We stayed here for a weekend in June and enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and great value for the price ($60/night) Excellent location, right downtown- great for parking the car and walking everywhere. The room was very basic-no phones or fridge- but it was the perfect place to crash at night on a budget. The owner was friendly and we will certainly stay here again!

We stayed here again last summer and it wasn't as good as we had remembered...I guess our tastes are changing...The room was stinky so we had to use an air freshener throughout our stay. The bed was uncomfortable so we didn't leave well rested. The shower drain was a little blocked and very slow to drain. But the thing that bothered us the most were the centipedes we saw climbing the walls each night- yuck!!
Yes the location is great and the rate is affordable but this year, for just a few dollars more, we've decided to try out one of Burlington's Bed and Breakfast establishments instead!!

A very well run 'Mom & Pop' motel that is clean, welcoming and quiet. Central to downtown Burlington and with easy access to QEW. Perfect if your on a budget and want too do day trips into Toronto and Niagara Falls. Nearby night clubs, restaurants and parks make the Ascot perfect for everyone.

In spite of the other favourable reviews on this site, either my wife and I were at a different Ascot motel in a different Burlington, Ontario (etc.,etc..) or we caught Tony and co. at a bad time. He was somewhat dismissive when we arrived; bordering on ill mannered and that was the most favorable part of our stay. The room we were given had no less than three panes of glass with cracks, the electrical socket adjacent to the television was dangerously overloaded and the plumbing was a disaster.
The bath tub fixture dripped continually, the basin in the bathroom leaked onto the floor when the water was run and the toilet appeared to be in danger of liberating itself from the wall to which it was affixed.
All this for 80 bucks a night!? Not what I call value for money, I should have booked a campsite. Cheaper, safer and most likely the racoons, skunks, chipmunks and other hosts would have been more hospitable.

I've stayed at this place a few times in the last few years and it has never let me down. The small motel is right downtown in the heart of the city and close to shops, bars and pubs. One of the cleanest places I have ever stayed at and I've had my fair share of travels. Totally recommend this place if you're looking for a quality decent priced place without the bells and whistles.

We have stayed here twice and are booked to stay again soon. The owners are charming, the place is clean and comfortable and a total throwback to the days of unpretentious, family owned and operated roadside motels. The lovely lake views are equally unpretentious and staying there reminds me of being at the cottage, only it's warmer, cleaner and quieter. Great location, easy to walk to great places to eat, grab coffee or just sit quietly along the lake. Decent prices and always a pleasant experience. The owners seem to be fussy about the clientele and so it is not a "party palace", despite it's proximity to pubs. So glad we found it. I just hope it never changes.

When I called to book a room, the manager was incredibly rude. The room also had a peculiar smell that I couldn't put my finger on, sort of musty. Would not recommend unless you're prepared to deal with unpleasant staff and strange odours.

It's a quiet Sunday at 11:05am. A very rare day where I was being lazy in bed after a night out. A loud knock on the door and a man yelling through door that check out is at 11 and that I need to leave. I quickly shower and come out to find my door being propped open and told I was lucky that my car wasnt towed all with a finger pointing down at me. I had no trouble the night before and definitely did not warrent this type of aggression.
I close the door for some privacy to get dressed and it was opened again by the man telling me a need to leave now.
To speed things up I am brushing my teeth and packing at the same time. A lady comes rolling her eyes and telling me to hurry up and get out.
With toothpaste flying out of my mouth I tell her I am going as fast as I can. She said she didn't care and to get the h#@l out.
I proceeded to hurry and she returned telling me to get out.
I thanked her for the great hospitality and wished her a great day..her response..I don't care just get the hell out!
Worst customer service I have ever experienced and completely out of nowhere.
I was out by 11:30am...a mere 25 minutes from the moment the first knock on the door.
I was one of the lucky ones because the man proceeded to knock on other doors telling guest to get out..at least I got a shower where other asked the man if they could shower before leaving and he said NO!
Stay away!! I have never experienced anything like this in my life!

I went with 2 of my friends to stay because we had no where else to go that night and it was the only one within our price range. We phoned a head and made a reservation and the receptionist was very rude, then when we got there the manger denied our service because I was a male and my 2 friends were female. Not recommended for anyone
