Looking for a nice B&B in south-western Nova Scotia we decided, based on its excellent reviews, to give The Cooper’s Inn in Shelburne a go. Upon arriving we were greeted by Amanda, a relatively young (early 30s) woman who we assumed was an employee. But wrong we were when she immediately mentioned she was three weeks in as the new owner of the Inn. After a bit of history she showed us to the Gracie Room, a large Deluxe King corner room with a great view to the north of Shelburne’s harbour. The bathroom was a bit small but did include a nice tub, very much appreciated after a day of wandering through the beautiful town. A focus of Amanda’s is having guests interact with each other. This started in the cozy breakfast room where it is hard not to chat with others. That’s…
Amanda's a great host, rooms are clean and spacious, on the water, lovely garden setting, convenient to everything. The Cooper's is a must when in Shelburne; very convenient to the Yarmouth-Bar Harbor ferry as well.
We had a small, upstairs room. Simply delightful room decor. The garden area is stunning. Breakfast was good and filling also. Owner very friendly and helped us find a place for dinner. Location right on the water. Very peaceful little town.
We recently spent two nights in the Harbour Suite (3 adults), which has a wonderful view, a fully equipped kitchen, a sitting area and very comfortable beds. We found the suite to be meticulously clean when we arrived. The host, Amanda, is very gracious, and welcomes guests in the lovely garden every day at 5 pm with a glass of wine. She serves a home cooked breakfast every morning, and it was delicious! We will definitely return!
We enjoyed a four night stay at the Cooper's Inn. The location and inn exceeded our expectations. First of all, we were delighted by numerous stellar sunsets with Shelburne Harbour as its stage. We did not anticipate the Inn's close proximity to the harbor. The rooms were comfortable, immaculately clean, and quiet. The outdoor patio and garden were especially charming. The town itself has a rich history and we enjoyed strolls along the waterfront. We applaud the innkeeper who is gracious and warm. She is the perfect person to run a property like this. And the breakfast she prepared for us was absolutely delicious. We were so glad to have stayed during our first visit to Nova Scotia!
We can't say enough about our very enjoyable stay at Cooper's Inn B&B . Great location close to everythingthe area has to offer. The garden in the courtyard was so peaceful.. Our room was charming, There was an adorable teddy bear on our bed to take home, "no strings attached". Breakfast was superb. We found our innkeepers to be so hospitable and friendly!
This is a beautiful old building, lovingly maintained and with considerable warmth. The room was excellent with nice touches, including cooper the stuffed bear. Our hosts were welcoming and very informative. If you have time, explore the area using the historical map provided. David chatted with us at breakfast and provided us with the history of the town. Very informative. Breakfast was excellent as well. Don’t miss this B&B.
We had booked on the wrong date but upon arrival they were able to accommodate us albeit in another room. The room was very comfortable and clean. We had great suggestions for lunch and dinner and the included breakfast was perfect. Would highly recommend.
Absolutely an incredible experience, Pat and David went above and beyond to ensure our weekend was memorable. From the history chats in the garden, with a wine glass of course, to the tasty lobster dinner all prepared by them. Couldn't find a good way to express our appreciation for the hospitality that would describe our experience. Thank you both. Randy, Wendy, Warren and Nerissa.
We enjoyed everything about our visit to the Cooper’s Inn in Shelburne, from the comfortable room with large, bright windows to the lovely garden. Our hosts, Pat and Dave, made us feel at home right away, offering a relaxing happy hour in the garden each day and spectacular breakfasts. Don’t miss the French toast or fish cakes. So good. We hope to return to this welcoming inn before too long - a delightful break in these covid times.
