We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights, and checked into a room with two beds. The pros: The room was quite spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable with warm and cozy comforters/blankets. The room temperature I set at 21C and was quite comfortable and don't feel the dryness. The noise from the heater was acceptable. The water pressure in the shower and the softness of the water were great. The cons: The water did not drain very well at the sink. The food choices at the buffet breakfast I felt was a little bit limited. No convenient electrical outlets to recharge various equipment such as computers, and cellphones. No shower caps provided in the bathroom. We have to ask to get them. The sofas and chairs in the lobby were quite rundown and need replacing. The staff at the front desk and the restaurant were not rude, but also not particularly friendly.

Clean, pretty quiet (surprising because people are coming in and out at all hours of the day and night), good front desk. Constant lobby activity with people walking around with huge bags of rental winter coats and boots coming in and out from day tours and aurora viewing trips. It’s open all night, so don’t worry if they don’t answer their phones. Front desk is there. Sauna and steam room weren’t open. Easy walk to grocery.

We stayed here for 4 nights. I booked 2 rooms and requested they be side by side. We ended up down the hall from each other which was annoying. We didn’t get our room serviced our entire stay, and we had to ask housekeeping for fresh towels and a garbage bag for our rubbish. Front desk staff weren’t overly friendly. The airport shuttle doesn’t turn up, so don’t even bother. Just get a taxi. Rooms were nice though, very comfortable and warm. TV is rubbish, doesn’t work and hardly any channels. Little kitchenette in the room with a kettle, toaster and microwave but no plates, bowls or cutlery? Weird. Location is very good, right in downtown Yellowknife. Would recommend, but there are a few things this hotel needs to fine tune.

Common areas look very nice! The rooms are terrible and not maintained. Our blinds for the window have half the slots missing ( found them in the closet). The couch is old and broken down - the cushions sink below the frame when you sit down. We paid for a one bedroom suite with a kitchen and it's very sparsely furnished with old worn stuff. When I call for a problem, I'm told someone will come - and nobody does. Our TV doesn't work and can't get anyone here. The staff is nice and very polite, but the execution is lacking..... Room was not well cleaned when we arrived. We had to ask for clean sheets and change them ourselves, as the housekeeping staff was gone. I can not recommend this place - three nights to go for a premium price and sub standard facilities. Live and learn.

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights on Jan10-14 and we enjoyed every moment. We had a King Room on the 4th floor. The hotel met every need you could ask for. The room was clean, the king bed was super comfy, the heater was quiet, lots of hot water and shower pressure, in room safe, and super quiet! The room even had a boot/glove heater/dryer. Given that it was brutally cold outside during our stay, inside was nice and warm. Also, if you are going out at night to see the Northern Lights, you don't get back to your hotel until around 2:00 a.m., so it's very important that your room is quiet so you can sleep. And our room was super quiet, even in the hallways. We ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant every day and the food was amazing. The breakfast buffet had a huge selection and the food was always plentiful and always hot. This is the first hotel buffet I have ever been to where the French Toast and pancakes were perfect. The French Toast was egg dipped, a little crispy on the outside, but nice and moist on the inside. The pancakes were nice and fluffy and not dried out. We also ate dinner one night in the hotel, and the food was also very good. At all times, the service was excellent. The front lobby was also very nice. Overall, we had a great stay and we're glad we chose this hotel! We spoke with other people who were dissappointed in their choices at other hotels. If you want to stay at the best hotel in Yellowknife, choose Chateau Nova. You won't be disappointed.

We had to cancel our 2 night stay due to a flight delay and wanted to reschedule for a date in March. They refused to grant our request so we were out a one night stay. I do recognized that last minute cancellations prevent others from staying and the hotel from full occupancy; however, weather conditions could be taking into account and the other thing to consider is business being able to write off losses due to cancellations. We have not made up our mind if we will book the Chateau Nova Yellowknife in March because of the very mixed reviews and photos.

A wonderful property, large rooms with good amenities made for a wonderful stay. The customer service team is great! The only issue is with housekeeping. It is such a touristic place that the focus is on check-outs only and you can expect a housekeeping visit after 5pm.

The Chateau Nova in Yellowknife, NWT is a lovely hotel. The rooms are roomy, clean and very nice, comfortable beds. When I got there (I had traveled a great distance and was travelling alone) I had to wait awhile for a room as the check in isn't until 4 p.m. (their website actually states 3 p.m.). There was also a large tourist group waiting for rooms at the same time I was. Being very tired and experiencing some pain, I spoke with one of the front desk receptionist who was able to help me. My suitcases were put in the back and she told me as soon as a room on the top floor (my choice) was available, she would let me know. And not to long after, she did.She also went above and beyond to help me as I wasn't moving too fast. She helped me with my suitcases and brought me right up to my room, checked the room to make sure everything was good. She went above and beyond, and here is a call out to Christine, she was a great help to me. Thank you Christine and thank you staff at Chateau Nova Yellowknife. Great place and walking distance to the main part of town.

This hotel for me is a bit strange. Strange is because it looks like new and model hotel but the furniture are old. Like the chairs on the lobby, it is all damaged.......the carpet looks old too, the table, the draw all old. overall looking is new, nice and clean but if you look at the detail you find they are not really that new. another thing is the soundproof is very bad for such a nice hotel. i can hear water from other room, tv shows from another room, people walking from upstairs', people talking from outside.....can't believe this My room is clean and big, no complain of that and the window can open, i am happy about it as the whole hotel like burning oven to me, too hot...........i have to turn on air conditioning instead of heat in my room. the bathroom is ok, enough room but i hate the shower, it is not hand over, and the water pressure is too not hard enough, very hard to wash. there is a fitness club and there is a sauna, that is good but a lot of machine is not working............ Room services is a bit slow or i am not sure because mostly people are sleeping during the day, so they don't border too much, and the cleaning is not really clean, they just tide up the room, change the towel only,.........not really that great ! the restaurant is small, food so so good.........i have a roasted chicken and it is not fully cooked, still frozen when i have it......price is a bit too much also the location is not bad, close to supermarket, museum but still a bit far compare to Quality inn location.......i am still fine but for some old man, still a bit walking...........lucky the bus stop is close to the hotel.......... overall i am ok with this hotel but need some improvement. not sure how to improve the soundproof.........and pls turn down the heat, a bit too hot on Sept

The hotel is beautiful. Rooms are clean and spacious, with lots of pillows for comfort. Fridge and microwave in room is a plus. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Restaurant had good food, but service was a bit slow. Easy walk to downtown or the Northern Heritage Museum and Legislative Building
