During a Cape Breton tour, my three sisters and I stayed at this wonderful B&B. The experience left us feeling refreshed and renewed. The interior was immaculate, gorgeously decorated -- and the exterior featured a charming garden (no wonder the gardener is weary!). The bedrooms were decor-magazine worthy. Within walking distance of all the spots along the Sydney Waterfront Boardwalk. Vincent made us a delicious breakfast, and then sat and chatted with us. True Nova Scotia hospitality in elegant, but cozy surroundings. I look forward to returning one day.

Like a former reviewer, we too have stayed at many B&Bs and this one is outstanding! It starts with the great location on a quiet street close to a beautiful park and within easy walking distance to restaurants and The Big Fiddle. The grounds are lovely - The B&B is well-named. It must take a great deal of work to maintain the charming gardens. The room was spotlessly clean and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. There is also a cosy sitting area for guests on the second floor as well as a small balcony where we sat with a glass of wine and watched the world go by. The house is impeccably decorated and the breakfasts were delicious. Best of all was our host, Vince, who was warm, friendly, helpful and gracious. I wish we had booked for longer than 2 days. Thank you Vince, for a wonderful time!

While waiting for the water in the Keurig to heat up so that I could have a pre-bedtime decaf I noticed on the bookshelf in the sitting room a selection that was entitled Fine Art. That title described for me all the aspects of this B and B. The decor and appointments were well thought out and the furniture fit the motif. There was a relaxed comfort in the home and it was clear the the proprietor had recently completed a thorough renovation of the "public" portion of the home as a B and B. The whole scheme comes together exceedingly well.

We were encouraged to use the home as our "home away from home" and, in contrast to some B and B's where you were expected to be away from the home during the bulk of the day, these landlords opened their home for your use throughout the day.

The recent renovations and new furnishings made the bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms clean, crisp and comfortable. The breakfasts were tasty and thoughtfully prepared in a setting that was classy with a mood set by very quietly playing classical music. On the one occasion where we needed to be out before 7:00 AM, muffins and a variety of cheeses were left next to the coffee machine to take with us.

The pricing for the stay was very reasonable, to the extent that we felt we received exceptional value for the cost. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone wanting accomodation in the Sydney area of Cape Breton. All Cape Breton communities and attactions were within a resonable distance from this location and the waterfront and mainstreet were within a 10 miniute walk.

I chose this B&B after looking through websites of all other B&Bs in Nova Scotia. This one is close to the Cabot Trail. With a name like The Weary Gardener, how could we not go? There is indeed a lovely back garden. The proprietors gave us a tour of the garden and knew the names of each and every perennial. Breakfast, it was good. A great experience, boutique B&B, nicely appointed. Proprietors were so helpful and unassuming. Didn't even want to take our credit card info until we checked out. We brought our bicycles and rode throughout the area. Discovered the harbor where the cruise ships dock with an enormous (12 tons?) fiddle welcoming everyone by playing a lengthy and varied fiddle tune. Great restaurants nearby. This was a great value and lovely, as well.

Would highly recommend staying here as Vince is very friendly and welcoming. Excellent breakfast and nothing was too much trouble for Vince. Good location in quiet street with off road parking. Very comfortable bed and there is a lounge with fridge and coffee machine etc. a lovely stay, thanks Vince and if in that area again we would definitely return. We recommend anti-clockwise round the Cabot Trail and eat at Le Gabriel, best seafood since our stay in USA & Canada so far, try the Fisherman's Plate - wow!

My husband and best friend and I booked both rooms for two nights in August 2014 and had the most lovely of stays. Vincent could not have been more hospitable and accommodating, we felt at home instantly. The lovely common area upstairs was our privately as we booked both rooms and it was a great place to relax and chat after a day of site-seeing. The rooms have been renovated to look as though they should be featured in the next issue of House and Home Magazine, they are luxurious, opulent and very tasteful. A great place to come back to after a big day. Vincent chatted with us every morning giving us lots of great tips and advice on what we should see and do while providing us with a delicious homemade breakfast and catered to us being that we are all vegetarian. If you are looking for a lovely stay, look no further. PS the price is more than reasonable for the level of stay you receive, Thank you Vincent!

Having now read the other reviews about this wonderful, warm and comfy B&B and after sending Vince a small gift of appreciation, I'm at a loss to add my thoughts it would be repeating what others are saying. If I had any criticism it would be a reminder for me to take my own bar of soap. All the amenities are liquid, body, shampoo and conditioner. We found that is the case in all the places we stayed whilst in N.S. both B&B's and Hotels. Call me old fashioned but that is also why we loved our stay . The decor is classy chic. Would we stay there again ? Absolutely.
