So many excellent points, too numerous to itemize! The room was spectacular and the food incredible! We booked for two nights and loved every moment! As an extra treat for my wife I ordered the charcuterie board for the room. This came with a bottle of Nova Scotia sparkling wine and 6 decadent chocolate covered strawberries! There is reserved seating for breakfast, with each seating being given an hour. The food was fresh, hot and delicious! And more than enough time to linger over coffee. All the staff we encountered were so friendly and helpful! Definitely worth the money!

Right from the moment you enter and approach the registration desk, you’re made to feel valued and welcome. Friendly as could possibly be. We stayed in the separate carriage house and the owner took us there, explaining every little thing we would need to know to enjoy our stay in that particular room.
We chose one of the economy rooms, so it was a bit small, but was very cosy and allowed us full control of the mini-split. Slept like a log. Options for wine and water purchase in the room was a nice touch, as was the kettle for those who, like my wife, enjoy tea instead of coffee.
Breakfast was wonderful! Perfect-sized portions, attentive and friendly service, and a room with lots of natural light.
Enjoyed our stay very much and would gladly recommend it to anyone who has the good fortune of spending some time in Wolfville.

The Tattingstone Inn is an absolutely beautiful inn, walking distance from Acadia University, the main street and the waterfront in Wolfville. We stayed in the classic room with private washroom. It was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Erika, our host, was very welcoming and happily helped us with our luggage as the room was on the second floor in the main house.
Breakfast the next morning was wonderful! The dining room is bright and airy, and the menu is very creative, with plenty of choice to accommodate different tastes.
We were only at the Tattingstone Inn for one night and would have loved to stay longer but our itinerary didn’t allow for it. We would highly recommend this wonderful inn.

The Tattingstone Inn was a very mixed experience. Parking behind the inn was convenient and check in was fine. We were offered help with our luggage and taken to our room which was large and seemed well appointed, but the first surprise was the bottles of wine and water with prices attached. On the one hand I suppose it is handy to have the option, particularly as there is a fridge in the room, but it did feel a bit commercial. The bathroom was OK although the bath was ridiculously short, particularly for a six footer, the sink had a crack, and I never particularly like shower curtains. It also became apparent that the decor of the room and hotel was quite tired; peeling paint and dirty window frames.
We had been contacted in advance to advise that our first evening was the last of their gourmet meal experiences, and would we like to join them, $135/head including matching wine. We decided to accept and the meal was excellent with generally extremely pleasant wines. At the end we were offered tea or coffee and we asked for two espressos.
We had been asked on check-in to choose a time for breakfast in advance and we went for 8.30am. Breakfast itself was reasonable although we were a bit surprised at the limitations on choice with prices given for additional items; this felt rather like the same culture that had priced the items in the room and was not something we had seen previously in many years of international travel.
The next evening we went into Wolfville for dinner. It is either a longish walk or a short drive to the restaurant area and we chose the latter; parking in town is easy and my wife's feet were suffering somewhat!
On check out the next morning I was advised that the credit card had already been charged (I had provided details on booking) and that the bill would be emailed to me. I didn't have a problem with that but when I received it early that evening in our next hotel in Charlottetown, I was somewhat surprised by the content. A small amount, I know, but when we had been offered coffee or tea after our $270 dinner, I had naïvely assumed it was included, but a separate $5.90 had been added to the bill. Even more surprisingly was an amount of $45.90 gratuity. No idea of the basis of the calculation and I can only assume it related to the dinner. Clearly it is usual to give a tip after a meal, and conceptually I don't have a problem with that, but one is usually given the choice both of the fact and the amount. If this is intended to be a compulsory predetermined gratuity, it should have been included in the price of the meal i.e. "$315.90, gratuity included".
The Tattingstone has the potential to be an excellent Inn in an interesting town, but we were left feeling it was both the worst and most expensive (excluding the gourmet meal) of the hotels on our tour of Maritime Canada.

We value the time you have taken to share your feedback and thank you for your gracious review of our Supper Club Dinner. We are an establishment where details really do matter so out of fairness to all readers on this site, a number of points need redress. Your dining experience: When we invite or make a dinner reservation for our guests we make it a point of telling them the cost as well as our gratuity policy. However, if we did miss informing you of our automatic gratuity for special dinners I am left with a question: since you stated you found “the meal was excellent “ however there wasn’t a gratuity left on the table nor did you inquire if there was one included in the cost when you were checking out? So I can only conclude you had no intention of giving our staff a gratuity for the attentive service they provided. Had an espresso been included in the price we would have offered one along with the coffee and tea. You also failed to mention the additional 10% discount applied to your room when we added our Stay and Dine package to your reservation. Our Breakfast: We are one of a few Inn’s which serve a made-to-order breakfast restaurant-style experience every morning. We’ve in fact become known for our breakfast service. Offering a whipped yogurt appetizer along with no less than a dozen options ranging from traditional eggs and bacon to 3 different styles of Eggs Benny, French Toast two ways, Pancakes, or some of our more unique creations like our Breakfast Skillet, Huevos Rancheros, or the Eastcoaster. In addition, we offer several gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options. Your Room: You mentioned in another review you posted about The Great George as a wonderful experience, which I totally agree with as I have stayed there myself. They too have wine and water in their rooms for purchase yet you didn’t mention that in your review of their Inn? You also indicated in your review we were “ the worst and most expensive” however The Great George’s deluxe king room is 90.00 more than ours if you are comparing apples to apples. Even if you booked their Classic King, it is still 40.00 more than ours?? Since purchasing the Inn we have made a considerable investment throughout this property. In our seven years as owners, we have undergone several renovations, from our larger projects adding 5 more rooms, increasing our room selection from 9 to 14 rooms, including 2 luxury suites. The covered veranda and new stone entrance with rock gardens were completed in the spring of 2019. The entire Carriage House has been renovated with new cape cod siding and all new windows. Some of our smaller projects include converting several queen rooms to king-size beds, new furniture, and carpeting in several of our rooms, replacing 150 year old windows in the Main House, adding a stone patio in the gardens with outdoor furniture for guests to enjoy. Your room, in particular, has received a new king bedroom set, seating area furniture, and freshly painted walls with a bathroom renovation scheduled for this winter. We take pride in all we’ve accomplished since purchasing the Inn in 2015 but are very aware owning a 150 year old property there are always things needing attention. If I had my wish it would all be done but then reality sets in, there is only so much time or budget available so you have to pick your projects on a yearly basis which we have done even throughout this pandemic. With the rise in the cost of materials, we still have managed to give 2 rooms in the main house a complete makeover as well as a full kitchen renovation with new appliances. . We are quite impressed by the experience our entire team provides our guests every day. “You have such a beautiful property” …. “you have amazing staff” and “your breakfasts are wonderful” are comments heard by our overnight guests both in person and on this site every single day. We’re sorry that somehow you missed that experience. So you will excuse us if we take considerable exception to several comments you’ve made. You can be certain that we understand we still have lots of work to do however I can say with confidence because we are constantly focused on improving we already are an excellent Inn and are amongst the best properties in the area!

A great experience and a great stay for us. This is a converted old house that has been updated, maintained to the highest standards and was very upscale. The owner was very friendly, accommodating, and was very interested in making sure our stay was enjoyable and comfortable. The hot breakfast was terrific and cooked onsite. We arrived a few hours early and were able to park at the Inn and explore the beautiful town of Wolfville while the Inn host got things ready for our stay. There was nothing lacking.

Stayed 2 nights in room 4 (classic queen) which is in the main house. Check-in was easy and straightforward, we were told the new cleaning protocols, given our key, some info about the area and asked what time we'd like breakfast the next day.
Our room had it's own heat pump which was great. The bed was very comfortable with extra pillows in the closet. There was a small sofa in front of the fireplace and tv that I, unfortunately, didn't get to enjoy, but hopefully next time! Bathroom was a good size and very clean, travel sized toiletries were in there as well. There are 2 bottles of wine in the room for purchase if you're interested.
We didn't hear anyone else in the inn while we were in our rooms, but know that it was full.
We opted to add on the wine tour and would definitely recommend it. It's a bit more expensive than some other tours in the area, but I would say worth it because you can leave when the group is ready, which was always less than an hour at each winery. We had lunch (included) at one of the vineyards which was quite good. Randy (owner and tour guide) was great, he shared lots of stories about wine and the area and how he and Erika became inn owners while we drove.
Breakfast was delicious and is cooked by Randy. Each morning we started with a different whipped yogurt that was light and fluffy. The menu is fairly large with a variety of options. My personal favourite was the eggs benedict served on a potato hash bed.
Friends had a picnic packed for them to take out that looked great!
The inn is located about 1km from the downtown, straight, flat road and with nice wide sidewalks.
I've been home for a few hours and already considering a trip back. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Tattingstone to anyone travelling in the area. Next time I might try one of the suites because they looked very cute and had outside seating areas that would have been lovely.

From the moment we arrived at the Inn we knew we were in for a memorable experience. They had just completed their annual Christmas decorating ritual which was a step above anything we have experienced in the past & we are seasoned travelers. The owners Erica & Randy have done a stunning & I must say a meticulous job of restoring this Heritage property. Our receptionist Stephen & the rest of the Inn staff - Erica #2 & Dan were very hospitable & always took a moment from their busy schedule to ask what our plans were for the day & how was our stay going. The Inns' cozy & well-lit breakfast room sets the tone for a memorable breakfast to come & they don't disappoint. Everything is cooked to order & cooked to perfection - well done Randy! Even when it came time to check out both Erica the owner & Erica the staff member took the time to say goodbye & wished us a safe trip home. How happy were we with our stay ? We have already made plans to return in February for Valentines day & the "Eagle Watch" at Sheffield Mills.

We stayed in the Carriage House room 12 and it was simply beautiful! The cleanliness, décor, full bathroom, very comfortable bed, and sitting area (with a large couch), all made for a wonderful stay. A winding walkway takes you to the room and there is a bistro table for your enjoyment just outside your room. In addition, from the Tattingstone Inn it is a short walk to restaurants, pubs, and shopping. Breakfast was fabulous. The Tattingstone Benny was the best eggs benedict I have ever eaten! Loved the potato base! Highly recommend this inn as well for the friendly hosts.

Dear KDMH15, we're thrilled to know we've provided the kind of experience you were looking for, and Randy can always use more affirmation the breakfasts are running on all cylinders! Saying they were the best eggs benny ever eated left him grinning from ear to ear. Thank you for the high praise. Should you return to the Annapolis Valley we do hope youcome stay with us again. Until then, safe travels.

What a lovely stay at the Inn. The main building is a big historic building in Wolfville beautifully renovated. Everyone I came in contact with were so welcoming and kind. I stayed in the carriage house - Toad Hall. It’s a 2 - story building with a living room and TV downstairs along with a mini fridge. The bed and bathroom are upstairs. There is a huge jacuzzi bathtub upstairs. I didn’t use it. Toad Hall is a standalone building g, so it’s very quiet and private. The grounds of the Inn are pretty with a lot of flower gardens as well as container flowers.
Breakfast was in the main building and you chose a seating time. There’s a variety of breakfast items on the menu. I chose the smoked ham and cheese omelette with toast.
Lovely stay.

We (a group of seven ladies) arrived on a wintery Friday evening to our comfy, cozy rooms. The supper club meal that evening was interesting and tasty and the service outstanding. Friendly, efficient and accommodating. Those of us staying in the carriage house made our way through the storm to our rooms, then back across the driveway in the morning for breakfast. Great variety and the whipped yogurt was a very nice surprise. As we were stormed in that day they served us a delicious soup and cornbread for lunch. Yum! We spent lots of time in the parlour chatting, and laughing, with coffee and tea made available to us throughout the day. Back to our rooms for a late afternoon nap, then back to the dining room for the most amazing meals from their new Bistro menu. Cards and games in the dining room til 11 or so, back to our rooms for the final sleep, then over for our final delicious breakfast. Ericka 1 and Ericka 2 were fantastic all weekend long, and Randy coming through with the delicious lunch, plus keeping the steps and parking area clear, made for the most enjoyable stormy weekend. Highly recommend it, and will be back.

Room 10 has a deck and it is shared with Room 11 I think. I know it’s room 10 for sure. We stayed there in August. You can have your own privacy. It’s the only spot you can have your own beverages. Also there are no fridges so you will need to bring a cooler.
Hi We did a wine tour with Grape Escapes. For $99 plus tax CAD, they picked us up in Wolfville. We toured 3 wineries, had a great lunch and a personal guide. My understanding is the Inn also does tours but we did not know this at the time of booking.
There are more places to choose from in the Wolfville area.
