Quaint little property downtown, easily walkable to shopping and dining options. Nice light Continental breakfast. Front desk very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Free parking in the back for the month of November, which was handy, however very limited spots. Which is to be expected, after all you’re downtown 😊
The room was great, however it was very tired, needing the walls, doors and carpets thoroughly cleaned. BitI did overhear staff talking to carpet cleaners in the phone so that is being addressed. But keep in mind this is an older building that has been around for some time. Would any of these factors prevent me from staying again? Absolutely not! The friendliness of the staff, the great location and the charm of the building made the stay so worthwhile. Thank you!

The Garden South Park Inn is situated in a very handy location. We walked everywhere downtown in less than 20 minutes. It was also easy to find by car and had enough parking that we could keep the car in the back lot. The first impression was that the neighbourhood was a bit sketchy but it proved to be quiet and felt safe to walk at night.
Our room was in the basement which was alright, we were offered an upstairs room but other bookings would have had to be shuffled around and we weren't planning to be in the room much longer than to sleep, so we said not to worry about it. If you would like a view of the neighborhood then an upstairs room would be a good bet. The basement rooms are also a little awkward to access, with a few sets of up and down stairs and hallways.
The room was plain but clean, and the bed was comfortable. It was also remarkably quiet.
The shower had a rain showerhead and plenty of hot water.
The bath towels were quite small and non-absorbant, so that's a small touch that could increase comfort for guests if the inn wanted to invest in some nicer towels.
Continental breakfast included great coffee, and a selection of teas, juice, and milk. Basic breakfast cereals were available as well as bread products with a toaster, yogurt, muffins, and hardboiled eggs.
The breakfast room was available for guests to sit in during the day, but it would have been nice to have a sitting room with couches and comfy chairs since there wasn't anywhere to hang out in the room except for the bed and a couple of ordinary padded conference-room chairs.

All in all, the Garden South Park Inn is a friendly place to stay that met our needs just fine.

No complaints. The staff were friendly and helpful. The housekeeping was diligent and rigorous. The room was always clean. The complimentary breakfast was delicious, and I never once felt unsafe. The bed was incredibly comfy. I’ve never slept better in a bed that isn’t my own! I will definitely be coming back here next time!

Our stay at the Garden South Park Inn was quite disappointing. On the plus side, the location was excellent and the staff were very kind. We were able park our car behind the inn (for a fee) and then walk or ride our bikes all around the city.
The down side was our dilapidated room. The door had a large gap so that light poured in all night from the hall; the bathroom door did not close; there was no stopper for the bathroom sink; the bathroom tiles were loose; the grout in the shower had mold and the bathroom was not thoroughly cleaned (human hair in the shower and sink). A final disappointment was the poor "continental" cold breakfast food selection.

The rooms are lovely and the staff is lovelier! Wonderful service at a very good price. And the location is splendid—you are a block away from the beautiful Public Gardens, and only 15-20 minutes’ walk to any of the city’s sights. Highly recommended!

I recently stayed at the Garden South Park Inn while visiting Halifax and I'm so glad I did! The B&B was very nice and the room was clean and comfortable. The staff were lovely and the location was perfect! I picked this B&B so I could park my rental and walk around beautiful downtown Halifax. My only criticism would be to offer breakfast earlier. Breakfast starts at 7:45 am and most people who are in town on vacation like to get an earlier start. Myself and other guests were waiting in the beautiful lobby waiting for our breakfast and all commenting that an earlier breakfast would have been better. Other than that, I loved my stay at the Garden South Park Inn and would gladly stay again.

Located in a beautiful neighborhood next to Spring Garden Street with all its restaurants and shops and only a 10-15 minute walk to the Halifax Boardwalk. The B&B appears partially purpose built with many rooms. Our room 307 was in the back and very quiet. There is a coffee pot, refrigerator and dining table in the good sized room. There is a grocery a few blocks away and a microwave in the lounge. Continental breakfast is served in the front room. The staff we met - Marie and Makeesha were outstanding. They made our stay so much more enjoyable! As stated by other reviewers, a pending charge of $50 is added to your credit card to cover any potential damages but is not charged at check out if all is well. There is also parking behind the building for an additional $13.80 charge per night. If you plan on taking your car out and about it is more economical than parking in the hospital parking lot which is located right across the street. If parking is booked behind the B&B, the hospital parking is you best alternative and as stated, just across the street.

Great location. You can easily walk to all of the downtown attractions. No frills but clean basic rooms. There is a small lounge with computers and a printer that guests may use. Cold breakfast is included. Guests may also use the laundry, after 6 pm when the staff has finished.

Old furniture crammed into a tiny, not well kept room, where the headrest of the bed had a loose piece.
One should not look too closely into the corners of the room - or take the glases off.

Breakfast starting at 7:45 hrs. and check-out only after 8:20 creates the impression the owners try to make quick money without assuring minimal service.

When you geht a parking ticket for accepting the advice the staff gave us, you wonder how they work at that place.
The next day the didn't want to know about their wrong advice and refused to pay for their fault.

Luckily they were fully booked when we tried to add an extra night before our arrival.
That way we found a much better hotel with a large and clean room and staff who knew what they were talking about

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was quiet and clean, and we could walk to the waterfront and public garden. It is more hotel-like than the typical B&B.

The continental breakfast was just OK: cereal, muffins/bagels/toast, hard boiled eggs, sweetened yogurts.
