We enjoyed our stay at the Murray Premises. Our room was spacious and clean. The hotel is at the waterfront, within walking distance to downtown restaurants, stores, pubs. Having free parking available was a bonus.

A very nice hotel. Great location right next to the harbour and Water St. With all the pubs. We had the signature king room on the fourth floor of the north wing. Beautiful room with historic charm of the wood work and Timbers. The only problem was the the windows were very small and above your head so you could see out side. Of the two windows one was further restricted because the portable air conditioner was ducted out the bottom half of the window. Very disappointing. If you are staying here make sure you check this out before you sign on.

We stayed here one night in July and thoroughly enjoyed the room. The room was very large and overlooked the parking lot and bay. They had done a good job, renovating the building from an old warehouse into a hotel. The bathroom was large with a large walk-in shower, which we prefer. The shower took a little while to learn to operate, but had a good water flow. The room was very clean. We did hear some noise in the hallway at times but it was not a big problem. Breakfast was continental style with muffins, fruit, yogurt, and two different kinds of coffee. There were some other items for breakfast and it was adequate even though I prefer eggs at breakfast. We were on a two week trip and stayed in 11 different hotels. Of those, we agreed that this was our favorite hotel room. Would definitely stay here again. It was very convenient to restaurants and shopping downtown.…

This hotel is in a great central location and within easy walking distance of local restaurants/bars and the centre of town. Very welcoming and friendly front of house staff, but unfortunately some are inexperienced with little knowledge of handling customer enquiries/needs e.g. a straight forward taxi request, with specific car size needs for extra luggage space. Sadly they’d very little knowledge of their local area or wider Newfoundland knowledge. It is described as boutique hotel – from what we saw, it should be described as antiquated! The décor and general fittings/furniture are dated, smelly, and not exactly spotlessly clean. The 2 bedrooms we saw had exposed low wooden beams and pillars, with single small windows and were dark and dingy, with no proper lighting, even when all the different lamps supplied were switched on! There was next to no sound proofing and we could clearly hear conference calls in rooms next to us. The en suite was dated with a tiny bath that was dangerous in that you could easily slip on it, and no grab rails to assist if needed. The lift is so old that it doesn’t recognise when someone is walking into it, so the doors automatically close if you’re delayed entry! Their continental ‘breakfast’ offering is muffins/cereal bars/bananas, with tea/coffee and OJ/water. In fact on our 2nd morning there was no bananas and when we asked for 1, we were told they’d run out! …

The Positives: The hotel felt old-fashioned, but was excellent. Our room faced the street which was okay, but you could not keep the curtains opened because many people could see in with the lights on. The room was exquisite with updates. It had wood beams and the wall was brick with plenty of sunlight. The bed was terrific and the bathroom quite modern. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The breakfast was truly continental style, so if you are one looking for eggs, bacon, etc. you will be disappointed. The muffins were fresh and the coffee was Keurig's. The Negative: The rooms are definitely not sound proof. The first night we heard something being thrown at the wall behind our bed as well as the loud stomping of feet above us all nights we stayed there. All in all, we would definitely stay there again.…

Great stay, booked a king suite and it was excellent, very spacious and the walk-in shower had three heads, plus a jetted tub. The breakfast options were decent, with a selection of fruits, instant oatmeal, yogurt, muffins, coffee and tea. Perfectly located to walk around town, or stumble back from a night on George St. Comes with free parking, which is a rarity downtown.

The hotel was clean and quiet but the advertised attached shops and restaurants were up for sale and closed. We had great difficulty in finding somewhere to eat as restaurants were fully booked. Our room was upstairs so had sloping ceiling. Very dark. Breakfasts were very poor - just sponge buns, yoghurt, biscuits. Nothing for gluten free diet (despite having been requested on booking) - just a biscuit and yoghurt. Tea and coffee was available all day.

This hotel has charm. It is centrally located downtown near pubs and shopping. Room was large with a spacious bathroom. Only beef was that the people next door were very noisy into the wee hours and when we called the front desk, there was no answer (3 times)!

We loved the central location and the exceptional service of the Murray Premises. A large group of friends stayed for five days and we loved the staff and service - friendly, helpful (with taxis and recommendations). quick to address minor concerns. My room was large and tucked into the wooden eaves. It was quiet despite facing a courtyard -- and comfortable. Murray Premises has an easy access to Water Street and many restaurants, stores and pubs. The hotel had a good breakfast room and all day coffee. I liked the quaint room and enjoyed the stay. If you have mobility concerns, you may want to ask abouot a shower option, rather than the elevated tub.

Room 423 was the coziest hotel room I have ever stayed in! I wish it was my everyday home. Some of the rooms have huge vaulted ceilings but mine was low. I could hear the rain patter on the wood beam roof. The massive bathroom with heated floors and glassed in jacuzzi tub was a delight. I felt like a super glamourous hobbit. The location was perfect (the view blocked a lot by a giant The Keg, but nothing is perfect ). The staff are absolutely lovely and helpful.
