The Prince George Hotel is celebrated for its prime location, nestled close to downtown attractions, dining, and scenic spots like the harbor and Citadel Hill. Guests have called out the cleanliness and comfort of the spacious rooms, although a few suggest that rooms on lower floors may feel a bit outdated. The staff's friendly and professional demeanor consistently impresses visitors, contributing significantly to the positive atmosphere of the hotel. While the modern amenities, including a pool and fitness center, are popular among guests, some believe these features could benefit from enhancements. Though the hotel's rates are considered steep by some, with added costs for parking and breakfast, the overall experience is often deemed worthwhile.

excellent stay... I would stay there again, anytime, got a room that I requested. i think that cleaning the filters weekly or monthly would be beneficial for those who suffer from allergies. Normally when i check in a room, i clean the room filters, but couldn't find one in this motel .

The Prince George Hotel is ideally located within easy walking distance of the Citadel, the Sports Arena, and the Harbor area. The room has some character and has all amenities, including real cream and milk in the fridge should you use the coffeemaker to prepare tea or coffee (also provided). I appreciated that the rooms are made up daily (unlike most hotels nowadays) and there is a door hangar for you to indicate when you want the room made up. There is a nice restaurant, bar, lobby, and patio. Definitely recommend if you want a nice place that is also convenient. Tip: parking on the street is easily available and costs far less than the parking garage; we parked literally in front of the hotel. Only negative: hot tub had a bit of mold.

The Prince George has undergone some decorating upgrades and conveniences since my last stay. Very nice and tasteful. This hotel is a great location for accessing most downtown areas by walking.Staff were helpful to book taxis and giving directions when asked.

This hotel is very nice and well situated. It boasts a great outdoor terrace, which is a bonus in downtown Halifax. This is my third or fourth stay here. On this trip, I found that the pillows did not smell fresh and had to use a towel on top. My daughter found the same and did likewise. That really put us off this hotel. There's a Keurig type coffee machine in the room, but no kettle. You can ask for a kettle to be delivered, but these are the most basic kettles I have ever seen, with no on/off button, just a plug, so water will not heat up unless you fill it. If, like me, you only drink filtered/mineral water, this is a small nuisance. A competitor hotel is opening right now virtually next door (The Sutton Place) so we may try that in future as there is nothing worse than smelly pillows. Time they got replaced. Management should have seen to that before now in my view. No-one wants to sleep on a smelly pillow, especially in these days. It does not reassure guests about cleanliness.

Upon arrival was very excited to be staying downtown Halifax. Check in was easy great as we had a very long day and were excited to get up to room to relax. Checking into the room we noticed that the floor by the bed didn’t look clean and as we looked down to see what it was we noticed that it was marijuana pieces on the floor by the bed. We looked around alittle more and then found fingernail clippings around the bed and behind on the outside which was pretty disgusting making me think did they even clean this room. In the moment as we were tired from travelling all day I called down to the front desk to make them aware of what we found upon check in. After calling front desk as the lady said well that’s gross and offered us free breakfast out of it. My girlfriend and I were just upset with this and just said whatever and just left the room. I’ve previously worked in the hotel industry for 7 years in Jasper, Alberta and was alittle shocked that this is what you do when someone checks into a room that has obviously not been cleaned properly especially with COVID 19 in the works right now so this was a truely disappointed experience at this hotel and has definitely turned me off of staying here again in the future. I expected much more for the money people pay to stay at your establishment. I hope you can learn from this experience as you should never allow guests to check into a room that has not been properly cleaned and pay good money to stay here! Thanks for free breakfast that was the only good part of our stay.

We spent two nights at Prince George hotel in July. The first impression was excellent. Unfortunately, our opinion has changed. On the second day my husband decided to brew a cup of coffee in our room. There were two mugs and one of them was clean. To our disgust, the second mug was not washed and had coffee leftovers in it from previous guests. I called room service immediately and received an apology and two clean mugs. If they don't wash the dishes after guests, who knows what else might be found wrong in rooms that is just invisible? With all the precautions and COVID restrictions, a dirty mug is the last thing that you want to discover in your hotel room. I give two stars, not one, only because staff was very friendly. I do not recommend this hotel.

We stayed for 10 days helping my daughter get settled in for college. To a T the staff is excellent, helpful and fast. The rooms were nice, nothing particularly special, but comfortable and a good size. A funny thing to note, but the water was really good here, especially compared to other hotels. Plenty of pressure, in fact the sink faucet was like a torrent. The beds were comfortable and I slept well in them. Bathroom was well appointed, closet was a good size. Every day we got a few bottles of water and Keurig style coffee pods. The desk and chair were sturdy and comfortable, which I appreciated because I was working, The internet was just OK, not really very fast (about 2 Mbps over wifi) but reliable.

No views to speak of, we could see a bit of the citadel lawn, but mostly the Keg. Be aware that the parking lot max height is 5'11", which was not big enough for our full size truck. Apparently there were some oversize spaces available, but we decided not to rely on a few spots that might be taken and paid a little extra for valet parking as they could always accommodate the truck.

A few minor complaints. The breakfast was not worth it. The buffet had a very limited selection, and the food was somewhat bland and sometime cold. We only had it once. Fortunately there are a lot of great options within a few blocks of the hotel. The other complaint was the elevators. Two just aren't enough for the hotel. One night there was a wedding going on and the wait for the elevator was ridiculous. We wound up using the stairs that night for the most part. Even without the wedding party, during busy times like check in and out, you'd often wait quite a while. I don't know how they could fix this honestly, but be prepared for some elevator frustration.

We stayed there before things went haywire earlier this year and special protocols were in place. It was wonderful; we felt very welcomed and very, very well looked after. The staff were really attentive, thoughtful and very helpful with recommendations. Our room was big enough that we didn't feel crowded, bright and very clean and comfortable. The pool was a particular delight; it wasn't full of chlorine and was a pleasure to use each morning. The location in downtown Halifax is very convenient. A memorable stay and we're looking forward to a return visit. Highly recommended.

Great location, friendly staff and rooms have some thoughtful touches which I really appreciated. The bathroom has a mini Scope and lotion that appears to be of better quality than the other products you find in other hotel chains. I like that the soap dispenser is ecofriendly and smells fantastic! Didn't use the shampoo or conditioner but they also look great. The gym was clean and offered just the right amount of equipment. I would have loved to see some sort of cage/squat rack or a pull up bar but that is asking for too much! The room was well maintained and I like the little touch of being able to mark exactly what types of services you like your room to have (i.e. more water, coffee, pillow fluffing, new towels etc) on the door tag each day. Staff were always warm and friendly and I really like the Atlantic Limo service they used for my drop off to the airport. Great service and the same cost as the local taxi. All these small touches make for a great experience.

Travel during Covid is challenging. Everything requires more effort and that’s ok by me. I don’t mind but I do find hotels have cut back so far on service, In the name of safety, that they’ve lost anything special and in many instances, interpreted ‘safety’ wrong.

We are staying on the Club floor during our stay. I booked directly with the hotel website and noted that it was a milestone anniversary for us. With club floors, you expect and pay for access to a lounge floor with extras such as coffees, teas, snacks. This club floor barely has any of that and in fact is the worst we have ever experienced.

Our room is large, a corner suite with a sitting area. It smells musty and old but is clean although weary looking. The whole hotel is weary looking - in fact, the elevators are filthy. That said, although tired, having 2 full baths is nice. Two TVs. Basic fridge.

Plus side: the king bed is the most comfortable we ever have slept in. The towels, although rough, are bath sheets and that’s lovely. Room is very quiet. Bedding is excellent . Great central Location. Lots of restaurants. Underground parking is $24/night

Downside: nothing to note for our anniversary although I mentioned it on our reservation. Hotel buffet was mediocre at best and very limited to basics - eggs, bacon, sausage and hash browns. Check in was quick and basic. No room service menus in room. Room service was fast once ordered. Pillows are too small
For a king bed.

Would I stay here again? I don’t think so. There is nothing special about this hotel so the value for $ is limited.

If you are a hotel guest and pay for parking, there will be a spot for you in their garage. Unless you pay for valet parking, it is open parking and any spot that you find is available to anyone. We tend to park in the upper level of the garage, less crowded and you can usually get your spot back.
