This is an adequate motel, but there were a few things that irked us. We stayed one night originally, and as it was only $60, we decided to return there on our travels. The owners aren't great at communicating with their guests, in our opinion. The (Indian?) lady went to charge us $65 on our return visit - when I queried it, she didn't say why - didn't say anything at all, though she did alter it for us. Only one bath towel is provided for a double room, so I went to ask for another ... she told me to find her husband .... he gave me another and asked if that was all. When I said yes, that's it, he took that as meaning that we didn't need our room "done" and so our bed wasn't made, etc. After sorting this out, he came to make our bed for us, quite pleasantly, but as he exited, he asked us to move the doormat slightly closer to the door, to keep the carpet clean, that seemed a bit odd and slightly obsessive. The room was pretty small, but basically fine.

Stayed here for an overnight stay on a visit to Burlington from SFO. The rooms are clean and well kept. It is a very small place with a home attached. The owners do not stay in the reception and need to ring a bell every time you need something. They do not even open the door to greet a customer. Could be more inviting and friendly with customers.........Tim Horton is nearby for coffee and bagels and within driving distance to restaurants...

The room is good for the price. I did book through bookings.com paid 75. Found out if you book directly it is 10 cheaper.
Room is clean, basic with flat screen fridge and microwave. Only I would have like is a plastic glasses. And more towels only one set per room.

Very rude staff. Room smelled funny. Sheets were stained. Shower made an aweful screeching noise, as did the exhaust fan...not very relaxing. Oh, don't forget the bug bites by the next morning. A perfect parting gift for a terrible stay. Don't go here. Spend an extra couple bucks and avoid feeling gross.

For anyone planning on or even thinking about staying at the Royal Motel, please think carefully. I went into the motel yesterday, April 25, 2014 inquiring about the availability of a room for one week beginning today April 26, 2014. I was told no problem, I could pay cash $280.00 upon checkin and the room would be waiting. I called today to confirm both price and and that the room was indeed held. I drove all the way there..to be told ..they had no rooms. The only car in the parking lot was I presume the owners and one other person, who just happened to be checking in. So, please, be very wary of any dealings with the Royal Motel...there's nothing royal about the place..on the contrary they are an incompetently boorish run business.

Room Tip: I'd be very careful about staying there. Actually I'd avoid it totally.

Was looking for a quiet night after a stressful week at work.
From check in to check out this place missed the mark on providing that.
Reception was rude to my wife who booked me the room. I mean, how many times do you have to say you're a non smoker. Upon my arrival to the room I wondered what the big deal about smoking was, a burnt cigarette would have improved the overall smell of the room. The stink of mould was awful and the linens and comforters clearly hadn't been cleaned in a while. The comforters were filthy and carpets weren't great either.
Heck, even some Febreeze would likely help.

Then came the Wi-Fi.
Royal123

Seems pretty easy. Only it's not. Because that's not the password. The front desk will tell you it is. They'll tell you you're doing it wrong. They'll spell Royal for you... slowly. Then, when you get frustrated after the 3rd call, they say they are calling the police.

Spent the remainder of the evening waiting for a knock on the door.

Thanks for the Royal treatment.

The owner let me check in with my friend and brother that I came to visit halfway between our cities. He wanted cash and refused to give me a receipt. He then kicked us out one hour later telling us we were going in and out of our room too much. He refused to return my money which was $200. $100 for the room and a $100 deposit. I called the police. The officer was only able to get $ 100 back only and a receipt. I was then questioned by a second officer. It was the worst hotel experience of my life. Revenue Canada should look into why this owner deals in cash with no receipts. All other hotels were booked in the area and I had no where to go.

The room was clean, and nicely appointed for a small roadside motel. I won't go into the details of our night, but we flew into town at 4am! Our hotel had given up our reservation, and two others wouldn't answer the door. This hotel owner, groggy and confused, gave us a room at a decent rate.
Now this is a small, family run, roadside motel, Don't expect the Ritz! Beds were comfy, room was set up nice, and the bathroom was obviously reno'd lately. There really is nothing to complain about if you need a nice, safe, comfy sleep.

It's a very nice motel. Good rooms and also shy but friendly owners. The rooms had flat screens and super fast wifi. We were able to watch Movies on the Internet without any problems. The prices were good too. All in all a good motel would come back
