Clean, friendly staff, checking in was quick (guy was really nice and helpful) other then a few issues nice hotel Old hotel, reno food from the restaurant ok, nothing to write home about (not much to choose from if you have food restrictions)
The Lord Nelson is still the top hotel in Halifax thanks to the comfort, style and level of service. The staff here are clearly trained to deliver superior customer service and this shows in the welcome, the way they help their clients and the service they deliver. The rooms, even the petite rooms are comfortable and stylish. The restaurant has impeccable service and top quality food. It's always quiet and a good nights sleep is guaranteed. The location is fantastic and close to everything.
The Lord Nelson is my preferred accommodation when I visit Halifax. It is wonderfully located downtown, with such easy access to shopping and restaurants. While it may not have the facilities of some more modern hotels, it has the charm and elegance of a different time. Staff is friendly, professional, and welcoming. The restaurant serves a variety of good food, and the rooms are comfortable and well-appointed for the business traveler.
We had a great stay at a 'classic" downtown Halifax hotel. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby and an easy walk to the waterfront. Adjacent to the Public Gardens and Halifax Citadel. Easy check in and convenient parking. A great restaurant on site.
This is a wonderful hotel generally. Cleanliness is a big factor for everyone. Upgrades are great but deep cleans are very important. Bath and bathroom fixtures could use some attention. looking forward to the improvements on our next stay.
Excellent service. Perfect location for my medical care at hospital. Staff very friendly. Good menu at restaurant. Very clean and quiet in room. Housekeeping very caring. All staff made you feel like you were home. Always
Very good stay! Clean & staff helpful when approaches. Cars (Taxis) available on demand. Rooms are clean and comfortable. In walking distances of Research Center, where working for the duration of my stay.
Luxurious suite, best bed and linens, great coffee in the room and a fireplace! We also loved the food at the Arms. Everything was made with exceptional thought and care, presentation was excellent, seasoning was excellent. Will definitely stay here again.
Stayed over night one night, and even our dogs were allowed to stay with us. Beds comfortable and feather pillows and the room was very clean. Quiet and we were within walking distance of La Frasca Cibi & Vini Restaurant.
Great location. We were here for the World Juniors Hockey Championship. Easy walk to Scotiabank Center and Harbor. Enjoyed walking in Public Gardens and Citadel. Room was clean and comfortable. Front desk staff made it easy to drop off luggage before check in so we were free to explore.
