My husband and I visited June 18-20, 2020, just when the province was opening up again after COVID. We had Digby almost to ourselves and this hotel made it a truly amazing experience. Upon check-in, I was asked if I was visiting for anything special. I explained that we were supposed to be in Ireland to celebrate two 60th birthdays and our 38th anniversary, but were restricted to travelling within Nova Scotia, so we chose Digby. The owner was at the desk and gave us a free upgrade to a truly beautiful suite (Room 44) in the newer part of the hotel.

I can't say enough about the quality of everything in this room. The decor was spectacular (and the suites were actually designed by the owner, who has impeccable taste). The view of the largest scallop fleet in the world enhanced the experience. Our beautiful room overlooked the boardwalk and we sat on the quiet patio each night, watching the boats come and go and the people walk by on two lovely evenings. We were greeted each day by a sunrise that can't be beat, overlooking the dock and all the boats. I've never seen anything like it.

The Fundy Restaurant and the Dockside Restaurant are also owned by the same person. We ate at both and found the quality and taste of the food to be spectacular and the prices very reasonable for what is served.

The check-in experience was wonderful. Friendly staff and owner all around, following new health protocols above and beyond what is expected. We felt very safe and relaxed the entire visit, even during these times.

Bathroom has a rain shower head and a wall fireplace that shot out enough warmth to make you feel cozy after a very hot shower. Water pressure is great, two sinks in the bathroom made getting ready easy for two people.

The bed was super comfortable and clean. Five soft pillows and quality bed linens, along with a lovely settee at the foot of the bed. The room also had a small sectional which I assume converts to a sofa bed, and a very nice leather chair in the corner. A large 4K TV sits above a cozy, warm modern fireplace.

Surrounding area was quiet and we walked the streets and the dock each day. I'm assuming it's usually busier in the summertime but it was so nice to have the quiet time.

If ever I return to Digby, I'll definitely choose Dockside Suites again. I have literally nothing negative to say about my experience. It was truly lovely and I can't imagine that Ireland would be any better at all.

Side note: If you're looking for a little trip offsite, I recommend Smuggler's Cove, about 50 minutes west on highway 1. Lovely spot, stairs to a beach, beautiful views, and a cave I would have loved to explore but was happy to get pictures of instead.

After our first of a two night stay, I am beyond impressed by this facility. We chose what they classify as Suite D, it's a 2 level King suite with Kitchenette & balcony. It has everything you could need at a very reasonable price. Finishes in the upper bedroom and bathroom feel 5 star, but very budget friendly. The kichenette is adequately equipped with flatware, cookware, coffee maker, toaster etc., which was super handy to us, we made our own breakfast during the stay.

The location of Dockside Suites is ideal, centrally located on the main strip and along the waterfront of downtown Digby. The view from the room is breathtaking, very East coast with an immediate proximity to the world famous Digby Wharf. PRO TIP: If the weather allows, leave the window open at night, the sound of the water, breeze, birds & boat activity provide just a calming & peaceful soundtrack for a relaxing sleep.

Conveniently located within the complex, is a great dining option, The Fundy Restaurant (separate review coming), on the main floor.

The front desk staff are super friendly and very helpful. I appreciate when they take the time to walk you through the unit and explain some of the amenities. I should also mention that during these unique times, all safety measures related to COVID-19 are being practiced by all staff throughout the facility.

I am told that as tourist season ramps up, this facility can get busy and the nightlife sounds may not be ideal for all. During what I would consider a shoulder season visit, the town was quiet but has enough facilities open to make our stay perfect. I encourage you to read other reviews that mirror your intended date for travel.

I would definitely recommend Dockside Suites to anybody travelling to Digby, it's amazing value for dollar.

When you first drive up to the building, you really don't expect the type of accommodations you will walk into. The front looks like a typical restaurant and nightclub on the Main Street of a small Maritime town. When the front desk person opens the door to the room, WOW. A very nicely appointed room with all modern lighting and decor. The view is stunning overlooking a nice working wharf. Great sunsets and sunrises on the private deck. One truly could not ask for anything more.

We read reviews about noise from the nightclub, but we did not hear any noise during our stay. We stayed in suite L. As for cleanliness, the place was spotless.

If you stay there, you really should try their restaurant. The chef does great seafood dishes with nice presentation. If you dine in the lower restaurant the prices are better with the same kitchen preparing the meal. I had the pan fried haddock with house vegetables. Amazing...

After a year of covid rules we decided to take a weekend staycation just to get away for a few days. We booked Suit J at dockside suites on its web site. We arrived with positives vibes for a great weekend. The room was clean and really nice with a partial view of the dock with boats tied up although prior to booking, a photo on the website indicated a full view. The room decor was very nice and did not disappoint, the only reason i indicated a level 3 rating. I woke early on Saturday morning as I do every day. The attached restaurant i was told does not open until 11:30AM. Leaving the room while my wife slept longer, I found a place serving hot breakfast a short drive away. I arrived back to the rom at aprox 9:30 AM to find there was both a washer and a dryer just outside our room door in operation. We had not noticed this on check in because these were hidden in what looks' like a closet just in the short hall outside our room door. The noise had waken my wife who had need the extra sleep on a Saturday morning staycation day.. We left our room about 1030AM to visit an area had planed. Upon returning about 4 Pm to our room for a rest period before dinner, this dryer and Washer were still in operation. I complained to staff, who answered without any concern for our comfort it would stop in abut an hour. Apparently this the washer and dryer was used for the whole complex and was in use all day long. We planned to have dinner at the attached Fundy restaurant. The meal we ordered was terrible because we believe we were lied to by staff who assured us the Halibut was fresh that day. Upon serving to noticed the fish was not fresh at all and now i think about it I am not sure it was even halibut. We defiantly would not eat at this restaurant again. We will not stay here again

My wife and I stayed here for a night while enjoying a weekend visit to Southern Nova Scotia. The room was fantastic and the view from the 2nd floor balcony overlooking the harbour was beautiful. We stayed in a one room suite which had a lot of room, very modern furniture and appliances, two fireplaces (one in the bathroom), a walk in shower, a super comfy king size bed,a great couch, nice deck chairs, etc, etc, etc. All in all, this would be my first recommendation of places to stay when in this area. The related resultant is also excellent and reasonable priced (and they know how to cook fish properly, I.e. not overcooked!).

Stayed for 3 nights. Was taken aback by the beautiful room and the view. Bed, linens, casual seating, bathroom and TV as good as they look in the pictures. Booked a street level suite to accommodate mobility concerns so was expecting a street level view. Was more than pleasantly surprised with the balcony view of the harbour. No obstructions. Great view of the harbour and the tides coming in and out. Other than a really nice bar fridge and a couple of glasses, the kitchenette was not equipped with the basics which was disappointing. However, a microwave and dishes/cutlery were provided on request. The front desk provided us with ice on request. Housekeeping was missed one day but this may have been due to a miscommunication with the staff. Just ask for what you need, they are very responsive and polite. Suggest you leave your "Please clean the room" card on the door handle if you start your day late.

Had the best lobster mac'n cheese ever in the adjoining Fundy Restaurant.

We stayed here 2 nights. Saturday and Sunday. The room was amazing with a view of the harbour. This is the best bed I have ever slept on. The only down fall is room is located above the bar dining room so we heard tables and chairs moving around until about midnight Saturday. Sunday morning was nice and quiet so we slept in. Monday morning before eight am the music was pumping with heavy bass. If your an early riser don’t let it sway you. The room is brand new with a small outer deck that you can watch the boats or the bay. Great stay and would stay here again.

The Dockside Suites more than satisfied our needs. Our Suite J had a kitchenette, large walk in shower, 2 electric fireplaces, a semi private deck with a water view and the king bed surpassed ours at home!
Check in is in the Fundy Restaurant which is part of the Complex. We met two outstanding charming people, Channel and Maddy. Channel showed us a suite that suited our needs. J is at street level but the deck is elevated in the back, perfect for my mobility issues.
Our comfort level escalated when I realized I wasn't doing my usual cleaning of high touch spots (even before COVID, I did this). The suite was that clean! Kudos to housekeeping! 🙂
We dined 3 times in The Fundy.
Our dinners were excellent and the one breakfast more than we expected. Great kitchen staff! Excellent service from Yvette, Linda and Kym. Personalities are important in hospitality and all 3 of these gals surpassed the expectations. There was another young gal who served us drinks on the deck (Club 98) who was very sweet and unassuming. Didn't get her name.
Overall, our mini vacay at the Dockside Suites enabled us to explore the area like tourists even though we never left our province. I must say when I saw a tall gentleman one evening with a broom and dustpan cleaning up after a family had dined, I mused he had to be the owner! He was! Only a truly conscientious owner cares enough to assist his busy staff when needed. He was also very warm in his greeting to us earlier.
The Suites are as advertised so be confident in that.
This was our first getaway since the lockdowns began last year and we are grateful for the wonderful hospitality and friendliness shown to us in the Digby area. Thankyou.

Room was large, small fireplace in batroom, fireplace below the large Tv. Great wifi.
Comfy bedding. Large walkin-in shower. Room service offered everyday. Balcony overlooking the water. It was quiet during our visit but perhaps might be more livelier in higher tourist season (we were there Sept). 3 restaurants minutes away, things do close up very early. No entertainment when we visited.
We enjoyed a day at Westport Brier Is for whale watching (great excursion). Enjoyed a round of golf at area golf course.
Leaving area we took the Ferry from Digby to St John NB, saved a few hours of driving, costs about $200.

This hotel, the building does not look like much on the outside but the interior is updated & would stay there @gain if in the area.

My fiancé and I had a wonderful stay. They were very hospitable, friendly, and pleasant. Our room was absolutely amazing. It was spacious and cozy. The restaurant upstairs was not only convenient but the food was great! The staff did everything they could to make our stay special.

We had booked our room last minute because of the hotel we had booked was awful( the admiral digby inn). The Dockside did everything they could to Accommodate us and get the room ready in a timely manner so we could continue on our journey to go whale watching. We will definitely be going back in the future.

The best hotel stay I’ve had in Nova Scotia yet!

Hi the website sets out that they are a pet friendly hotel with a cost of $15.00 a night per pet plus a $15.00 a night deposit and it contains a pet stay agreement but the link is broken. You can email them and double check that this information is correct ... their website which is Fundy Restaurant and under contact information there is an email address.
