We booked in got key for room and we went upto first floor carpets on stairs where very dirty not been scrubed in yrs same goes for the corridor too.
The big shook was the room it smelt musky in there there was a TV in there but it did not have any channels very small fridge that was used as a bedside cabinet bed was very soft and lumpy. There was waiting on the walls and where dirty marks
There was not kettle or brewing gear, but breakfast we went for on our first full day we walking in and turned around and walked out it did not look clean at all and the breakfast was toast younger and fruit with coffee yet they stated Continental breakfast we never eat in there even though we payed fir breakfast
We went to the restaurant next door for food but what finished it off fir us on 3rd day out side having a smoke we so 2 huge RATS running around yep you read right RATS 🐀 thank God we onky had 1 more day
Last day we got up early to book out so we coukd get out of the place. The smell we think came from the drain as the sink in bathroom stuck to high heavens. We had to ask for clean towels as they nit been changed in 2 days to be fair its onky time house maid entered out room
We will be in no rush to stay here again as guest there looked very undesirable people any one else with common sense would give this hotel a wide birth 👍
We have stayed at the Commons Inn about 5 times in the past and it has gotten worse every time. We continuously try to be patient, be flexible, and give them the benefit of the doubt. After our last stay we will not be returning.
During check in the worker accidentally charged us twice. Even after repeatedly requesting it, she would not give us any form of proof of cancellation of the charge placed on our credit card. This left us wondering if the charge really was cancelled (we are still waiting to find out).
We checked in to a room which smelled upon arrival. The bathroom door wouldn't close but we didn't mind. We found a Kleenex box squished between the headboard and the wall, which made me wonder how well the room had been cleaned. If they didn't clean up something so obvious, what else did they miss? When leaving for dinner that night we realized the main door to our room didn't latch properly: the slightest push could open our "locked" door. Since we were staying 2 nights and didn't want to leave our belongings unlocked, we brought it to the desk workers attention.
She moved us to another room which also smelled. The only form of television is chrome-cast, but this room was missing part of the hardwear required. My partner made the front desk aware, as we didn't want them to think we stole it and end up being charged for it.
After all the hassle, we explained to the worker that we had stayed at the Commons multiple times before and asked if there was any chance we could get a small discount for our troubles. She simply responded, "no".
"Wifi / TV wasn’t great. Be prepared to use your cellular data or bring other forms of entertainment if you’re spending time in the room. "Read full review
