Centrally located, well maintained premises, very friendly and accommodating staff, nice continental breakfast in a beautiful setting (though some variety of food day to day wouldn't hurt). The buildings have Victorian charm and homey atmosphere, yet they don't feel 'old'.

My wife and I stayed at the Halliburton just after Christmas for a fun evening in Halifax. We arrived a little early and were able to check in and find a parking space behind the main building - the hotel was not bust that night. It was freezing out but our little room on the

This was our first stop on our trip in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and it set the tone for the rest of the month. The room was very comfortable, breakfast was good, and the people friendly. We weren't far from the touristy harbor area, so finding great restaurants was easy.

Had a pleasant one night stay here. The rooms were clean, warm and large. The hotel itself is comprised of three older historical houses, and each appears to have had significant work done to update them...although more modernization could be done. Our room was on the main

The room was spacious in a separate building from the main. The breakfast was good and staff friendly. The room was clean and bed comfortable. Parking tight behind the Inn. In walking distance of the harbor area.

I didn't stay in the main building, but I do know that they are each different and the various rooms are all configured differently. The staff there are most accommodating. and informative. they will take your calls almost any time of day and give answers to your satisfaction... and then some. A steep set of three or four steps gets you in to the front door of each building. I saw doors at the rear but did did not use it, so not sure of regular access. I think they monitor front door entry and exit for security reasons. As for extra features, each room is a bit different. My room had a queen bed with an extra little room with a twin bed in it. Nicely appointed with antiques and bath products. Continental breakfast is just ok, but a nice coffee shop is on the corner if you want to change it up. Enjoy your trip!

"There are two parking areas, one on the hotel grounds and a larger area a few blocks away. It's first come first to get a parking spot."
"The stairs are narrow and can challenge the elderly."
"Ask for a newer room. Ours was in the back part of the house and thus had not that much light in the room."
"If you can get a room towards the backside of the hotel it will be quieter (but not as good a view)"
"Ask for a room with a balcony!!"
