Nice staff, lovely pool, great breakfast (need bacon more often), comfortable beds and pillows. The bathroom has been well thought out with body wash, lotion, conditioner, hair dryer and almost instantaneous hot water. We thoroughly enjoyed the Holiday Inn and will certainly rebook it the next time we are in Dartmouth.

The Hotel is beautiful.
We came at the time of Covid and they put acrylic on the desk, gel and the credit card machine available for guests to pay. All employees wear a mask. The use of a mask is mandatory.

The room is beautiful, we ordered the king bed (very comfortable) and had a beautiful settee with a lamp next to the window.
The shutter has an excellent black-out system, the room is dark as if it were night.
In the bathroom box there are 3 beautiful fixed packages of shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. I was impressed with the modern idea and mainly because the quality natural products are without additives, ... wow! My hair was soft and hydrated without getting goosebumps! Congratulations for the initiative!
I will definitely become a J.R.Watkins brand customer! Congratulations on the excellent quality!

My husband asked for a room with a view and unfortunately they gave us downstairs behind! I was disappointed.

The Hotel serves breakfast and at this time they have bags prepared with juice, apple, cereal bar and a hot sandwich (I just didn't like the meat and I didn't have bacon). It has coffee and teas.
It has a Gym room and pool and now with Covid I think you have to make an appointment to use it.
The Hotel offers parking.

We recently stayed at this probably as a little get away with the Atlantic Bubble opening up. As soon as we walked in we could see that it was following the IHG clean promise. Partitions up for social distancing, agent wearing a mask, bin for used room keys and even the evening crew sanitizing the lobby! Nicole checked us in and she was an absolute gem. She worked both nights we were there and she was so wonderful. Super friendly and easy to chat with. The rooms were lovely.. spacious, modern and very clean. Although it may seem a little off of the beaten track, it’s actually extremely close to everything and we didn’t mind paying cab fares since the parking at the hotel was free and we didn’t have to worry about that extra expense! We went into Halifax the first night for dinner and it was only a $20 dollar cab to younge st. The second night we ate in downtown Dartmouth which was about a $15 cab and then we got the ferry over to Halifax which was only two minutes but so fun nonetheless. The hotel is barely five minutes away from Dartmouth Crossing and IKEA. It really was just a perfect location!
Thank you Nicole and other staff who made our stay so wonderful. We will definitely be back :)

Decided to take a mini vacation with the family before a second wave comes. Dartmouth crossing area has been our go to spot for quite a few years now and we normally have a great experience at another local chain hotel. When we saw that there was now a Holiday Inn with a pool, slide and splash pad we were thrilled. We’ve always loved the Holiday Inn hotels and their comfy beds but there was never one in our preferred area until now. We checked in without issue and got our belongings upstairs. Upon inspection of the room there were crumbs in the AC/Heating unit, a large number of crumbs under the chair and multiple crumbs on the floor. Since you have to request house keeping services during this time I mentioned the issues to the front desk when requesting service for the next day. She apologized and I figured it would be addressed during housekeeping the next day. We left the hotel to do a few activities around 1pm the next day and at that time there had been no knock from housekeeping. We mentioned it to the front desk and she explained we had to request services the day before. We advised that we had and she confirmed that it was noted on the file. We also mentioned at the time to the front desk that one of our two rooms that the deadbolt was not locking. Maintenance or housekeeping overheard and said she would check it as she was going up anyways. Thought great the room would be cleaned and the lock issue would be resolved when we returned. We got back to the hotel around 6 and proceeded to our room. We checked the lock and it still wasn’t working. Housekeeping had been in but the crumbs were still in the AC vent, chair and I had picked up the ones on the floor. The beds were thrown together at best and towels barely folded and left on the vanities in both rooms. We straightened up the beds to our satisfaction and checked out the next day. Mentioned our issues again at the front desk during check out and an apology was given and that it would be addressed with the staff. Something we didn’t mention but I feel should be brought up is the shelf the microwaves were on was also dusty as well as the recyclable bin could’ve used a wipe down in one of the two rooms. During a time when cleanliness should be at an all time high it was missing the mark and we’ve seen better during more relaxed times from cheaper hotels. In all our years staying in hotels I’ve never commented about cleanliness or felt I should’ve brought my own duster, wipes and vacuum. My father growing up was avid about staying at Holiday Inn and as my family has grown over the last 10 plus years we’ve always tried to stay at the chain when available and meeting our needs. After this recent experience we will very likely look at places to stay elsewhere.

From the minute I walked in this hotel I was sold. I work in Burnside and this hotel is close to everything including Dartmouth Crossing. The breakfast in the morning is exactly what I need. Lots of fresh items including pastries and fruit. I went into the pool and the gym area and it looks amazing but I haven't used it. Plenty of parking all around the building.

The best part about this hotel is the staff. Right from the person who check me in to the person cleaning my room and the breakfast attendant everyone was amazing and had a smile on her face. This is my new hotel in Dartmouth.

We went over March break and the hotel was very busy. Amazing pool and splash pad area, best one in Halifax! In the evening they should have had an attendant in the pool as it was way too insane, over capacity, and kids running everywhere. Other times we went it was normal and super fun though!

Room was beautiful and clean. Everything in great condition. I found the mattress to be quite hard but I imagine that’s personal preference. We had a boys youth hockey team on our floor and I was dreading the noise but the rooms were surprisingly sound proof!

The breakfast was delicious and lots of options, again, due to March break they were bombarded with people and the breakfast could not keep up with demand. Had to wait 10 minutes for eggs as they ran out, 10 minutes in line to make pancakes. Cinnamon buns and muffins weren’t restocked for 20 minutes. Milk ran out 3 times while I was waiting for different things. An easy fix is a larger milk pitcher or a couple of pitchers at once for cereal. Lots of kids and the one small pitcher fills like 5 bowls.

All in all an amazing stay and we will be back, maybe we won’t go during March break next time so it will be less chaotic.

We stayed for a March Break getaway. The TV in the room didn't work, the chlorine in the pool was so strong it stayed on our clothes (those of us who just watched and didn't swim) and when we checked out, I was told that the payment they already took from me was just a holding fee, and I would need to pay for the room on top of that, and hopefully the holding fee would be back on my card in a few bushiness days. I was not told about this holding fee when I booked the room, nor when I checked in. Still don't have the refund. The manage was absolutely no help, and had no sympathy, and I was told it was my fault for using the type of card I did.

The place may be newer, but the room we were given was in no way clean or nice.

We arrived at 4pm, check in is at 3, we were told our room still wasn’t ready, and at most we would have to wait is 5-10 minutes, approximately 45 minutes later we were given a room with peeling wallpaper cracks in the ceiling, a bathroom fan so dusty and shower that had mould on the bottom (the front desk agent said we had to wait because we were being given their “best room”)

If he had of been honest about the wait, we would’ve went somewhere instead of waiting. Considering 10-12 groups checked in with no issues or wait, while we were waiting.

I then went to the front desk around 6:45 as I had wanted to charge something from the market to our room, waited 10 minutes with no one appearing and left my item and returned back and ordered from a delivery service.

As diamond elite hig members, we tried to handle this privately but the management team at the hotel doesn’t respond to emails or return calls, we travel on average 100 nights per year for business and we won’t be using this Holiday Inn again.

So if your a HIG member and dare try to use some of your points during a stay, beware this place treats you like second rate citizens, even though you spend thousands of dollars a year at their hotel chain, & their management team refuses to acknowledge you.

We stayed at this hotel for the first time in October 2020. It has been a family favorite ever since! The hotel is clean and modern, staff is friendly and the amenities are endless.

Our favorite part is the pool for our 5 year old. Perfect set up for kids as they can play forever on the “jungle-gym” set up with a slide to boot! Parents can relax in the pool knowing their children are safe in less than ankle deep water.

Complimentary breakfast is delicious and even during the height of the pandemic they were still offering bagged breakfast with yummy sandwiches.

Elevators are “locked” in a sense you can only access the floor you’re staying on. Helps you to feel safe and secure.

The hotel is also tucked away on a quiet road but less than 2 minutes drive to Dartmouth Crossing.

We’ve stayed 4 or 5 times since our first time and we can’t wait to return in March! My 5 year old can’t wait to swim at her fav spot!

A nearly perfect experience.
My second time here...
The reception was great and I was able to check in online.
Overall the room was well prepped (except for the chippy crumbs in the chaise) The bathroom was huge with a shower head at tall adult height.
The exercise room was more than adequate, and they even had 24 hour coffee with a choice of regular and decaf, milk, cream and even oat milk

This time the breakfast was just okay. Limited selection. No hot oatmeal, the pancake maker needed a refill, no potato option and just one sad looking cinnamon bun under the lights. The mini western omelettes looked dried out and overcooked. However, they did have boiled eggs, 2 kinds of sausage, yogurt, fruit and lots of choices to toast.
Certainly not deal breakers but with other parts of the stay at such a high standard this stuck out. Might have been timing.

Would recommend this hotel and give the breakfast a second chance.
