (no noise that we noticed)

Negative things:
- decor dated, and personally I thought the cost of the room ($145 incl taxes for 2 double-beds, fridge & micro, pet-friendly) didn't reflect in the decor and/or amenties
- world's hardest beds (seriously ... my back is still aching);
- world's smallest shower ... not sure a really large person could use the shower; my husband is 6'2" and had a difficult time.

Location - OK, not really close to the beach if that is your thing, but not bad.

Response from GaudetChalets, Manager at Gaudet Chalet & Motel Shediac
Responded Aug 14, 2012
Thank you for your recent review of our rooms. We appreciate your feedback and strive to make your next stay a better one. Our rooms are fairly new as we are only 81/2 years old and only open in the summer. That is why our decor is slightly dated as it's difficult to replace items that still look new for lack of use. Being open 4 months a year has made our decor last a bit longer than most places open year round. We realize that but our photos on our website do show the exact rooms as they are now. We do have plans to change the decor soon. Please keep an eye on us. As for the beds, this is the first time anyone has said they were too firm. We will look into this. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have already starting making changes to our bathrooms to change them over from showers to full tubs. We have completed 6 of our rooms already. I am sorry you did not get one of those rooms during your stay but the renovations are under way. Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused you. We hope that you will give us another chance in the near future. We will work to improve. -Samantha Manager

My girlfriends and I stayed here for two nights during peak season (August) and although the cabins were relatively clean, check-in wasn't until 4 pm and check-out was 9am. This seems pretty early but to top it off we had to wash our own towels before we left and take out the garbage! Won't be recommending this to those who like to relax without house chores while they are on vacation...

Response from GaudetChalets, Owner at Gaudet Chalet & Motel Shediac
Responded Jul 12, 2010
We are sorry to hear that you where unhappy with your stay. These are housekeeping units and we tell all of our chalet customers before even taking a reservation that at checkout there will be a few small tasks to be completed.(start dishwasher, start towels in the unit's washer and take out the garbage. This takes less than 5 minutes to do). We explain this to each client before the reservation is made and again at check in time. We are sorry this did not suit your needs. In the future, we could suggest other accomadations (like our motel rooms) that are not housekeeping units.

Hello, thank you for asking this question.... Parlee Beach is inside a Provincial Park.....That means that all commercial cottages and Motels are situated outside of the Provincial Park Grounds. We are located 1 km from the entrance of the Provincial Park entrance but from the entrance to the water it is another 1.5 km. There is a bicycle trail that goes to the beach that makes it a bit shorter. We usually say it is less than 5 minutes by car. Be careful as some motels in town say within walking distance to the beach. They say this because technically it is true that they are walking distance because they are close to the entrance but they don't say anything about the 1.5 km to walk after that. With our chalet and our suites this year, we have passes that let you park at Parlee Beach for free. We do not have the passes for the motel rooms. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact us at any time.
