Blachford Lake Lodge is a hidden gem surrounded by nature and beautiful views everywhere you look! The GNWT restrictions on travel provided my friends and me with a unique opportunity to visit this stunning eco-lodge. The amenities were endless and we were able to enjoy the hot tub, skiing, reading in the lodge, fires and roasting marshmallows in the tipi, fat biking, hiking, skating, earring making, syrup salve making, and so many more activities. The food was incredible and I miss being able to check the board to see the day's menu options. The rooms in the lodge were very comfortable, and we had gorgeous views of the sunrise each morning!
Was an amazing 3 days enjoying the Christmas period at the lodge, food was excellent, company great and the staff went above and beyond. Great way to vacation in your back yard and share a special time of year!
I was hesitant at first because of the rather high price (despite the sale), but I'm really glad I went. The place is gorgeous, with trails all over and a lot of activities. You can even borrow a motor boat and go fishing. It's also a great place for aurora viewing. The food is delicious - possibly the best place I've eaten in the North! The main lodge as well as the adjacent cabins are charming and confortable. The staff is also very pleasant and helpful. The only downside is that you will never want to leave.
Two days at Blachford Lake Lodge was just what we needed this summer. The lodge and the people working there made us feel right at home. The food was fantastic, with veggies fresh from the garden (yes, broccoli grows in the Northwest Territories). The lake and the land were also welcoming. I highly recommend Blachford Lodge. Don’t just put it on your bucket lists, book a stay and go!
Wonderful home away from home! A 20 minute float plane ride to fantastic food, friendly staff, cozy cabin, lovely lodge and so many options to get out on the water. Wacko the dog - a great trail buddy!
