This was our second visit here with two dogs-I hadn’t realized they have a great trail behind the hotel to take the dogs-the only issue is that they really need to take pride and clean up the entrance to the trail-it’s actually beautiful. Breakfast is great, but the local restaurants are just ok-you need to travel to find a good one. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Hotel's Favourite
This is a very nice motel-type establishment, with great parking, easy to find and easy to get on or off the highway. Very handy to the airport. Staff is very polite and efficient. The room was clean and had sufficient space. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was a little scant for vegetarians, but otherwise, quite okay. This is a great option if you are staying overnight to drive elsewhere or to go to the airport the next day.

The mattress was very lumpy, the room was very damp. Even when you walk on the carpet, you can feel the dampness. The carpet in the hallway were very dirty, old and all matted down. The only reason I’m giving it a one star was because their breakfast was very good.

The front-desk staff were courteous, unfortunately, there was not much that they could do with the despicable state of the Inn. The rooms were likely undergoing renovation as there was tape everywhere, footprint marks in the washroom, new/old furniture throughout the hallways, and boxes piled at every corner. The rooms were NOT cleaned, and possibly just tidied-up slightly after the last occupant. There were large stains on the bed linens, unflushed toilet bowl, hair strands in the washroom and on the bed linen, and ketchup-residue (still wet) on the couches. The front desk staff were apologetic and quickly moved us to another room, which was in a similar condition. This was also brought to their attention and they inspected the room as well and agreed. We spent a good part of our evening locating alternative accommodations and missed out on a tour that we have planned to take. The GM was emailed and she responded the next morning that she was sorry that the property was not to our liking and we found alternative accommodations elsewhere.

This is a very comfortable and clean hotel that is a short of to downtown Halifax. They also have laundry facilities for guests to use; detergent is available for purchase at the front desk. Parking is convenient (and free); nice location. The breakfast has enough selection to satisfy a variety of preferences.

First understand the place was packed because of a massive fire 30min away and lots of displaced people and their pets so they were overwhelmed with calls and bookings ! Massive fire had us leave our house twenty minutes away. Called and they booked us right away for two nights, after when we realized we needed to stay longer they worked hard to arrange that for us. We then had to stay even longer ( total of five nights) they rearranged a lot of things in order to keep us in the same room the entire time and I know that took them a lot of work but they did it for us. Staff: Absolutely amazing and very family owned hard working people. Cleaning staff are hard workers and probably put up with a lot of stuff from customers. Maintenance staff was on duty working hard all day long, came to our room to help fix our TV and internet, breakfast staff lady ( two different ones) worked non stop to make sure hot food was there, yes just the usual eggs, sausage, toast etc type stuff but also cookies and treats and she worked her full shift nonstop cleaning up after so many people and always with a smile. Room: We had two cats and yes they charge a pet fee but absolutely understand the extra cleaning fee. They are renovating so it’s important to keep that in mind, our room was very nice and the shower was excellent but low water pressure (so what) no hangers for coats but probably not in yet due to renovations. No T.V remote but they found one for us ( nothing on tv anymore so did not use it anyway) wifi in our room did not work for the first two nights so we sat in the lobby ( relaxing lobby) and used it there. After a few days the wifi was fixed. Bed was super clean and comfortable, air conditioning worked perfect and we were next to the laundry room but had no issues. Hallways were cramped on 1st floor but it’s an older building and they are renovating so remember that, the work that has been done looks great. Very small gym with two treadmills and a few weights but great for a quick 30min session. Did not use the small pool but looked great for a quick cool off Spent a lot of time on the beautiful front deck in the morning drinking coffee and using wifi. At night a lot of the owners family were there and all extremely nice people and you can tell all very hard working people. This hotel may not be like a 5 star downtown HFX hotel but it’s set up nicely, very comfortable for a few nights stay, very convenient if you have a car to everything however you can take the #80 bus outside and that will take you right downtown. 4 - 5 for hotel because renovations 3.5 for breakfast but 5-5 for kitchen staff, 5 -5 for all the hardworking staff.

JUST DON’T!!! Probably the most disgusting hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Definitely NOT worth the price. There was dried blood on the curtains, layer of dust with hand prints on the top of the bed board. Room was super small and smelled. The mattress cover was cloth and the breakfast that was “included” was ice cold and gross.

It was a bad start when we were checking in and the agent said my room number right out loud, even though there was another guest standing right beside me. I know they’re not supposed to do that for security reasons, but I let it slide as we were quite tired from a long day of driving. We go outside to get our bags after check-in, then as we’re back in the hotel and heading down our hallway, the same guest who was beside me at check-in is in the hallway closing a door. He looks at us, white as a ghost, and tells us that he just walked in on a man laying in bed. They gave him a room that was already occupied by someone else! He was speechless. He said he walked right in, turned the light on, and saw the gentleman, who clearly got very scared. YES, I KNOW I SHOULD HAVE LEFT AT THIS POINT. We go into our room, which looked pretty good at first glance. We barricaded the door behind us, no joke, in case the same happened to us. The first bad thing we noticed was the electrical outlet in the bathroom. It was fried. It had clearly been damaged, and was very unsafe. Holes and cracks all through it. I’ll add photos. Then, we saw all the mess around the heating/AC unit. It had green painters tape all around it; and tons of spray foam messily applied and not cleaned up the blinds didn’t close, so we were awoken at the crack of dawn and there was nothing we could do about it. I took a shower and had to stand in about two inches of water the entire time because it didn’t drain well. I took the drain cover thing off afterwards, and I wish I hadn’t. Mounds of hair. Disgusting. I took a photo, but I could only capture the hair on top, not the hair all stuck underneath. The alarm clock only turned on if the entrance light was on. Like what? We put drinks in the fridge in the evening, and went to get them in the morning and they were warm. The fridge didn’t work. It was plugged in, but didn’t work. The coffee maker only worked if I held the lid part down with my hand. Near burnt myself, so I just used my shoe to hold it down. The breakfast was great!!

Stayed here for one night when bringing a family member to the airport. The inn is old and outdated. They were in the process of renovation when we stayed and some halls were full of stacked furniture. I booked a suite with a separate bedroom. It was small, basically the same size as a regular room but with a wall separating the two beds. Nothing about the inn was spacious. The room was small, the bathroom was small (and poorly equiped), the halls were narrow, the pool is small and right next to the lobby with windows facing said lobby. There is no restaurant, but there is a small dining room where they serve a hot buffet breakfast, which is included in the price of the room. Any noise made in the halway could be heard loud and clear, which especially sucked at 1:30 a.m. The room wasn't well cleaned. There was hair in the sink and tub, the topsheets had some stains. Overall, for the price we paid I expected better. The room was cramped, not well cleaned, everything about the building was tightly spaced, and we could hear any and all noise in the halway very loudly. The staff were friendly and accomodating, however. But for the price we could have stayed at a 3 star hotel with a lot more space and nicer rooms.
