Thanks for a great experience!
Breakfast was included in our rate. It was a standard buffet with hot food sitting in chafing dishes, although you could make your own toast or waffle. Overall, nothing special. They use disposable plates and cutlery, which is a shame.

Filthy.
Staff at the front desk were irresponsible and unprofessional.
Bed sheets were not fully washed properly. They definitely had not been inspected with Mariott standards. Comforters smelled of hockey equipment.
The floors at the edges of the beds were not vacuumed.
Garbage from candy wrappers behind the lamp.
I complained about the dirt in the bathroom, crumbs on the counter near the lamp, filthy carpets in room and hallways etc.
I had also complained in February & March 2022 of the same issues.
Hotel offered to switch rooms for us at 9:30pm. Switch to another dirty room????
There were too many pictures of the room and hotel for my device to load for this review.
I’m not sure why they don’t wash their curtains. Brown stains that clearly had been there for some time.
The hotel is continuously understaffed.
Since I am a Mariott member, I had given this location many chances to fix their problems, but they chose not to. Their standards are very low.
One of the staff members at the front desk accused me of trying to get a 20% discount off of my room, since they had given that to me months prior. I told him that it was not my intention to get a discount. I told them to keep their discount to rent a carpet washer!
Coffee, drink and food stains were still on the carpets a year later. The same stains that I had viewed 6 months prior and a year prior!
I repeatedly attempted to speak with a Senior Manager at the Hotel, but never received a call back. I left 4 messages. I also contacted the Mariott Head office, however, head office simply forwarded the issue to the Barrie location where my concerns were dismissed.
I have given this location over a year to resolve their issues. Not only have they not contacted me, they accuse me of manipulation for a discount! That is why, after I year, I finally am writing this review.
I asked for more towels since the bathroom had few in the room, the Front Desk on duty gave us the towels and by surprised, the face towels were dirty. And since the hotel have the protocol of cleanliness, the Front Desk on duty must check the towels before giving to the guest. No apology nothing but gave me a look.
I am writing to encourage to improve the customer service of your Front Desk staff and ensure to take pride in giving your guest the feeling at home and the high standard of cleanliness in order not to spread the covid19 virus in your hotel.
I would like to take credit for the Housekeeping Asian Lady on the 3rd floor for excellent service as well as Ruby. Both of them were very professional in their field of work.
I hope that these problems will rectify the service in your hotel in order to maintain the reputation of Marriott Hotel Worldwide.
Thanks.

The second time staying the check in was again very inefficient. On the day we were checking out, there were staff knocking on our door early in the morning asking when we would be leaving, even though check out was not for another few hours!
Al though the location is convenient and the rooms are nice, there are other hotels in the area for less money with better service that I would rather stay at than experience the lacking customer service again.
Important lesson learned - not all hotels in the brand are the same. We checked in after 4pm or tried to. Another traveller had been waiting for 10 minutes for a clerk to appear. We took turns ringing the bell that is there as the phone rang continuously. Eventually the clerk appeared and we checked into a cramped room.
The grab and go breakfast was a pleasant surprise and quite good. The pillows were flat - other Fairfield Inns usually have a firmer option. So we had terrible sleeps and a day of driving ahead of us. Unless you want pizza, you will have to get in your car again to get dinner.
Next time we pass through Barrie, we will take advantage of the many other options available.
The staff - all of them - were very welcoming and helpful.
We thoroughly enjoyed our one-night stay.
But Orillia seems determined to keep tourists out of its beautiful beachfront parks and beaches because more than 90 per cent of the parking spaces are reserved for local residents only.
One tiny visitor parking area we found charges $50 per day from Friday to Sunday evening with no provision for hourly rates.
Pre-allocated Room not ready at 3 pm arrival,
Room not clean on day 2 of 5 ( told to read sign at reception desk - too late as staff had gone at 4 pm).
Coffee was not warm when and if available.
Breakfast egg McMuffins and no eggs.
Hall Side door exit to parking not working.
Told before reservation city parking was ok on side street ( not so as it is limited to city parking owner only), otherwise be ready for $10/hr or $50 / day fee welcome to Barrie.
Since we did not feel welcome we cut short our stay after 2 days and cancelled our golf and restaurants plans.
