Motel and cottages in the heart of Shediac. Many restaurants nearby. I booked late so could only rent a room with a queen size bed in the motel. I really wished I had booked earlier to get a cottage (but they are rented by the week). The room was clean and of a good size, with a small table, chairs and a sofa bed. The furniture was outdated but met the need for a short term stay. The AC was a new unit that worked well. The mini fridge/freezer had a convenient size. The internet was free and a bit slow at times but it worked. No coffee machine in the room but Tim Horton's and others are nearby. It's a typical motel for the area.

This motel and everywhere else we saw in Shediac was beautifully maintained. What a pleasure! The Gaudet Chalets and Motel is classic accommodation. It’s not fancy. Our motel room had two double beds, a little table with four chairs, a fridge and microwave, a basic shower stall and AIR CONDITIONING, which we were happy about, during a heat wave. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were pretty soundproof and we had a great sleep. I would recommend this motel to anyone who wants a basic, clean and safe place to stay. We would stay again.

We booked the Motel for a 3 night stay(2 couples) after the first night we try to check out because the beds were so uncomfortable either couple got all but a couple hours of sleep. We approach the owners to see if we could change rooms but was told there was no other rooms, after going back and forth we were told if we wanted to leave our key they would try and rent them and give us our money back (Perfect) We found another room Went back and checked and our rooms were rented Both nights But they wouldn’t give our refund Because they still had vacancies But our rooms were rented still no refund I called one last time to see if they were going to refund us and the owner hung up in my ear ... Beds very uncomfortable ,rooms musty ,shower very small and owners very rude

No out door ash trays, no out door garbage cans, hard flat pillows, old air conditioners that don’t work well at all very noisy. Barbecues there but not allowed to use them, couldn’t up grade to chalets because didn’t cancel rooms before 24 hours doesn’t make sense they could have upgraded us made more money n still rented out our rooms. Not very friendly helpful people at all. Very out dated place they could take some money from hotel and chalets income up grade to a better place. We will certainly go elsewhere next time.

I stayed one night here in one of the motel rooms. The owners are fantastic and interesting to speak with. The room was large, but the bathroom and shower stall were very small. The motel rooms are set far back from the main street and so you hear nothing. A couple minor complaints would be that the bed was a bit too hard for my liking and the room had a bit of a musty smell to it. However, rates are really good for the area and I would stay here again.

We just spent a week in one of the chalets and we were very pleased with our stay. If you are looking for amazingly clean accommodations, this is the place. We had four adults and there was plenty of room. My son slept on the pull out sofa and was very comfortable with that. The beds and pillows were excellent, including the pull out mattress. We had no trouble starting the washer and dishwasher on check out day, we loaded the night before and hit start in the morning. Well worth having immaculate accommodations if you ask me. Lastly, the owners are very friendly and willing to help with anything you need. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Spent a few days in Shediac and this place was top notch!! We had a two bedroom cottage (and after being in the same room with three kids for 8 days this was wonderful!) Full kitchen that was stocked with everything we needed! Washer/dryer and living room! Each cottage is named for family members and the doors and chairs outside are individual to each cottage! Small play area for kids and a bottomless ice machine!! Owners are friendly, knowledgeable of the area and offer free passes for Parlee Beach access! Bonus!! Price is great and the whole place is clean and comfortable!! Highly recommend!! Coming back for sure!!!

I travelled from British Columbia with 3 kids and was catching a train from Moncton and requested for 10am checkout. They billed my credit card $100.00. Obvious they are desperate as during booking they sold me "last cottage" and there were plenty unoccupied during our stay.

Response from GaudetChalets, Owner at Gaudet Chalet & Motel Shediac
Responded Aug 8, 2017
On June 12, 2017 when you called to reserve, we mentioned all the booking information to you BEFORE we took a credit card number. We told you check in, check out times as well as cancellation policy and what was included in the unit. Only after that did we take a credit card number for a deposit, giving you every opportunity to change your mind if these conditions were not to your liking. When you arrived at our office on July 19th, 2017, I did your check in and you signed our document that again said check out time, rules for the chalet, and the fees for a late check out. AFTER you signed it, you tried to insist that I give you a late check out. I told you that all our chalets were booked for the day you were leaving (July 23rd) and that since Sunday is our busiest day, a late check out was not possible since you had already agreed to the terms of booking. These are not small units and they take time to clean. You said ".....I can appreciate your your situation BUT I came all the way from BC and you should do this for me" You then said "I'll let you think about it....." then you left for your stay. As a rule, all our customers come from great distances away BUT everyone pays the same price and are told the same rules. I am sorry we could not give you special treatment. We have been doing it this way for 15 years and our customers appreciate how clean our units are. On the 23rd after over 1 hour and 20 minutes past check out time you dropped off the keys and left without a word. You decided to stay longer than check out and you must have hoped that the rules did not apply to you just cause you tried to pressure me. I am sorry that it did not work out for you. When you called to ask why you were charged the late check out, my husband explained it to you and you threatened to give us a bad review. I guess you have done that. I am sorry that your vacation was not to your liking. I am sure that your chalet was exactly as advertised and clean. I am sorry that was not enough for you. I am not trying to start a fight. We might not be the best fit for everyone but we do not hide anything when people reserve with us. Please know that we try our best and sometimes that is not enough for everyone. Samantha Gaudet

Was a clean spot to stay in great location Playground for the kids and lots of space. Our washer flooded on day 1 of a 4 day stay and was not fixed- made it hard with two kids and lots of beach trips to have clean clothes when we were counting on it. Also checkout is at 9AM!!! We were charged 100$ to leave at 11 AM so our 1 yr old could get his first nap. That felt like a scam to me and didnt sit well with us- would not stay here again because of that.
