We stayed at the Inn August 10/11 2022. The rooms were clean, and the staff were incredibly helpful. The location, just across the street from the VG Hospital, made everything so much easier for us and our family. It is also a short walk from many lovely stores, restaurants, and parks. Many, many thanks to Marie Billard, your kindness was very appreciated.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Halifax. The Garden South Park Inn is situated close to parks, to restaurants and bars and is only a 20 minute walk to the harbour. The harbour is a great place to explore. The Garden South Park Inn was very comfortable, but lacking in hospitality. There was a different concierge at different times of the day. That made it difficult to set up any relationships with the people at the front desk. Important when travelling solo. The breakfast was ok, but I noticed a number of guests would take their breakfasts back to their room. As a tea drinker I would have appreciated a kettle in the breakfast room, or in my own room, so I could have made tea in the afternoon.
We enjoyed our two night stay at the Garden South Park Inn! The price jump in Halifax hotel and Airbnb prices led us there. With the senior discount, our comfortable room was $143 nightly. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet except for the back door noise around 7am when other guests disregarded all the notices to close door softly. We appreciated the great hospitality from Marie and the excellent downtown location. We would definitely stay again!
Lovely Inn just a 20 min walk up from the waterfront. We were late getting in to Halifax and the nice fellow on the desk was willing to stay till we arrived Nice sized room in a quiet Inn. continental breakfast provided and again, helpful staff. An enjoyable stay
The room was ok,as other travellers pointed out the beds do make a lot of screetching noise when you turn,I always wondered if people besides us hear it? But,it is close to many attractions, the downtown, hospital and university. The breakfast could be improved.
We stayed here for a 3 night visit to Halifax; centrally located and a charming property in a quiet neighborhood. Rooms were clean and well appointed. No onsite parking but easy access to a hospital lot across the street.
We love how the inn has a Victorian style. The rooms are nice and neat. Quiet building. Love the complimentary breakfast that made us full before a long drive back. Thank you for being our host for the night. We will definitely come back!
We came - sight unseen. It has been a fine stay. Ultra clean and Covid precautions in place. Room was more than ample - no comfortable chairs in the room, however. Too late ( historic buildings I assume) to vent the bathroom. Still, the breakfast was ample. I did have to sneak out for a Starbucks decaf. All in all, cordial folks run the place and if we come again , May stay here on our way to Cape Breton and PEI.
Friendly staff, nice big room with storage. Excellent location. Great breakfast options with cereals, boiled eggs, bagels etc that you help yourself too. Paid parking was possible too which helps. A 10 minute wander to the Harbour- all good.
We had two rooms on two different floors. Both rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable but the squeaked every time you moved. The room on the second floor was fine but guests coming back to their rooms in the late evening and early morning were very loud. The doors to the hallway are not sound proof. This really disturbed our sleep. The continental breakfast was really Costco muffins, individual yogurts, and cereal. Not very interesting
