So me my husband and our 10 month old son came to nova scotia to visit family and stayed here at the whale cove in!! The family that runs the inn was very accommodating and super friendly! They went above and beyond to make sure all of our needs were met and we were comfortable and happy! We even enjoyed a meal of lobster and scallops together which was very nice!! The movable fireplaces outside with the lawn mower handles were also super cool!! Overall an awesome stay in a very comfy clean inn and will deff be returning next summer!! Unless covid gets in our way!

We planned to stay 2 nights originally but as soon as we found out a "motel" that we were staying I cancelled the following night. I thought it was a changing room or something like that when I stood in front of it. The "motel" was simply not good. CAD100 per night.... The TV wasn't working.... The coffee maker was not clean..... The door to washroom is not a real door but a vinyl accordion curtain.... The extractor fan in the washroom was as noisy as a dozen of Dysons.... During the night I kept hearing noise of shower and flushing toilet. I thought someone at the next door was using them. Next morning I woke up and stepped outside, then noticed that nobody stayed next door last night... I wondered where the noise came from. I walked to the back of my "motel" and found 3 doors.... 3 doors to washrooms and bathroom for campers!!! We didn't know we stayed at a toilet hut!!! So say No when you were offered a "motel".

We booked a rent-a-tent site the end of July. The experience was not at all what we had expected. The bathrooms we completely filthy ( strong smell of urine in all three/ Bath tubs backed up when showering/ dead moths in the hand soap dispenser/ in the three days spent not once was the bathroom tended to, from a sanitation/ cleaning stand point(amid COVID-19)) Our campsite was all mud, very little grass. The playground they promoted on website was not a playground in the slightest. It consisted of Little Tykes teeter-Totter & Picnic table, over grown with weeds and 20' from the campground RV dumping station. For being very rural and not having anywhere to replenish supplies within a half hour, I was surprised to see the office sell nothing but wood, ice and propane. And some nick knacks for tourists. No water/ pop/ snacks of any kind. not to mention the office closed daily just after 5 pm. Upon arrival we were given a menu for the local cafe down the road. So after we unpacked and set up, we headed to said cafe to find it closed at 5:00 on a Friday evening, on a long weekend. So we had to travel back to Digby for a meal. Basically if you need ANYTHING aside from wood/ice/propane, you had better have packed it, or your in for a drive to Digby, a half hour away. The staff seemed like great people, but it's a shame that the campground didn't get the attention from the owners as it should.

I booked this campground for the night of August 5, 2020 for myself and my 2 daughters. I booked the "Rent a tent" including 3 air mattresses as we were trying to travel light with limited space in my car. Upon arrival, the lady in the office seemed very nice. We went to our site to check in quickly and leave for a booked whale watch excursion. Upon getting to our site, the lot had not been mowed, the grass was approximately 1 foot high. All 3 of our air mattresses were deflated, I quickly inflated them and we left for Brier Island. While we were leaving, I noticed other tent sites that looked destroyed, tents & air mattresses in the woods, garbage scattered etc. We returned to our camp site at roughly 10 pm. 1 of the 3 air mattresses was again deflated, it was obvious it was leaking. I immediately called the office (owners home attached) and was greeted by a voice mail, I left a message stating they were on the other line & would call back soon. My call was not returned. One of my daughters & I decided to walk to the washrooms. There were 3, one was occupied. I took the center washroom and my daughter the one on the left. To say these bathrooms were dirty would be a HUGE understatement. The center one reeked of urine and was beyond dirty. Roughly an inch of dirt around the tub/shower. The left one also reeked of urine and also had feces smeared all over the walls. When we returned to our site I immediately called again, same voice message. Today is one week later, I have not been contacted at all by the owner(s). I am also attempting to contact NS Public Health & any other government agency necessary.
