#1 of 11 B&Bs / Inns in Belleville
Montrose Inn, one of the best examples of 'ante bellum' architecture in Ontario, was built in 1916 by Robert J. Graham, a prominent businessman and former mayor of Belleville and remained in the family until the early 1980's. Montrose Inn invites you to journey back in time. From the first glimpse of this magnificent mansion through the stately gates and stone wall, visitors are welcomed by the well-manicured grounds and inviting verandahs that grace the front of this stately home. Overlooking the beautiful Bay of Quinte, Montrose beckons you to enjoy the tranquility of a bygone era.

My husband surprised me with a weekend away here when our trip to China was canceled due to COVID19 It was a fabulous mini vacation, the place is gorgeous, the food is delicious, the hosts are amazing, the grounds were so nice to walk, such a beautiful place and fairly central to visit all the local sights. We plan to return during the warmer months once COVID19 is over.

On October the 9th,2020, my wife & I had the wonderful opportunity to experience the Montrose Inn and spend some time chatting with the hosts, Suzette & Roger. If you want a relaxing and refreshing time in a old country setting then you have to experience this place for yourself! Comfortable rooms and an amazing breakfast make this a must for anyone needing to just get away for some quiet time. The minute you arrive Suzette & Roger make you feel like you've known them forever. We shared the joys and sorrows of raising children and running a household, especially a B&B. We would definitely return, Lord willing, and recommend their place with a 5 star plus. Thank you Suzette & Roger for an unforgettable time. We needed it!

What a beautiful day! Our hosts, our afternoon tea, the ambience, the setting - everything was wonderful. Thank you Suzette and Roger - you are the best! Suzette, the lavender tea was outstanding but so was everything from the tea sandwiches, to dessert (lemon sorbet!), to tea. Before we left, we were already planning our next trip. Every corner of the expansive property is a photographer's dream. I am torn between - tell everybody and tell no one - as it is that good!

For the second year, we enjoyed an amazing afternoon tea on the spacious verandah at the Montrose Inn. We were 5 adults and 2 children, and everyone was simply delighted with the whole magical experience. The food is scrumptious and the service makes you feel special. Spend some time exploring the gorgeous gardens, too.

Dec 12/19 Ladies in our church got together for our Christmas get together and we had a blast. Every room was wonderfully decorated for the Christmas season. High tea was absolutely delish, we had such a great time and Suzette and her crew were great and very accommodating to the needs of our group, we had such a great time and look forward to next year. Thank you again for the great time 😊
