We enjoyed it, and will no doubt return, particularly given the excellent location, and the dearth of independent and appealing accommodations in Guelph.

Norfolk Guest House is halfway between a B&B and an inn. Occasional interaction with the innkeeper, no interaction with other guests. Liked the convenience of self-check in.

Beautifully restored heritage home. Old houses are hard to heat, but it was not at all drafty, we were comfy. It was also very quiet, throughout the weekend. Lots of nice touches, including a television set mounted on a swivel that could be viewed from the sitting area or the bed, and it received Netflix.

Breakfast was served with a knock on the door on Saturday morning by a charming young woman around 8:30 – which was great, but I did need coffee before then, and there was no in-room coffee maker. I made a pot in the guest kitchen but wasn't entirely clear if I was welcome to do so.

My husband and I booked this stay just to get a weekend out of Toronto and as a chance to see some of the surrounding areas such as Elora and Kitchener/Waterloo. We stayed in the Grandview room. I was prepared to be disappointed as often a place will not live up to the pictures, but the opposite was the case. The room was amazing; incredibly spacious with the lovely balcony and bathroom. Breakfast was tasty and delivered to our room each morning. It all felt very luxurious. Check-in was simple and straightforward, despite a power loss due to a wicked thunderstorm that had just knocked out power to the area. The location is great a well, both for day trips by car (Elora, K/W) and in the evening to walk into town for a dinner on a patio. I thoroughly recommend this place!

My partner and I spent a wonderful night in the Platinum Suite. We originally booked for the Queen Suite, but upon arrival, the host upgraded us free of extra charge! It was such a lovely surprise. The room was beautiful and very clean! Breakfast was great and presented beautifully.
Will for sure be coming again when visiting the city!

Here is the description of the Bombay Room where I stayed:
Exotic and Sumptuous.
Set off with jewel tones, the room combine the essence of both opulence and comfort. The ornate antique brass bed, fit for a sultan, rests under a canopy of fabrics from the East. The room guarantees an escape from the ordinary.

Although the room had some nice features--antique table lamps and dresser, comfortable bed, bright gold-coloured decorative pillows, and includes a blanket so you don't have to cover with the comforter. it is other wise ordinary. The bed was not the brass one shown in the photo or mentioned in the description, the windows don't open, the large bathroom is accessed by crossing the hall, past the linen shelves, vacuum cleaner, and laundry basket stored in the hallway; not something you expect when you pay $168 (incl. tax) for a small room. Be prepared to fumble with the lock. As a Covid safety measure, there was no contact with the host; guests make their own coffee and grab a breakfast sandwich from the fridge. I had to call the host to find out where the guest kitchen was. The patio shown on the website is not available to guests.

I booked after seeing a good deal online, however I became concerned upon reading multiple bad reviews about the owner on multiple sites. I had emailed to verify vegan options, Guelph is generally fantastic, she hadn't answered me and with the reviews I worried so I called. The womans tone as soon as she answered sounded unwelcoming before I had even asked.
When I asked I was offered cereal with almond milk and eggs 🤣
I cancelled right after.
The photos look great but they need to come to 2020 Guelph is an amazingly gorgeous city, lots of veggie options and people who are veg also with so many reviews about the customer service I hope she reviews them.

Great breakfast, 2 spacious dining rooms to eat in. All home made by owner, who is lovely. Place is clean, filled with interesting antiques. Nice outdoor spaces to sit or eat at. If you can afford it and it's available, the Penthouse or Grandview suites is where you should stay. Other rooms are nice too, but not as elaborate.

Wonderful room, well decorated and spacious. Thoughtful touches in every aspect. Very tailored and personal service. Safe and secure with a code to enter the house. Breakfast was presented beautifully. Host made perfect recommendations on places to visit in the area. Over all, our stay was incredible.

Stayed one night in the Penthouse suite but wished it was a longer stay. The room is stunning; looks exactly like the pics on website. The bed is luxurious, not too hard and not too soft. Had a bubble bath in the jacuzzi bath. The room was a perfect backdrop for romance. The hosts were wonderfully accommodating. We forgot our bluetooth speaker and they lent us theirs. Can't recommend highly enough.

The Norfolk inn is a beautiful historical inn. The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. We stayed in the grandview room, which was even more lovely than in the photos. If you are looking for a beautiful spot to stay in Guelph, this is it. The reason for the 3-star review is that the day we were there, there was some kind of party happening below us from 10pm-12pm, which is not what we were expecting as we were looking forward to a peaceful get-away. When I messaged the owner inquiring as to what was going on, we never received a reply. We were disappointed there was no explanation or acknowledgement. I would have expected better service at this price point.

Came for an overnight stay to visit my son in his first year at Guelph. He lives in res, I needed an affordable and cozy place to stay. My guest room (The Pandora) was like home away from home! And Janet made my check-in, breakfast to the room, and check-out, an easy and lovely experience. As I plan on coming for more visits to see my son, I’ll be back to this beautiful guest house again! 😊
