Detailed Reviews
This is my first stay at Celtic Charm B&B and my second stay in Sydney NS. I come here to work with my former PhD student who is now an assistant professor of finance at the Shannon School at Cape Breton University. We are working on a major paper that we are about to submit to the top journal in finance.
Celtic Charm was my home away from home for a week. It's a lovely old house, well kept and well run by Chris and Lisa. They accommodated my request to change rooms when I found my original room too noisy from road noise. They also accommodated my taste in food (I always eat the same breakfast with no variation).
The only two things I would change: eggs MUST be free range/organic NOT battery eggs where chickens at maltreated and fed soy and corn. I WANT to eat the eggs of chickens that feed in pastures the natural way. I saw these eggs at the Sydney Farmers' Market. Yogurt for me must be organic, plain with no sugar made from the milk of pasture fed cows.

This stay was amazing! It was the first bed and breakfast I have stayed in and I was blown away by everything. I am gluten intolerant and the breakfast that was provided was able to be made gluten free. It was easy to find and centrally located so it was just a short walk to the boardwalk 10/10

The house is very well restored with original woodwork; a beautiful property. Our room was gleaming and very comfortable. I really enjoyed the jetted tub and the homecooked breakfast was above and beyond. Lots of attention to detail and the owners take great pride in their business. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

My husband and I make a habit of heading off for a B&B weekend in Nova Scotia every few months to decompress from work. We've been to plenty of B&Bs, but this one really impressed us. Even more so because we're in the middle of a pandemic. Every little added touch was incredible. The coffee and tea bar in the dining room, with delicious desserts out for the taking were so lovely. The décor makes the house really feel like home, and the hosts are just the kindest people. Our room had everything we could need, was super cozy, and brunch was really phenomenal and delish. Cannot recommend this cozy B&B enough!

What a lovely spot to explore Sydney and the area. Good distance - able to walk to downtown, or a short drive, with free parking at the B&B. The hosts are very thoughtful - from homemade shortbread cookies in the room upon arrival, tea/coffee/water available throughout the day with snacks, to their accommodations for our gluten free diet - everything was fantastic.

We stayed for 1 night in the Cabot Room in this beautiful home. Room was very clean - bathroom floor shined. Large bathroom with great water pressure in shower and deep soaking tub. Bed was very firm. Hosts are super friendly! Fully stocked coffee bar with sweet treats and some cold drink available anytime in breakfast room. Breakfast was delicious. Short walk to the big fiddle, boardwalk and a few restaurants (Governor's Pub and Eatery and Flavour on the Water.) Would return to this property if we are ever in Sydney NS again.

This is a beautiful B&B located a few minutes’ walk to the harbour and cruise port in Sydney. The house features antique furniture and beautiful stained glass windows. Our room was comfortable, clean and well-appointed. There was an air conditioner but we found it a bit noisy. The breakfast room was available anytime for coffee/tea and homemade sweets. Breakfast was elaborate and delicious. We really enjoyed sampling the “white pudding.” We were able to park our car on the street, directly in front of the B&B.

Great location, only a short walk to downtown. We had a smooth check in and enjoyed our stay. Lovely room, clean and very comfortable. Quiet. Breakfast was great too! And our host answered all our questions and made sure we had everything we needed.

Stayed at the Celtic Charm B&B for one night while in Sydney and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was very nice and had all required amenities. The hosts were very helpful and friendly and put on a great breakfast. As we were the only people staying that night, I think we got spoiled a bit although they probably do that for everyone. The location is great, about a 5 minute walk to the waterfront, shopping, restaurants etc. I would recommend staying here and would definitely return when near Sydney
