We spent a wonderful night at Blue Shutters at the end of September. Darryl was a most welcoming and informative host. Our room was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean with a lovely view of the surrounding gardens and a wonderfully comfortable bed. The ensuite bath was large, clean and modern with a fabulous shower. The location is perfect - right in the heart of Wolfville, yet just off the main street enough to feel like you're out in the woods. We can't recommend Blue Shutters enough. We hope we will have another opportunity to stay there. We also enjoyed our dinner at Paddy's Pub as recommended by Darryl. Thanks Darryl and Diane!

My wife and I stayed there for 2 nights in June, 2011. Very quiet, comfortable, large room that included a great bed, a private deck, spa tub and large flat screen TV/DVD. The yard around the inn was beautifully landscaped and fragant with the spring flowers. The innkeeper, Darryl, was a font of information about the things to see and do in the area. He could work for the tourist bureau if he gets out of the B&B biz. My wife is a litlle picky about food and greatly appreciated the multiple options on the breakfast menu, all prepared to order. There was a well appointed living room with an even larger flat screen TV and many DVDs available for viewing. Free WiFi was provided. Downtown Wolfville was a pleasant 10 minute walk away. This was our favorite lodging on our two week trip to Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.

Thank you for the wonderful words of praise. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and that is why we have a menu on the table for you to choose from. It works on so many levels as you say for those who are a bit specific about what they want and for those with various allergies. Offering choices of not only the main course but the options to have Gluten Free, Dairy Free or both helps us create as you say "A Breakfast to Your liking".

We stayed at the Blue Shutters B&B in early July this year and were delighted by the cleanliness, the comfort and the owners, who were friendly without being intrusive. A beautiful breakfast was offered with lots of menu choices on offer. Another lovely feature is the fridge for guests to use and a hot beverage area to use at any time of day/night. The photos on the website do not do this B&B justice. It is amazing value for the money. I would stay at this B&B again in a heartbeat.

We stayed at the Blue Shutters while visiting our daughter at Acadia. As other reviewers have said, the beds are comfortable, the hospitality is first class, the grounds are lovely, and the breakfast is great. A variety of options are available for breakfast, which is unusual for a place with only three rooms. Your only difficulty will be choosing between the tempting selections. Our daughter was also able to join us for breakfast, which was greatly appreciated.

The owners go out of their way to accommodate, so whether you feel like watching a movie from the huge DVD collection or relaxing on the deck, you will find this an unpretentious, comfortable base for your visit to the Valley.

This charming B&B is close to downtown Wolfville. The rooms are very well appointed, with air conditioning, fans, comfortable beds, etc. The bathrooms are new and are furnished with mirrors, hair dryer, shampoo and other toiletries.

The house has a bright living room and dining room. Books, videos, and the newspaper are there for the guests. There is a lovely outdoor shaded sitting area. The gardens are lovely. Guests may make their own coffee or tea and ice water is available.

Breakfast is excellent. There is a menu to choose from, including pancakes, French toast, eggs, bagels, etc.

I began and ended my trip to the Maritimes at the Blue Shutters. Of all the B&B's I stayed at in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and PEI, the Blue Shutters was my favourite, by far. Daryl and Diane have done everything right. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and contain everything you need for comfort and convenience. They are also spotless. I don't think I've ever been in such a clean house!! The breakfast options are amazing, and I loved chatting with Daryl and Diane while I ate each morning. They are lovely people, and live up to the friendly, welcoming reputation that Maritimers are famous for.

I will likely visit Wolfville many times over the coming years, as my son studies at Acadia, and I will definitely stay at The Blue Shutters every time. There's no point in looking anywhere else.

We stayed at Blue Shutters twice in 2011. The first time I stayed in August when I took my daughter out to Wolfville for her first year at Acadia University. The second was when my husband and I returned in October to visit her over the long weekend. It is a little farther from downtown Wolfville than some of the other B & B's, but it's price makes up for that. Diane and Darryl are most excellent hosts. The rooms are clean and each have their own bathroom. We stayed in the Yellow Room both times. At Breakfast, you are given several choices, all of which are good and the portions are large. Even during the power outage in August when Hurricane Irene made her presence known, Darryl served up a superb breakfast on their gas range, including toast! Wolfville itself is beautiful as is the Acadia campus. Check out our favourite restaurants, The Library Pub and Paddy's. Darryl can give you a voucher for a free beer at Paddy's. The Library Pub has a small, very delicious menu and a wide range of beer and wine. Paddy's has a large menu of local fare and pub grub and they served an entire Thanksgiving dinner over the long weekend with all the fixings and it was a real turkey. Something along the lines of $10.99 each! We used Wolfville as a launching point to explore some of the tourist areas including Peggy's Cove, Mahone Bay and Lunenburg. They are must sees if you are in Nova Scotia! Next trip out we will stay at Blue Shutters again and are planning on taking in Fort Louisberg and Cape Breton.

I have always avoided B & B's as I like my own space, but if they are all as good as the Blue Shutters I am converted! We stayed 2 nights in July and were treated with every courtesy and friendliness. The home and gardens are beautiful, and my 20yr old daughter voted Blue Shutters as her favourite accommodation on our 16 days in Canada. She particularly enjoyed the extensive DVD collection. The breakfast was very tasty and plentiful. When I said we were having a picnic lunch Diane insisted we take some plates and cutlery with us, and Darryl lent us a map and showed us a route to take for the day. We were able to have some great chats in the kitchen, exchanging cultural similarities and differences from Australia and Canada, and would love to return some day to continue our discussions!

Darryl and Diane are outstanding hosts - warm and knowledgeable without being intrusive. I am fascinated by the Bay of Fundy tides and Darryl sketched out a carefully planned itinerary for nearby tidal spots complete with times. The breakfast was Outstandingly outstanding with a menu of choices for each guest including 3 kinds of pancakes. I ordered the ginger pancakes with lemon sauce and maple bacon. Yummers!!!

Myself and my husband came to the valley with no plans to stay anywhere we were just winging it. My husband called the visitor information centre to see where in town had rooms available and they told us this place ! We were not disappointed at all! We were greeted by Darryl who showed us around the house and our room. Our room had a private balcony and the two person jet tub. He explained that breakfast was served between 8-9am. We asked him for recommendations on places to eat and vineyards to see, he pulled out a map and showed us about 10 places right away! We checked out two of his recommendations and were not disappointed ! Daryll is very knowledgeable of the area! The bed was super comfy, the room had lots of room, there’s a tv with fibre op and a mini fridge.
Breakfast the next morning was great ! He remembered that I’m a coffee drinker and my husband is just good with plain OJ and had it ready for us! We were served fresh berries and cream while waiting for our pancakes and bacon ! After reading previous reviews we knew we had to get the pancakes and they were just as good as home! Fluffy and served piping hot!
This place is located on a quiet street off the main area of town, walking distance to everything you need ! 110% recommend this place and if we’re ever in the valley again we will be staying here ! Thank you Daryll and your wife for welcoming us into your lovely home !

The price that we paid for the room we had was $135.00 plus tax. Not sure if prices change during the seasons. Thanks for the question.
