When we arrived we were not sure what we were getting into! Finding the ain't entrance proved a little difficult it we found the small parking lot and walked around the building! We were greeted by a friendly attendant who told us of great places to go and visit, taxi info and even called a taxi for us! The inn...

We had a reservation but were unable to keep it. The room was large and clean. The staff were very understanding and helpful in allowing us to cancel our reservation without penalty. It is a central location with free parking.

Location, location, location and price are the main appeal here - The Commons is cheap and conveniently located within a 10 minute walk of downtown Halifax. Parking is free if arranged upfront and is at the back of the Inn - places are limited so make sure you book in advance of arrival to ensure a space. There are entrance...

The hotel itself is really cute and old looking. The parking was minimal and had to fight for a parking spot, and not much room to get into your parking spot. We had room 410, which is quite a journey up the stairs; but that wasn't too bad. The room itself had quite a bit of damage in the room,...

So, the front desk clerk was friendly when we checked in and the heat worked well. Parking was inadequate, despite it being the off season. The bed was decorated with bedbug traps. The shower was lacking in towels. The headboard of the bed was not even attached, it was just leaning against the wall behind the bed. Wall plugs were...

This place is advertised as something great online. But this place is a royal dump. Hotel clerk seemed perpetually confused about everything. We got our room, only to open up to a dirty room as if someone had just rolled out of bed and there was a Sobeys bag full of trash on the floor. Charming. As we proceeded back...

Great location, able to walk to downtown from the hotel. Rooms were small but adequate. Had difficulty getting the TV to work consistently because of how the cable box was dangling on the wall; it had to be at a certain angle to work. Staff was helpful and friendly.

My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Halifax. Our room was very small, 2 twin beds but was sufficient for what we needed it for. We were out of the room most of the time. If you have a lot of luggage it may be too small of a room. It was clean. There was a...

Upon arrival, we were a little concerned about the area/surroundings, but after midnight it seemed to really quiet down so we caught a few winks prior to our very early morning flight out. Front desk personnel were professional and accommodating to our needs. The hotel is very old and could use some updating. Overall, it was reasonable.
