Lovely staff - recommended a great restaurant to eat at (The Bicycle Thief). Very good breakfast available. Room was nice but a bit warm. Nice sized washroom and the bed was very comfortable - slept really well. I had a meeting the next day at the hospital so great to have just a short walk to get there!
I stayed at this lovely boutique hotel for 10 nights while I was attending to Conducting Symposiums in Halifax. Everything was wonderful. My first encounter was with Kyle at the desk. He helped me with my bags; discussed where things were around town; and later even got me aquainted with the bus system which I used every day of my stay. The Hotel is perfectly situated near three universities and is in easy walking distances to fine dining as well as casual restaurants and even fast food places. There is are two supermarkets as well as several convenience stores nearby as well. The room was comfortable, adequately furnished, very clean and quiet. The bathroom was equipped with the typical toiletries that you find in other larger hotels and there was also a hairdryer, an iron and an ironing board. There are clean laundry facilities on the lower level, although I did not make use of them. There were two computers available in the lounge on the second floor. Breakfast was continental style with different choices almost daily. Coffee was great and there was an assortment of fruit juices, yogurt, cereals pastries, muffins, etc. This hotel was a bargain compared to others around Halifax. I highly recommend it and would stay there again if I return.…
So we arrived at 3 pm for check in. The hostess allowed us in and got us settled. She seemed a little unwelcoming at first... but she does warm up to the guests. The young fellow that also worked was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. It was close to restaurants and the mall. We also learned how to take the bus to the harbour area... easily! The room was average. However, it served our purpose. No help with bags... The breakfast was basic but it did the trick. There was access to evening coffee and tea. I meet some very friends guests at this stay!
A nice Victorian House with nice staff, good breakfast and many historic areas within walking distance! Room fairly spacious for a historic Victorian house. Good continental breakfast much more than a pastry and coffee! Friendly and very helpful staff. If driving, make sure to ask when calling, to park in their lot it’s an extra charge but then you won’t need to park on the street. Enjoy!
Great location in this clean, old fashioned Inn: Movies, food, Citadel, Pubic Gardens and more. Very reasonably priced. The breakfast is in a nice little dining area: Coffee, toast, muffins, fruit, cereal, eggs. We'll stay again.
