Arrived later in the evening. Locating the hotel and parking were easy.
Greeted at the front desk. Check-in was professional, simple and very easy. I noticed the little touch with “used pens”, which was nice. They asked you placed your used pen in a separate container, so presumably they will disinfect them. Always ensuring customers would have a clean pen to use. There was a separate container marked clean pens.
As a business traveller, I do a quick check of various items prior to settling in. During this check, an issue was noted and I contacted the front desk. The resolution provided was prompt and efficient.
The room was laid out nicely. More than adequate for me to do some work after getting settled. Bathroom was clean.
Noticed the remote for the TV was wrapped up, similar to what I noticed when I travelled during the peak of COVID. I felt this hotel took cleanliness seriously and appropriately,
Breakfast the next morning was simple and easy. Don’t expect a gourmet buffet, but they had all the staples necessary for breakfast.
The staff were all friendly and professional.
One small item to note - the channels on the TV did not match the stations. For example, the channel would state “CTV”, but it was “TSN”.
If I needed to stay in the area again, I would definitely come back.

I was nervous about a hotel stay during covid, but this 1 night stay was a great experience. after spending a day at Sandbanks with busy kids it was a very welcome overnight. Not sure they could do much about the lacklustre breakfast, that had all the pluses for covid. I asked for early check in and then changed my mind, and turned up at normal checking time and there was no surliness that I've experienced at other places. I stayed in a suite for a family of 2 adults and 3 children and it 2 queen beds with pull out sofa was perfect! we had a small kitchenette (with mini fridge, microwave and coffeemaker), so were able to store snacks, water and fix bedtime beverage. Clean, new, not too large, with lots of food (grocery or restaurants) options nearby (and shopping!!) - we couldn't ask for more. The pool was thankfully not too busy, so we enjoyed a few hours of playing around before checking out and visiting the mini golf nearby. Staff was very accommodating my neaatfreakness when I asked for a fresh set of sheets for the pull out bed and they did give me constant assurances that the beds were freshly made! :-) The hotel is away from the waterfront / marina, and its a small hotel, which was the only "drawback" so there's no "view" to speak if, if you need that in your hotel stay!

This hotel is close to a wide variety of restaurants and has a Starbucks in the front parking lot. The rooms were really clean and up to date and had everything you would need for a short stay. The rate included breakfast consisting of scrambled eggs, sausages, pancakes, muffins, yogurt & fruit etc... I would highly recommend this hotel.

I recently stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. I highly recommend it! In this time of covid, we are all very sensitive to the cleanliness of the rooms and the public spaces. It is impeccable! Their rooms are spotless. Even the standard rooms are fairly large sized. I think it has been refurbished recently because everything is spotless.
We only had a minor problem during our stay. In the room adjacent to mine, probably a teenager with special needs, screamed a lot during the evening. I had to call the front desk at one point because it was scary. He did not stop screaming. I think it was Ben that came up almost immediately and he handled the situation like a pro. One of my friends, who was in another room, also opened his door. Ben asked up to go back in our rooms so he could handle the situation. He was very calm. I highly commend him for the way he handled this difficult situation. I also had to call a couple of days prior to our stay and talked with the manager Jessica, who is also very professional and courteous.
The only downside, and it is not a big one, is the breakfast. It does the job but not much more. However, in the hotel chains, I don't expect a fancy breakfast.
I highly recommend this establishment!

The service at this hotel was just perfect! Everyone was friendly, smiling and took the time to talk to us (reception, housekeeping, people serving breakfast, etc.). The person in charge of breakfast even took the trouble to notify people in the dining room 5 minutes before closing so that they could go for a last service.
The free breakfast was good even a little better than in some hotels (in terms of variety).
The training room is however really small and limited in equipment.
The swimming pool is good however the spa contains far too many chemicals. There was so much that foam was forming on top and we had trouble breathing in it. We must have forgotten the idea of using it.

Check in was simple. Our credit card was charged the moment we arrived and the receipt was delivered to our room on the day of our departure. We saw a security guard doing his rounds in the lobby at night. Our family stayed here during the civic holiday long weekend in the 2 queen bed suite on the main floor. We did not hear any noise coming in from the hallway during our stay. Our room was bright, clean, spacious and beds were comfy. Sofa bed was an added bonus. As well as the mini fridge, kuerig coffee machine and microwave. Lots of storage and shelves to place our items. The parking lot was full in the front but around the back, there’s plenty of spaces available. The outdoor patio was great for relaxing while we helped ourselves to the complimentary cookies, coffee, tea and water. Sandbanks provincial park is 40 mins away. Breakfast lounge was uncrowded when we went at 7 am and the options were fantastic. There was cheese omelette, baked beans, sausages and breakfast potatoes. In the cooler, we found hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cream cheese and milk. The opposite table had hot buns, butter, jam, peanut butter, muffins, fruits, bagels, english muffins, and toast. There were also assorted cereal and pancakes. The location was superb. Walking distance to lots of restaurants, fast food eateries, grocery stores and coffee shops. Shopping mall and highway is conveniently close by. Overall I would return and recommend this hotel. This place is modern, close to everything, the staff were friendly and polite and the price was reasonable. We had a fantastic stay.

We visited this facility during our holidays. The location is the perfect distance to visit such places as Sandbanks, Struitvogel Ranch, Glenmore National Historic site and do some shopping at QuinteMall. The room was spacious, very clean and with ideal amenities (including a night light, and small freezer to keep our icepacks frozen). Upon our arrival, we were welcomed by the friendly staff with guidelines about the hotel. We used the pool and hottub which were very well maintained. We ate well at the on-site breakfast which was kept clean, organised and replenished regularly. Overall, we had an excellent experience and will return next time we visit this area.

We recently stayed there over the Thanksgiving weekend. What a great hotel. It’s over 20 years old but nice and crisp and spotless. A marked contrast to a similar vintage HIX in the area I reviewed last year. You can tell these owners care. This is your place for good value. Just off the 401 and very close to many restaurants- lots of choice and some you can walk to. I especially impressed with the staff. Very welcoming, friendly and caring from the front desk staff to the housekeeping staff. Carrie in the breakfast area was exceptional. Always making sure all offerings are full, keeping the whole area clean- she never stops.

On our way home from Montreal we stayed overnight at Holiday Inn Express. We asked for a suite, and got a very lovely room. The bed was heavenly. The room looked like it had been recently upgraded. Everything looked and felt new. The decor was very contemporary, with a large screen tv that we could position so that we could see it from anywhere in the room. The complimentary breakfast in the morning was very plentiful and tasty. Everyone was very courteous and helpful. There is a Starbucks and a Mucho Burrito a few steps away from the entrance, and they offer a discount to overnight guests at the hotel. We'll be sure to stay at this hotel again.
