We arrived late and appreciated the helpful night clerk as we checked in. We had a lovely suite on the third floor - there's only stairs, as to be expected of historic homes. We stayed there multiple days, and while at first we thought the...More

Halifax is a neat town with lots to offer. good food, great seaside and city sights. Some old WWII 2 history and earlier int the fort. Although no elevator this place is handy to most of the downtown sights.
This is an older quaint hotel that is very close to the water....maybe 2 blocks away. Easy to get around to all the attractions easily. The room was nice, reflective of the hotel but small if you wanted to spend a lot of time there....More
Happily surprised by this gem of a hotel. Location and continental breakfast especially convenient. The room was lovely and at the tip of many stairs, but not a problem for us. We were lucky to get parking in the small back lot.

I didn't stay in the main building, but I do know that they are each different and the various rooms are all configured differently. The staff there are most accommodating. and informative. they will take your calls almost any time of day and give answers to your satisfaction... and then some. A steep set of three or four steps gets you in to the front door of each building. I saw doors at the rear but did did not use it, so not sure of regular access. I think they monitor front door entry and exit for security reasons. As for extra features, each room is a bit different. My room had a queen bed with an extra little room with a twin bed in it. Nicely appointed with antiques and bath products. Continental breakfast is just ok, but a nice coffee shop is on the corner if you want to change it up. Enjoy your trip!
