Good Shuttle, nice folks at check in. Can never understand when you book 3 to a room why they only leave towels for 2. However, they did deliver them promptly. Our room was fine, beds comfy (but we were there during the time of forest fire smoke, so without a window to open when it rained in the night to...

I recently stayed here two nights for business. The Explorer is a wonderful place in context of the North. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Good furnishings and a service oriented staff. The restaurant at Trappers is a good one. Well located to the New Downtown and the Legislature.

What more do I need to say? It's convenient for early flights and late arrivals, the duvets are wonderful, the staff is friendly, and the in-house restaurant is good. It's a bit of a schlep to walk to Old Town--maybe 20-25 minutes--but it's cheek-by-jowl with the Prince of Wales center and the Visitor Center (which offers free use of some...

The Explorer is a very well located, full service hotel. Good room variety, excellent restaurant and bar, free airport shuttle and great service. Fitness centre a little out of the way and small but it works. Pricing competitive for good properties north of 60. Stayed here several times and will again next week.

Was up in YK for 3 days 2 nights August 10-12. Got there on an early flight so room wasn't ready but they have a secure luggage storage and room was ready when promised (still well before regular check-in time). Ate at the in-hotel Trader's Grill for breakfast twice, once with buffet and once off menu, and it was excellent...

Comfortable stay. Clean, well appointed rooms. Staff efficient and helpful. Restaurant was very nice...especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Convenient to walk into town and see the sights and hotel helpfully stored our luggage once we had checked out until it was time to go to the airport.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay of 4 nights during the Canada Day week. Very nice hotel, restaurant, lounge, lobby. Even when our air conditioning failed to work one evening, a fan was supplied, and next morning the AC was fixed. The front desk staff disappointed us, as they were not very helpful in knowing what was happening in the city...

Stayed here for 4 nights and received impeccable service. Housecleaning staff was really polite and thorough. Surprised to find a Lindt chocolate on the pillow. My husband loved the bed and duvet covers. We had a lake view in the distance. Nice toiletries and large counter in the bathroom. Ate at the Trap line lounge the first night as we...

We, my husband and I stayed at the Explorer hotel for four nights total. Our room was clean and spacious. The shuttle to and from airport was included and came in handy. Our room was ready when we arrived. Once at the hotel we could walk to almost everything in Yellowknife. Visitors center, shoppers drug mart, Heritage museum all within...

Business takes me to Yellowknife at least once or twice a year. I've stayed in all the hotels at least once and I can say, without doubt, that the Explorer provides the best accommodation in the city. Now that's not to say they aren't without their faults. Service at the front desk is inconsistent at best. On two different occasions...
