I booked this property using my Hilton points after reading the excellent reviews. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Jay who accomodated my request for a quiet room and I was upgraded at no extra charge. As a Hilton Honors Gold member I also received a welcome gift ( bottle of water and snack bar)
The room was very well appointed with a nice work area, fridge/ microwave and the usual Hampton amenities. I utilized the fitness room that had a good variety of cardio machines as well as some weight training equipment including a nice set of dumbells and bench.
I decided to extend my stay to 2 nights.
Breakfast buffet was up to the usual Hampton Inn standard and Carrie, Atria and Kellie were very friendly and helpful.
Autumn at front desk was particularly delightful and both Jay and her when requested provided me with change for the bus as well as a map and recommendations.
I also had some interaction with the cleaning staff who were equally as helpful and gracious.

This hotel is newly renovated like many Hamptons these days. We really like their studio suite layout for our family. Pool was closed due to COVID but they did a great job with breakfast options. Staff (front desk, kitchen and cleaning) were all friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Overall, we find Hampton Inn’s to be great value for money and this Barrie location was particularly nice. Oh yeah, bonus - we felt safe even as a tornado ripped through town, mainly due to the solid core slab concrete construction.

Great location, friendly staff and nice big rooms. Only disappointment was the poor condition of the bathroom and the lack of attention to detail in the overall cleanliness. It would also be good to offer sealed disposable plastic cups and plastic liners for the ice buckets.

I was in Barrie for 4 nights and stayed at this hotel having previously stayed at other Hampton Inn and Suites. Nice lobby but our room was well worn. Badly in need of a reno. It was very humid so we had to run the air conditioner at night. Basically every time it came on both my wife, my daughter and I would be woken up. It had a very loud blower was mount against the outside wall. It was brutal. We are normally deep sleepers. I’ve only experienced this type of unit in budget motels in one hotel towns. Didn’t expect this for the price charged for the room.
When we entered our room I noticed a bobby pin on the carpet in front of the TV. That bobby pin stayed there for our entire visit. So likely our room was never vacuumed for our 5 day stay. They did make the beds every day and tidy the room but we had to call the front desk to get our towels changed. Given the humidity towels wouldn’t really dry when hung.
The breakfast they provided was ok. The eggs where decent although my 9 year old was not impressed with the stale cheerios provided by one of those long tube where you turn the wheel at the end. She did enjoy the waffles.
From a price point this hotel should rent for $99 dollars per day not the grand it cost me for four nights. It’s a solid two star hotel . It will stay busy simply because there aren’t many hotels in Barrie.

There is absolutely no place to charge your phone. We tried the back of the TV but it didn’t have charging capabilities. The room was clean but you may want to bring your own tissues if you don’t like blowing your nose with toilet paper.

We chose to stay at this hotel based on the price and it having a pool.
We were disappointed right at check-in when we were told the pool heater is broken. We also requested a crib and the woman at check-in said she would see if they have.
The room was surprisingly huge and very nice.
Two hours later I went back to ask about the crib and some shampoo (there room had very little). She said she'd check on the crib and bring shampoo. A bit later she called and said there were no more cribs and someone would bring shampoo the next morning. Nobody ever did.
Our short stay there was ruined because of the pool, but otherwise, the hotel was nice.

My family stayed for three nights and were impressed by the friendliness of all the staff, including the general manager, who went out of her way to be welcoming. I find it hard to credit the impression of this lady given in another review. As a celiac I had asked in advance about gluten free items and got a very rapid response from the general manager and the person in charge of breakfast. There were a number of GF items, including fresh fruit. The breakfast area is a bit small, so can be crowded at busy times, but this is minor. Room was very good size - slight negative was my son found the sofa bed rather uncomfortable due to metal bar in centre. Room was very clean. Having microwave and refrigerator was great for us in giving flexibility, especially with Zehr’s grocery conveniently close by. Great access to highway. We will definitely stay here again and we are happy to recommend it.

We stayed here for 2 nights when we travelled to Wasaga Beach which is a 40-minute drive from the hotel. This is the best hotel in Barrie. I would recommend we stayed in the 2 queen studio which was very large and accommodated us. The bath amenities were very luxurious as well! The breakfast was not a buffet but an enhanced grab and go which I appreciate. The general manager was very nice to us and giving us extra supplies and towels when we needed them. I wish that the rooms had more decoration in the bathroom area and if the shower head and sink faucets were replaced with newer ones as there was very little water pouring out of them. But, that is a very minor problem and can easily be replaced by the hotel!

The rooms were very clean and we had a good quiet night’s sleep. Even the hockey players were quiet. In the morning, we went down for breakfast. In the lobby, there is a self-service coffee station. We noticed that there were four people standing there serving themselves coffee and tea without wearing masks or any footwear. It looked like they just came from the pool as they had wet towels which were touching the counter tops of the coffee station. We mentioned this to the front desk manager and the response was something along the lines of allowing for medical exemptions. All four?? My wife pointed out the missing footwear and the manager told the group to put on some shoes. She called them by their first names so they either must be regulars or friends. While we can understand the need for an exemption, there was no effort from the manager to immediately sanitize the area where the group had been.

Rooms are clean, and the beds are comfortable, The staff is very accommodating and kind. The front desk even called once I reached the room, just to make sure I was satisfied with the room, and had everything I needed. That level of hospitality is extremely hard to find nowadays, I’ve stayed at this hotel three times in the last six months, and I haven’t had one complaint with this hotel.

The pool closed at 10 pm. We were at a hockey tournament during the day so the daytime opening probably would be 10 am, but that is a guess on my part. Nice amenities at that hotel. Enjoy.
good morning. Our studio suites have both a fridge and microwave in the rooms. Our traditional rooms do not have them, but we do have a few available to be delivered upon request and availability. Currently the suites sell for just $10.00 more than the traditional rooms.
