A delightful visit with a delightful lady! Enjoyed some wonderful chats, especially if you love the arts, as I do! Breakfast started with a huge bowl of fresh mixed fruit and yogurt and lots of hot delicious coffee. Joan is a wonderful host and we will definitely visit again!

Such a find. Really can't fault the Marigold. Enhanced my first-ever visit to Nova Scotia (from London, UK) so much. A lovely house in an atomospheric, quiet, leafy street walking distance from the town centre, it's steeped in family memories and alive with Joan's lovely paintings. I felt at home the moment Joan greeted me on the doorstep with an...

We stayed with Joan at her great B&B for three nights. This is her family home dating back at least 100 years and it retains that feeling of family and coziness. Joan is a great cook, knows and loves her city, and in no time you feel like you are staying with an old friend not just a host. The...

Joan was a hit. From the well above average breakfast to her knowledge of local history, she was a great host. Be prepared to chat awhile or have a preset excuse why you need to slip out in the morning. Our room was nice, king size bed and really kicking water pressure in the shared shower. Easy access to the...

Had a great stay at Marigold. Joan was an excellent host. It was an absolutely last minute thing, called the afternoon of. I needed somewhere to stay for 1 night before getting my apartment, and Joan was both accommodating and helpful. We had a great talk about Haligonian history, and she offered to lend me several books and maps. The...

I planned a rather last-minute trip to Nova Scotia with a few days' stay in Halifax. Many of the downtown hotels were either booked, or very expensive and we'd rather stay in a B & B anyway. The Marigold was a really nice experience! I enjoyed staying in a regular residential area as opposed to the touristy downtown. It was...

Spent three nights in September 2015. We were looking for a place less expensive than downtown hotels. Got that plus lots of bonuses! Joan was wonderful host - warm and knowledgeable. Walk to downtown and tourist sites. Lots of restaurants nearby due to the college. Rooms comfortable but smallish. Loved the art in the house. Recommend!

Joan is a lovely and very hospitable host. Her B&B is located 20 minutes walking distance from the city centre in a residencial neighbourhood. The room was clean and nicely decorated with Joan's paintings. The breakfast was excellent. Joan was very kind to share lots of useful tips and recommendations about things to do and places to see in Halifax...

I visited this B&B in between working on the women's World Cup. I was travelling from Moncton to Halifax for the night and got in touch with the marigold hotel Marigold B&B. Couldn't be more welcoming ,friendly ,easy going and relaxing. Made my trip to Halifax so much easier and enjoyable as I felt safe and at home. Please don't...

Joan, the host, is very welcoming and has a lovely well cared for home. The full breakfast was very filling and tasty (fresh cut fruit, bacon and eggs, toast, cereal, home made jams). She willing accommodated our gluten free diet by providing gluten free cereal and bread. The bedrooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. The B&B is...
