We recently stayed three nights at Compton House after two weeks of touring Newfoundland. We were comfortable in our stay: Our room was clean and spacious, and we enjoyed the well appointed bathroom with Jacuzzi and tiled shower. It was a 25 minutes walk to downtown, but the walk was interesting. We found the Compton staff helpful but more reserved...

We stayed at both leaside and Compton and really enjoyed our stay in both lodges. The breakfasts were delicious and the staff were always very helpful and courteous. The rooms were a good size (one of ours was quite large), very comfortable and we had no issues with noise. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to any couples passing...

My husband and I found Compton House to be a treat. Each room looked lovely, the staff was very helpful, and breakfast was delicious. The walk to town wasn't too pleasant in the rain -- cars splashed us -- but once we were there, there was a lot to see and many restaurants to choose from.

It was our first time at the Compton House. We stayed at the Pippy Suite - a beautiful room. Champagne was waiting and so was a fire log in the fireplace. Had a late check in and a late check out. Breakfast in Bed too. A wonderful start to our Honey Moon.

We stayed in the Northern Suite - was quite surprised to find a full-sized jacuzzi in the bedroom and a walk in wardrobe complete with a fridge. The breakfast was very good as well and the staff friendly and welcoming. It was described on our itinerary as an Inn. It isn't as it has neither bar nor restaurant but is...

The location is approximately a 15 minute walk from downtown. Having stayed downtown as well, I preferred this location - good to walk off the deep fried dinner or beer you just had. Our room was well appointed, online photos did not do it justice at all - I was pleasantly surprised. Baffin Suite had two rooms large bedroom with...

The rooms at both compton house and leaside manor are beautiful. We stayed in the Pippy Suite and Baffin room this time. The Pippy Suite was incredible, the bed was wonderful and we enjoyed wine in front of the fireplace. No words to describe... Night 2 in the Baffin suite, modern and gorgeous. The 2 person tub in this room...

1st time in NFL and staying at Compton House. It's is so beautiful. 1st class staff, decor, food, everything about this place took my breath away. It was our last stop before coming home. Because we booked at Leaside Manor, is how we found out about this place. Smart and educated and super polite/ & sweet staff was what made...

We took the only room with two beds. Very clean and well run place. The beds could have been softer, but the beds in the other rooms were more comfortable. The breakfasts were wonderful - freshly prepared with tasty muffins and eggs any way you like. Would choose this place whenever we go back.
