I recently came here with a friend for 1 night. We tented on an un-serviced site. The site was small and very open. Luckily we went on a weekend where there were very few families there, so there was no one on either side of our site. The trails and lake are beautiful, but the campground is nothing special. We...

We stayed 2 nights while we explored Halifax. A little out of town - but as we were in no hurry the trip into downtown Halifax was fun (bus and ferry). The staff were excellent - really helpful in getting us set up with our three way pitch. And the site was nice, clean and friendly

I was on a motorcyle/camping trip and this was the only place near my route that workded with my timing and while there's nothing to complain about with it, it was far from being a nice tent camping place. It was all VERY open and exposed and seemed much more geared to trailers and motorhomes. The washrooms and showers were...

Easy access from highway from Truro and located within 10 to 15 minutes from the sites of Halifax this was a great spot with large level grassy sites which included fire pits and tables. There are clean bathrooms, laundry and playground. No pool but there is a beach within a five minute walk. The staff are extremely helpful with info...

My husband stayed in Shubie Campground for the week he was taking a course in Dartmouth. Since he had loads of studying to do in the evening Shubie was the best choice as opposed to a hotel room. The people in the camp office were very helpful in directing him into the site and in the morning before he left...

Great place within a treed park, we loved it! The spots are a little close, but the campground comes with so many other perks, it didn't matter to us. A heaven for dog owners/dogs and shoppers. Within walking distance are a lot of trails, many dedicated off-leash, and even a dog beach. Not to confuse with the kid's beach that...

Lovely area, the canal is a great area to visit. Did you know that you can travel 112 km from Banook Lake, thru the canal, several lakes and the Shubenacadia River to the Bay of Fundy. A three day canoe trip.

This review is for the free public beach and the trails. Right in Dartmouth not known to many people is this hidden gem of a free public beach with lifeguards to boot. Water is clear. The beach is small but in great shape. The trails that go all around the campgrounds offer hiking, canoeing opportunities. Bring a bag of peanuts...

Seriously... We are camping in the "rally area". Uneven ground, 500m walk to showers and toilets, the park only has an uncontrolled dump station that is the favorite of the locals, and the "campsites" are on either side of the main road to the local ball diamond. No internet at all, no security at night. Avoid. We would leave if...

I am sorry you didn't enjoy your camping experience with us. We are an "urban campground" at the edge of a city park with lots of green space, access to a lake and full wifi and security. I am sorry it did not meet your expectations. I am happy to read that you found the staff friendly. Thank you for...

We have stayed at Shubie at least once a summer for the past number of years and it continues to be our favourite family spot! Our kids love to bike around and swim at the life guarded lake just a walk down the hill. Ice cream and fries always hit the spot from the canteen, and of course s'mores around...
