We stayed at Tattingstone Inn and had a wonderful stay!
Great breakfast included, not your typical breakfast, very good coffee.
The atmosphere and furnishings were very pleasant and relaxing.
The service was excellent, we would highly recommend this Inn and planning on returning soon.
The inn is actually adding on to their existing facilities!

For the third time I've been in Wolfville, I have stayed at this beautiful Inn. I use this Inn as an excuse for a get-away, and I've taken daughters-in-law, sister and friend. This Inn is extremely clean, spacious, relatively new (yet matches the old world charm and architecture of the town), and the gourmet breakfasts have been fabulous! The extra wide, grand staircase is a taste of the expansive rooms that await. Pam and Gordon are warm and welcoming hosts, and are accommodating in every way. The hot tub, surrounded by 2 feet of snow, and reading in the sauna added a new dimension to the experience of this trip. I travel occasionally, but have never been a repeat customer anywhere as I have at this B&B.

What started out as a certificate purchase, turned into a wonderful romantic weekend. Who knew this place even was there? I have been to the valley so many times, but has no idea that this B&B even existed. Its close to every thing and yet I still missed it????

Booked 1 night, but should have booked 2, with a breakfast like that, I would have eaten it twice. It definitely was a luxury breakfast.

Sit down in front of the fireplace, served local coffee...yummy!! Had to decide on which of the 4 juices I was going to sip, then out comes this amazing "Maple Pear" I wanted to take a picture it was so pretty, to pretty to eat.

Standing on the plate was a poached maple pear on a bed of yogurt sauce with fresh blackberries. OMG, to die for!

Then out comes the 2nd course, a blueberry French toast frittata with cream sauce in the center and fresh blueberries.. it was something I dreamt about it the whole day after eating it.

The room was clean, spacious, inviting, warm, cozy and just what a relaxing weekend should look like. 2 robes hung in the closet, with 2 plastic wines glasses and some large towels, if you would like to indulge in the outdoor hot tub. Perfect for a long day or cold day like it was this weekend.

The bed was perfect for an afternoon nap, and that’s just what we did. Fluffy feather duvet, with feathered pillows too, white and crisp and oh so comfortable.

Relax, read a book, unwind and let the Townsends welcome you to their B&B. It is apparent the Pam & Gordon love what they do. With only 3 years under their belt as owners, it was hard to tell they hadn't been doing this for years. I am convinced owning this B&B was their calling.. I am really glad that I picked up the phone and made my own call.

Sure they have pets, but they are part of their family and we rarely knew they were there. They only time we spent with Abbot and Fudgey was at breakfast and they didn't bother us at all.. In fact, they added to making us feel welcome.

Do not let this little gem pass you by.. BOOK a night, it will make you want to come back for more. In true B&B style this is exactly where you want to be.... In Wolfville!!

Thank you for a wonderful weekend, in comfortable luxury style.

We visited Nova Scotia for two weeks and enjoyed everyone and everyplace except this inn. First the innkeepers tell you to take your shoes off to walk in their pubic inn. We didn't have socks or slippers and did not like the idea of walking barefoot in a public space. Secondly, we paid for an air conditioned room. The room was the Zen which was stark with no comfortable chairs. The weather was hot and muggy. We turned our air conditioner on and left for dinner. Upon our return we were shocked to find the A/C turned off and a pillow we had put on the floor back n the bed. We didn't enjoy the invasion of our privacy and the hot room we returned to. We put the A/C back on only with the feeling that the innkeeper would return. The next morning, we left without eating the included breakfast because we didn't feel like sitting in a dining room with strangers in bare feet, nor did we care to stay a minute longer at the inn. When we asked the inn keeper if she had any idea what happened to our A/C she admitted she went in and turned it off to save energy. She didn't see anything wrong with it. What other snooping does she do when you are not in your room?
The inn is nice, the couple have no idea how to run an inn. They count out the Keurig coffee for you to use in the common area and have no decaf cups. In the morning the area is very dark where the coffee pot is. Just odd and not friendly. They make you feel like you are invading their privacy in their private home when in fact it is an inn, where they have their own living arrangement.

We have stayed in hundreds of inns and have never felt so uncomfortable.

Room Tip: Choose another B&B. Wolfville is a very nice stop, with many B&B's to choose from.

It's a nice house but lacks quaintness.. here are my thoughts:

1. The house is very new.. very nice but there is an inpersonal touch.

2. We walked in the door.. was greeted by the owner and before we could even walk in to say hello.. was asked to take off our shoes and put on slippers... now.. I do this at home.. but at a B&B?

3. the host barely gave introductions or a tour of the house.. we were asked to fill out the guest form.. again while we were puting on our slippers.. and then whisked up to our room. She showed us the room.. and then said goodbye and we didn't see her again until breakfast the next day (we arrived around 3pm).

4. The house is beautfiul inside.. but has only one common room which is teh dining room. It is setup in such a way that you are afraid to touch anything.. again - it has that antiseptic "don't touch me or move me out of place" feel..

5. Breakfast is really nice.. but again.. almost too formal. Fancy juices, eggs and fruit all nice.. but no friendliness to the host.. Just here you go and bye bye.. back inside her secret doorway to the back unknown..

6. Finally.. while no fault of the owners.. boy.. did the outside absolutely stink of horse manure... we were told that unfortunately we arrived during barn cleaning week.. you couldn't even open a window in the room it was so bad.. the funny thing.. it was just for like a 1/2 mile section of town which the B&B was in. Inquiring in town and they said this happens often.. BEWARE!

7. Checked out... was asked for credit card.. given receipt and then goodbye.. No "where are you off to next?" "Did you have a nice dinner/stay with us?" Nothing... so impersonal..

8. OVERPRICED!!! $150 for the room is just way too much...

Anyway... this place is just ok.. clean certianly but lacking character, the innkeeper is way too unfriendly and formal and she needs to relax the rules a bit in regrads to shoes/slippers... I was afraid to move the chair in the dining because I didn't want to make any noise and/or mar the perfect wood floors..

I'd look elsewhere in town.. which is very quaint and nice. We enjoyed out stay in wolfville.. jsut not at IN Wolfville...

The name suggests that it is ""In Wolfville"" but it is not. In fact the B&B is way to far out of town to enjoy without having a car. So if planning to enjoy one of Wolfville's many restaurants with a drink or two plan on trying to find a hard to find taxi to get home when it is raining or too cold to walk. The B&B is newer and is overall comfortable.

The owners were friendly and helpful, the B&B is in a convenient location and we loved the friendly dogs. But we're not sure that the overall experience was worth the price. We made our reservation based on the B&B's website....hot tub, gourmet breakfast using locally sourced ingredients, bathrobes in the room and so on, While our room (Sea Side) was large and nicely appointed, with a nautical theme, but no view of the sea. Nice bathroom, but sadly no bathrobes. The window mounted air conditioner was too noisy to leave on so we opened the windows on a warm muggy night, only to let in all of the road noise and the noise of other air conditioners below us. The hot tub didn't look as if it had been used for some time and the sign said we could use it at our own risk. The whole exterior of the house looked as though it needed a good pressure washing, It felt a little like we were encroaching on the owners' private space when we went to look at the gardens at the back, where the hot tub was located. Taking our shoes off at the front door meant that we were walking around barefoot as neither of us had slippers and none were provided. Breakfast the next morning was tasty, but small portions and with no offer of additional toast or fruit, we went looking for a bakery on our way to the Bay of Fundy. Locally sourced foods it may have been, but we weren't expecting to see the over-sized E.D. Smith Jam jar on the counter when we checked out.

A beautiful place, but I personally prefer a truly old home with more character. The breakfasts are served at individual tables. They were tasty and nicely presented but consisted only of two small courses so my husband needed a stop for a sandwich an hour later. The dogs were allowed in the dining room and the small one even sat at my feet and begged for food which is something I didn't care for. All in all, I would choose a different B&B the next time I am in Wolfville. For me it lacked a homey feeling.

I was really disappointed with my last stay at the In Wolfville. The first time I stayed here the experience was excellent-professional hosts and a wonderful breakfast. Unfortunately the the new owners are not running it to the same standard. We were greeted by a sloppily dressed man who I picked up on immediately was overbearing. He showed us our room and I felt as though I needed to usher him along his way and leave us alone. Thank goodness they haven't done much to change the rooms because all the changes made to the main house are tacky and take away from the decor left by the original owners (think "precious moments" figurines). My suspicions were confirmed at breakfast. We were the only guests and the hosts served us breakfast and proceeded to stand over us while we ate (the man was dressed in a football t-shirt) and allowed their dog to beg at the foot of our table. They babbled on about nothing interesting and didn't seem to get the hint that we hadn't come on this trip (and specifically booked at a B&B with individual tables) so we could visit with them. It is nice when people are friendly but these owners need to learn to clue in when to but out. I don't know where to start with breakfast. It was absolutely horrible. A dried out piece of toast with a over baked egg and cheese plopped into the middle...dried out and completely unsatisfactory. The worst was having to hear him describe how he made it in minute detail and how oh so proud he was. I could have whipped up something better at home in 10 minutes. Oh how I missed the breakfast from my last visit. Even if it had been good, it was not nearly enough food but the hosts were way more interested in taking about running the B&B and asking prying questions, than making sure we were satisfied. Even as I was walking out the door the endless questions continued. BEWARE...these are exactly the type of owners that make people avoid Bed and Breakfasts. They need to get a clue and gain some class but as this is unlikely, I'll book elsewhere on my next trip to Wolfville.

Our experience was similar to "One night was enough." The breakfast was tasty. The hosts were pleasant. Our twin room was nice enough, though the AC was loud (and it was so hot we needed it on). We didn't have time to make use of amenites such as the hot tub. I would likely go back but I did find it expensive (almost 2x $) in comparison to our favourite B&B on that trip near Amherst. It was a nice B&B for sure, maybe not a luxury B&B as is advertised.
