We booked a suite for four adults because it was the only room available on short notice. We were a party of three, two adults and one youth so we wanted two beds. It was not clean, the carpets were filthy, tables dusty, railing missing from the stairway, which I am sure is a safety hazard. The towel rake fell off the wall when I when to use the towel. Not at all maintained. What really surprised me was the breakfast which is advertised as being included with the room. It was a buffet breakfast. There were scrambled eggs, with a note that said "two scoops only" the ham also had a note that said "two slices only" and they were very small slices. But as we were putting food on our plate we were told the breakfast was only for two people per room and we would have to pay $16 for a third person. Seriously at almost $400 a night for a suite and they wanted us to pay for a third person. We did not get a third breakfast but went to Tim Horton's down the road.

My husband and I were travelling to Newfoundland late July with my elderly aunt. I booked the family suite at Harborview inns and suites so my aunt could have her own room but it was connected to us in case she needed us. I spent extra money to get this booking. On the morning of our booking as I was trying to get everything packed and on the road I received a phone call from the hotel saying that they had overbooked and could not honour my reservation. I went back-and-forth with them because I had booked us two months prior. I asked to speak to the manager and when I did he told me that they had had a flood. Already I’m questioning things because I’m receiving two stories. Long story short I ended up getting a room that had a queen and a double bed, which was not optimal at all with my aunt‘s medical equipment, and was a short I would have three included breakfast as before. As we were driving down the highway I received an email stating that booking.com had cancelled my booking. I quickly found a hotel and checked and the girl said yes we were booked in to come that evening and not to worry about the Booking.com cancellation it was just that they could not alter the cancellation in their program and I would pay when I got there. Five hours later I arrive at the hotel and they do not have a room for us. I had to quickly find something and it was a terrible terrible night having to listen to my aunts medical equipment all night. It was also very uncomfortable sleeping with my husband in a bed right next to her. We also had to then fork out money for breakfast. Never book at this hotel. I believe they saw that we were three people and then I had got it for a very good price and decided they could bump us and rent it to a larger family at a much much higher price. I wouldn’t trust them to do any booking ever again.

We were very disappointed with our room. It was a last minute reservation on our anniversary get-away but the photos looked promising. We booked a harbour view room, but we did not expect our harbour view to be through 2 sets of windows, our room and the hallway window; so we could not leave our curtains open to enjoy the view because it was a walk way for everyone. The room had very poor DIY reno's; the bathroom plug was above the mirror so hard to reach for a short person like me. Around the fire sprinkler was an unfinished hole. The pillow cases were so thin you could see the pattern on the pillow through them. We took the pillow cases off the other bed to double up and the pillows we took them off of were stained. I am not a germaphobe, but that made me cringe. There were long black hairs on the floor and on one of our towels. The tub could use a good scrub too. The bathroom vanity was just painted plywood. The sink must be original cast iron because there were rusting chips all over it. Breakfast was included; in a large paper bag you get a juice box, yogurt and muffin. Then there is cold cereal, toast, coffee and juice on a table. It's a typical continental breakfast but strange to have part in a bag and part as self serve. We would NOT stay here again or recommend to anyone we know. Front desk staff was friendly and it's a good location but otherwise....

While visiting Nova Scotia in July /22 we stayed in 6 different places across the province .. this one by far was the worst one and did not justify the price! Rooms were old and outdated ( they look nothing like some of the management photos posted)
I’m not hard to please , and didn’t expect a palace by know means . But simple things like Moldy bathtubs and filthy light fixtures are not acceptable! Bed was not comfortable at all and room didn’t smell very good at all , but they tried to mask the smell with a plug in deodorizer. Also wifi would not work in the rooms it was weak and kept dropping .

The breakfast was made to order which would have been great but it took forever . I think they were short staffed . I gave a 2 star based on they were pleasant to deal with and the view was pretty good. Also as someone else stated ,,, why take a copy of Id ? Never had that happen anywhere and I’m not even sure if that’s legal ! Bottom line is unless you get an amazing price ( like $60 a night or less) find a different hotel.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I travel for work a lot and often stay in work camps that are nicer than this. It is dirty, run down, old, poorly maintained, smells bad and just kind of thrown together in general. The rooms look like they were finished by a bad DIYer. Cheap bedding and mattresses. Single ply toilet paper ( I went and bought actual toilet paper for my stay). Only two bath towels in the room. No face clothes. No hand towels. No soap. Towel bar half pulled out of wall. Obvious poorly done patch job where the towel bar used to be and must have been torn out of the wall. All the furniture feels like it is either from some IKEA knock off outlet or a garage sale. I would never have my family stay here and I will never stay here myself again. Prices are lower than some of the better known chain hotels but it is still over priced. Avoid at all costs. You will regret staying here. I am. I guess there has to be some upside. It seems they recently replaced all the light fixture with new modern fixtures which are nice but totally out of place. Also the water pressure was good. That is all.

The price is not justified.

$166 plus tax for a room that definitely is not “Deluxe”. Its highly outdated, stains all over the walls, tv remote didn’t work, carpets on stairs old and badly stained ( smelled bad too). Outlets in room don’t work or don’t have a cover. Washroom was not properly cleaned. We couldn’t get any sleep because the walls are so thin that I could hear every word from our neighbours until 3am in the morning. Curtains don’t do anything to keep light out.

I feel bad for the girl running the restaurant by herself. Server, bar tender, cook and probably clean up in one person. She was a trooper but we felt bad for her.

The weirdest thing tho is that they take a copy of your ID and keep it on file. I don’t think that is right and should be looked into. I asked the lady from the reception to destroy that copy but doubt it was done. Seems sketchy.

Its pretty sad because this could be a prime hotel with that location. The management should look into renovations. Some fresh paint and upgrades would go a long way.

Breakfast was complementary but we had enough and checked out early and skipped it.

We booked for three nights initially from July 20-23. Stayed in room 218 first night and it was horrible. Room smells, bedding may be clean but is stained and extremely uncomfortable beds. The bathroom was not clean, pink mold all around tub and tub itself black (?not clean vs very old), flies and ++ dust on fan and door handle fell off in the middle of the night. The wifi doesn’t work. We talked with staff the next morning and they moved us to a “renovated room” 210 which really was not much better. The beds were so uncomfortable and noisy that every movement woke the whole family up. We travel often and have reasonable expectations - clean room and comfortable beds- this by far has been the worst place we’ve ever stayed at. Location would be nice but do not make up for the accommodations. Please note staff are also pleasant. Pay the extra $ and book elsewhere. They have a no refund policy but it was so bad we left a day early and went elsewhere. On their website it says they are renovating rooms but there is no evidence of any ongoing construction.

Super sketchy. Room is half cleaned. Stained sheets (clean I think but you can see an old blood stain), black mould spots and pink unclean shower curtain, mouldy caulking in the bathroom, the fan in the bathroom does not work, thin walls, beds are over-firm and not comfortable, no bedside tables, the furniture they do have is super old, no alarm clock, smells like an old house in the room, had breakfast at the restaurant downstairs and the fruit tasted old and about to mould, the only pros: friendly front desk lady and the breakfast restaurant server makes a great cup of tea.

Highly do not recommend, I will never be back. Pay the extra $30 and stay at the holiday in that’s right on the port.

Apology for the inconvenience, and for the bad experience , each day we are trying to make this property a better place, as it;s under new ownership, we are working on the renovations, The guest stayed at the property for continuous 2 nights, you should have complained it to the front desk , they might have make some great gesture arrangements for you. Again apology. And thank you for your business.
